Ayy. Also I am impressed by the amount of effort put into the fake language.

I watched Devil Is A Part-Timer like 7-8 years ago and barely remember anything about it, so I really should take some time to re-watch it myself. I think I'll start on it once I finish the latest batch of Pokemon Journeys episodes on Netflix.

I haven't watched pokemon since Hoenn (so early 2000s lol), but I watched Pokemon 2019 (Pokemon Journeys in English) when it started airing and I'm still watching it. It's been really great.

Same here, Journeys is the first I've watched of the main Pokemon anime since the Hoenn series (though I've gone back and watched most of the movies since then) and I'm enjoying it a lot. I'm not watching it subbed as it airs though. There's no way I could adjust to the Japanese names and voices no matter how hard I try.

Yeah, the names were an odd adjustment. I never played gen 8 so I only know the gen 8 characters and pokemon by their japanese names. But every time they list a town name in one of the regions I immediately look it up to find out what the english town name was.

I can handle japanese character names since I forget the names of a lot of the characters anyway

but the one thing I absolutely cannot handle is japanese pokemon names

I read the LNs and am partly through the last one. I tried the first season but something about it just rubbed me the wrong way. Which is a shame, since it's a cool premise

In other news, the RikeKoi finale was really good, despite what the internet says. Different and a tone shift, but it definitely had classic RikeKoi elements and made a good point. I'm excited to see how S3 deals with things

It took until two episodes left in the series, but it finally feels like AMAIM is actually delivering on the mecha hype that it promised. It might be too little too late though. I'll have to wait and see how the ending turns out next week, because that'll go a long way in deciding how I score this show.

Let me know how they turned out. The dub got delayed and I'm not switching to the Japanese voices after an entire decade of being used to the English voices.

Pretty faithful to volume 1 for awhile, then dipped into volume 2, and added a new character and subplot (or maybe its the main plot of the anime, no idea.) Overall pretty fun.

Oh damn it's that time of the decade where I actually watch an anime.

That one is going to be a standalone that's not connected to the main Gundam universe, right? The only two Gundam series I've seen before are Wing and IBO, which were both standalones. There's no way I'm going to try and get into the main Gundam universe, it looks far too complicated.

That's a shame. It's been the opposite for me, this has been one of my favorite seasons ever. I have 6 shows (more than half the shows I was watching this season) that I'm going to end up giving at least an 8.5/10 to, with some of them being 9's and one possibly being a 10 when it's all said and done.

It was inevitable based on the pacing, but I'm glad to see this actually confirmed and so hyped for the second half of this story.

It's the summer season thats going to be the big one.

And on a completely unrelated note, finally finished Devil is a Part Timer. Fun show, not amazing, but good enough. Not enough Emerada. Guess I'm ready for season 2.

Pretty good first season finale for Birdie Wing, and like I said before, I'm super hyped for the second half in Winter 2023. Just based on this first season alone, I'd give the show a 9 or 9.5, but this honestly has the potential to be a 10/10 when it's all said and done.

I have watched that series before, Sharp was the best season, followed by Dokkan.
If you ever watched any real quantity of Precure (which is the spiritual successor,) they re-use the premise in later seasons. Huggto is Sharp, Kira Kira A la Mode is just Motto.

I've never watched Doremi, but I know it has early Yoshihiko Umakoshi character designs and I love his designs in Heartcatch Precure and Casshern Sins.

Since the new season starts tomorrow, I did one last run-through of the anime chart for this season and finalized my plan-to-watch list. I have 13 shows I'm interested in for this season: 5 shows streaming on Crunchyroll, 6 shows streaming on HiDive, 1 show stuck in Netflix Jail, and 1 show (which happens to be my most highly anticipated show of the season!) whose license hasn't been announced yet. This will be the first time ever that HiDive is carrying as many of my shows in a season than Crunchyroll is, possibly more than Crunchyroll depending on where that last unlicensed show ends up.

Is Magic Knight Rayearth worth a watch?

I bought my first ever manga: Vol 1 of Blue Period. It wasn't what I intended to get, but the store didn't have vol 1 of Oshi no Ko, only vol 5.

I'm two chapters into it and really liking it!

Well that first episode of Teppen managed to utterly and thoroughly fry my brain. This will be quite the show....

I watched the first episode of Magical Knight Rayearth. It is so wonderfully Mid 90's. ^_^
