Yeah it definitely seems like a pointless role, especially since in order to win I have to either get a town killed or get myself killed. Either way we're losing a teammate even if we account for getting powers and the ability to keep talking to each other.

Yeah I thought that too, but the thing is I want town to win or I'm going to lose, so obviously I'm not going to use it like that to shut down the votes. No reason for me to use the power until I find the WoL tbh.

Unless there's some other third party in play that interacts with it, like the invisible 14th.

Presumably it's some flavor for a noble-sacrificial role that is a roundabout, daytime seer. If it's true, of course, but that's an extremely specific claim to make, and I'm trying to wrap my head how it would interact with some abilities on an otherwise cut-and-dry role.

I assumed providing the protection of Azem gave Bulletproof or some other kind of defensive power. Didn't expect a Bodyguard to exist alongside that in a game this small.

If you read back you can tell I wasn't 100% sure it meant Shonen was scum, obviously now that was because I have no way to know exactly what I give to Ulti, but it was enough when combined with his scummy behavior and the fact that BG is an easy fake claim to send him to the executioner.

assuming things are on the level (which isn't guaranteed and we will need to hedge), based on ben's wording i think we just lose a day, everything sucks, and then one or the other is nightkilled.

I don't see the latter scenario happening. Doesn't make sense from a purely neutral perspective to let me live. I confirmed Ulti as town, you guys only have my word to confirm me (and Ulti soft confirming me, but that was before i claimed).

Point is it would be a risk to let me live over Ulti. I'm not gonna say no if y'all wanna do that, but I doubt Ulti will just move aside and let me sap him of his sweet sweet aether.

And I'm not sure what you mean by "have him spill the details". I spilled all the details I have in my long af claim post.

I don't want to really dig down this rabbit hole but this doesn't actually confirm either one of you as town.

Scenario plays out a few ways in my head, before I go to bed entirely:

1.) Ulti is WoL and flavor as claimed. Mike hangs. Ulti gains this ambiguous protection and a spirit advisor of their own via deadchat from Mike - basically a more powerful lovers, doesn't matter whether town or scum. Both still get to win if town does, or scum gets a conversion (but scum WoL sounds really, really weird.)
2.) Ulti is WoL and flavor as claimed. Ulti hangs. The same thing happens, except now Ulti speaks via deadchat.
3.) Ulti is some other role entirely as a townie. Mike hangs. Mike loses and we learn nothing except what Ulti chooses to tell us. So basically, chaos.
4.) Ulti is some other role entirely as scum. Mike hangs. Again we know nothing other than Ardbert going away.
5.) See #3, except Ulti hangs. Mike still has bodyhop power and can keep trying, but probably gets killed overnight.
6.) See #4, except Ulti hangs. Mike still has bodyhop power and town gets rid of a scum, but again, probably gets killed overnight.

not saying you meant this, but for the record, i'm not backing up anyone's role- from my knowledge of the game's plot i could tell what character tavish was alluding he would claim

i could envision scenarios where one or both was a safeclaim, or someone's a weird sk/jester/duelist variant. this is why we need to wait for ulti

it's hard to imagine a scum role having this much power over the day, though

Not that I don't love the idea of living through the day, but can I ask why? Is it really just the Elidibus theory?

also if a third party successfully murders a town in a 13 player game its a little strange

I mean your role annoys me but I have grown out of my whining phase (for the most part)

Didn't exactly claim third party. He is basically claiming gladiator that has to succeed on a condition to win.

This is like a really weird death neighborizer

Ulti did kind of say he had a death speaking role during day 1, so I'm wondering how much of this he knew already.

Mike - say we did lynch Ulti today and he is WoL. Are you able to use your gladiator ability again tomorrow?
