To be fair. I was 100% on board with dropping dead and letting this continue until Red mentioned the Elidibus angle which i hadn't considered. It's a perfect way to make this role make sense and make it not completely anti-town if I'm facing off against Godfather Warrior of Light Elidibus. Even makes sense with the flavour since he Takes over my body in game.

If you're town, Ulti, you're in the same boat as me where the setup has screwed you and if so, I apologize, but I'm at the point now where I'm convinced you being lynched is the best option for town just for the chance you're scum. I KNOW my role and faction, I don't know yours, it's as simple as that.

Warrior of Light being on the safe list, or being your ACTUAL role as scum (with a mention of you being Elidibus in your role pm) would pop out as a beautifully safe scum claim to my eyes. How were you to know I was going to claim THIS of all things when we were hinting to each other on day 1.

You could very well have expected me to accept you with open arms and have a town buddy confirming you for the rest of the game which I all but already did earlier in the day before I considered this scenario.

Again though, I don't "win no matter what" after today. I still need town to win. Therefore, as Red (or was it plum) pointed out, I'm playing to lose by allowing myself to get lynched when I'm not absolutely 100% certain what your alignment is. If you're indeed town and we mislynch you today, it sucks but we still have you around 100% confirmed and gain a ton of info based on who said what to you over the past two days.

If you get lynched and you flip scum, then woo-hoo we in this boys.

If I get lynched; you're all going to see my flip and not really gain anything because YOU could still be scum and that's basically the end of the game because well have no choice but to treat you as confirmed town for the rest of the game, especially with me whispering things in your ear you may or may not give a damn about.

The only thing everyone can pretty much agree on for today's lynch is I'm obviously not on the mafia team because why in the world would I do this as mafia? So logically, the best chance of success comes through lynching you.

Obviously you disagree because either you KNOW you are town or you're mafia pretending to know that, but most other logical people should be able to follow my train of thought I'd think.

Ulti accidentally misgendered me (or intentionally to be a dick, since that's also on brand) at one point in one of the belittling posts by referring to me as a she. I am very much a male; however, my character is female, and then I started getting called "he" after I picked up on and called out the "wait a minute" moment.

Without revealing much more, that should also confirm *me* as town, as there's... what, two named Ascians at this point that are listed as female? I can think of a few fringe cases where it's not, but... yeah.

Either that or Ulti's lying about what WoL's capable of and one of his abilities is the Echo itself, which I'd presume is a scanner-type ability, in which case... why don't you go ahead and tell me who I am without me telling you who I am?

i feel like we're twisting ourselves in knots to imagine a scenario where all of the following is true:

1) the independent tavish is being 100% accurate and forthcoming with their role,
2) the host is actively pranking the tavish by misleading them about their path to victory, and
3) only in one specific way

if we're opening the door to the host misleading tavish, why do we trust when the host says independent will stay town-aligned if he succeeds in the merge?

i think we have to stick with tavish's original logic, before he developed cold feet

while this doesn't exactly prove anything about alignment, it's pretty rational for tavish's "target" to be bulletproof. how much would it suck to have that role, and your target dies n1?

The problem with that logic is if WoL is scum he can't die during the night (barring a town vig i guess?) and there's no way a WoL claim gets lynched day 1 and once he DOES claim I'm free to use my ability. This is actually a good point as to why he COULD be scum tbh.

As far as me being honest about my role goes there is obviously nothing I can do to prove myself other than the fact that I've been trying my damndest to lead discussion for 2 straight day phases.

i'm ultimately not talking about you being deceptive, i'm talking about the host being deceptive

What makes more sense though? (Assuming, of course, that I'm being honest about my role which even Ulti agrees I am and have been)

A role where I, who needs to win with town, enter into a 1v1 with another person who needs to win with town (and IS town) and guarantee a town friendly person dies...

Or I, who needs to win with town, enter into a 1v1 with scum with a strong flavour claim?

The latter sounds much more likely to me at this point.

I was able to get my shift moved to 7am today, so I'm around until deadline instead of popping in an hour beforehand. Progress!

This is something I have seen you do in a game as scum before. I don't remember if it was a game I played in or a game Blade played in offhand, but it was an Avengers game. You were Thanos and immediately claimed Thanos on day 1. The game WIFOMed the hell out of you the entire time, you kept barely dodging the lynch, and you survived until the endgame. You then sat there trolling everyone in the postgame for not killing you.
