Ah yes, with more than 898 species now (and probably a few more coming with Legends of Arceus: Breath of the Wild), sometimes there are a few Pokmon whose type eludes me.

That goes double for mythicals/event legendaries, Megas, and UBs...

Eelektross - For some reason I thought it has Dark type as well but apparently it's just Electric.
The Tapus - Well, at least at first. But now I can remember their types better.
Stakataka and Pheromosa - I tend to remember them as pure Rock and pure Bug, respectively.
Turtonator - Initially I thought it was just Fire.
Azurill - It's now both Normal and Fairy instead of just Normal.
Zeraora - I thought it's a dual Electric/Fighting, but it's actually pure Electric
Lunala - I played Sun so I have a hard time remembering the exact type of Lunala (it's Psychic/Ghost).
Lugia - For many gens, it was hard for me to remember it's Psychic/Flying despite being the guardian of the sea or w/e.

Hoopa: Literally just now realizing it changes types with its form.

Melmetal - For some reason I thought it was also Fairy?

For quite some time I thought Shuckle was Water/Rock instead of Bug/Rock. Also that Ursaring was Normal/Psychic instead of just Normal.

Although forgot isn't the right word. Never knew would be more accurate.

I often forget that Dewgong, Cloyster and Lapras are part Ice.

By generation:
- Forget that Jigglypuff/Wigglytuff are still normal type with Fairy added.
- Forget Snubbull/Granbull are pure fairy
- Can't ever think of what type Cradily is, somehow forgetting it's a fossil and thus has Rock attached (which is no longer always the case, but still.)
- Forget Drapion loses its Bug type on evolution
- Can't ever recall most of the Musketeers apart from "part Fighting." Forget Meinfoo/Shao are pure Fighting. When I played the first two times, could not for the life of me remember Golett/Golurk's types (and I still need to punch myself every time I think it's Rock instead of Ground)
- I don't remember having trouble with much from X/Y except, hilariously enough, Xerneas/Yveltal/Zygarde.
- Tapus don't give me much trouble beyond their names, but Passimian/Oranguru I keep picturing as goofy Normals. Ultra beasts are on a whole other level of "fuck this noise and fuck my memory." Rock/Poison from a fucking floating story-important jellyfish with fairy stars on it? The fuck?
- the Galar-form birds, I keep forgetting that some have forsaken their types entirely.

Eelektross is no weaknesses due to levitate so could never forget that one.

I'm a huge nerd in this area and can't think of anything I actually forget, the closest is probably things that make no sense compared to design. Some of the Galarian regional forms are mono-not-what-you'd-think.

Oh I'm sure there's a ton of them, particularly from the later gens. I always think Baltoy and Claydol are part ghost instead of ground.

I think the ultra beast types are a bit ridiculous on purpose though, to fit with their extraterrestrial nature and the abnormal feeling around them. But Nihilego's is particularly egregious, yes.

I similarly just now remembered Drampa is a Normal/Dragon.

I can mostly keep track of the Tapus but I sometimes get Fini and Lele mixed up, and when I get them straight I sometimes still manage to think that Tapu Lele is somehow Fairy/Fairy. Like, I know it's not mono-Fairy, but I still think of it as having Fairy for both typings before I realize that's fucking stupid.

Every single starter in the series is monotype. The water starters are all just Water, the fire starters are all just Fire, the grass starters are all just Grass.

...except for Bulbasaur and Rowlet, which are part Poison and part Flying respectively. Why couldn't they just be consistent about it???

Hey, Bulbasaur came first. You should be blaming the rest for not following Bulbasaur's example.

There are quite a few but probably the one that matters most recently due to BDSP is I NEVER remember that Croagunk and Toxicroak are Poison/Fighting. I always think its Poison/Dark.
