there's also no new lockdown lmao, at least not in a country that would matter to disneys pockets.

We are definitely in lockdown for at least a month. That is already bad enough (but not unneeded) without other people mocking it.

The problem is, the US isn't really going into full lockdown yet. European nations going into lockdown doesn't mean much to Hollywood. They'll need to see domestic gross take a hit before they start to lean heavily back into streaming.

I dont think there are any movies that I dont mind just waiting to watch on streaming

Hearing all the members of the media advocating a return to theatres and they're only argument was "but, it's an experience" while I'm sitting in front of my 4k flatscreen that I can watch from my toilette, seemed a little tone deaf. I would not call listening to babies crying while I had to pay $40 for a hot butter-like delivery system, an experience I want to go back to.

Depending on how old the theatre is, the screen is likely dirty as all hell, where at home, I know the screen is clean because I just gave it a weekly once over.

The only reason I still went to theatres was the Imax laser pre-show (the amount of energy they ran through the room was intoxicating and could cure any bad mood I was in) and they have stopped doing them.

Just saying, if there ever was a movie that could get me to pay for Disney+ premier access, or whatever they call it again, it is No Way Home.

usa wouldn't be enough to make disney switch anyways.

And? I can pause when i need to piss or shit, or need a snack or drink. I dont need to listen to any else making noises while watching the movie.
Screen size is nice sure, but its not what I find makes a movie

I mean, maybe I do things differently than you but none of that has ever been a problem, you just go to the bathroom and have all your stuff ready before it starts. Also I wouldn't want to pause a movie at home either seeing as that breaks the immersion. I've also never really had a problem with unwanted noise.

no one gives a shit about the size of the screen

people give a shit about being in their own home, being able to pause and rewind, easily accessible subtitles, not having to be next to obnoxious ass people, listen to kids screaming, sit in a shit spot, find parking, ect.

so you can go and be in a stuffy crowded ass theater, and i'll be on my couch getting zooted, eating pizza, and fuckin relaxin.

Completely impractical to have one that big, meanwhile a 4k 55" is a couple of hundred bucks and 4k 75" are under a thousand and (were) dropping in price.

Or you can get a 4k digital projector and just paint a wall white.

Sure, but it is healthier to just go when you need to.

I can lie in bed, eat what I want, drink what I want, smoke what I want, and if I fall asleep, I can pick up right where I left off after my nap.

disney is desperate for money and theyve fucked up majorly with these movie theaters. Warner Bros and HBO seem to be doing fine with their instant releases at home, but Disney seemed to have fucked up both Black Widow and Shang Chi, so they dont seem to care about SM

also this new outbreak happened spur of the moment for them, and they cant really back out now

I tried looking up bootleg versions of Spider-Man but its still cam footage in a theater so Im not watching that. Im just going to put on a mask and sit in the back of the theater. But I dont expect to make it a regular thing. I was perfectly happy watching Dune and Matrix 4 at home
