Can sorta get it, just cos they have good chemistry together doesn't mean you have to ship them. Unless they play it up like Noel Flare or Okakoro.

Speaking of Hololive merch, getting worried about the Fubuki Nendoroid.

Got the A2 Nendoroid which is from Toytech who are handling the Fubuki. I thought after the Chika/Kaguya disaster they would up the quality control. But while the 2B is ok, the A2's paintjob seems to be of lesser quality especially when compared with other Nendoroids I have like Musashi or Aqua.

Didn't help one bit at all, that the box came damaged in shipping, so while the Nendoroid itself is fine, the cover used to display Berserker mode is bent pretty badly. A disaster. Though at least so far it seems to be the only time it's happened.

Would have me terrified to ship anything like a mug or plate or anything that can break easily in transit.

Shame Fulgur seems to like portraying himself as a bit of an abrasive dick, he's a damn good streamer. Enjoying both his Cyberpunk and Detroid playthroughs. Great commentary, good energy, very good at controlling his chat, very good at interacting with his chat when he's not being a hardass. Had his stream on mostly as background noise while finishing up work and doing dinner and he actually had me paying attention to it quite a lot which surprised me coz i've never been at all interested in any other playthrough of Cyberpunk. I'm now installing it >_>

I get that he seems to want more orderly, slower, less parasocial chat when compared to Vox, Luca ,Mysta etc. but feels like he's gone overboard in achieving that.

Very interested to see how his collab with Selen goes lmao.

As someone who has Suisei as a firm oshi, gosh this is a good cover, best one since Phony.
Though tbh, it's the MV that helps massively since it works really well with the story of her ascension. This wouldn't work with so many others, but they have different stories to tell.

I'm feeling an original song this month to celebrate her Bday/Anniv combo. Ghost and Stellar Stellar are the ones she released for her top tier landmark moments, so hoping we get something on that level.

People in here that dared to read my posts a year ago (assuming any of them haven't blocked me since) may know that I rather liked the "Floral" vtuber group. Spawning from an obscure freeware vn-developing doujin circle (Neon Soft), it aimed to expand on one of the side characters of the later entries in its "Maximum Days" series, namely Igarashi Itsutsu (or Itutu). It made it cleanly through a crowdfunding campaign to kickstart a vtuber unit comprised of her and two more members of her school (in lore) in early 2019 and around May or so they actually kicked everything off, in a very... unconventional way.

If the campaign had said they aimed to blend the lines of virtual youtubers and their VNs together, I doubt many would've anticipated they meant like what they did, since instead of adapting these characters into vtuber unit right off the bat, what they instead went with was a series of web dramas supposedly tied to the VNs (complete with vn-like visuals) that also heavily featured other, really weird indie vtubers. It was chaos. And whether it was intentional or not, it lead to the plot rapidly devolving to the point that they started doing streams in place of actual episodes. Very weird, and not very popular. A few months later all three of them started doing solo activities (Itsutsu on the main channel, Rikuru on another and Siyo on a third one that was opened up a while later still. There was also a group bilibili account and they occasionally still used it for when they collabed.)

Anyway, Itsutsu wasn't seeing much channel growth and Rikuru was seeing even less with her non-pre-established account, so naturally Siyo likewise struggled once she finally started around early 2020 even with the advantage of having art skills (her art streams were decent tbh). Or at least she did up until she got a golden ticket with the youtube algorithm and suddenly found herself with thousands of followers as soon as she attempted to do asmr streams for the first time. from there, the group grew distant as siyo doubled down on her newfound asmr following and coupled it with infrequent horror game streams (throwing away her art streams, her indie game streams, and any semblance of character she was meant to have in favour of... well, to put it bluntly, selling out), and made effectively no attempts to help give the rest of her group any exposure.

The bilibili group account was abandoned, Itsutsu went on a break, Rikuru reduced activity, Itsutsu came back, Itsutsu left again, Rikuru dramatically increased activity but was only losing active viewers as she opted to play jrpgs instead of popular streamer games, and finally, Itsutsu came back once more, which is where the dynamic finally showed a slight sign of shifting. While her return stream controversially only got about one twentieth as many viewers as Siyo, who decided on a whim to do another asmr stream during said return, she was finally able to get a sizeable following of her own... on bilibili.

Perhaps it was the break or the success at last, but Itsutsu showed a lot more personality from that point onward, which in turn made her a lot more endearing to watch. Turns out she genuinely got along with those weirdos from years prior, even though some of them had clear, actual mental health issues. Her interactions with one of them in particular are still one of the more wholesome things i've seen in the last year or two. She also started playing more niche things, more games in general in fact, which combined with Rikuru's more otaku-esque gaming preferences made them both very worth watching imo. But, their viewers were on the decline yet again and tensions were evidently still high behind the scenes as early on last year, a Floral group visual novel would come to fruition around Valentines day... without the involvement of Siyo or Rikuru. Siyo would announce her retirement shortly after, set for around her (character's) birthday in early april. Meanwhile Rikuru, having finally barely managed to hit enough subscribers to monetise her channel, was unable to capitalise as she was also only getting enough viewers to count on one hand at that point, so she too opted to retire, deleting her channel as soon as the stream was over (in line with what Siyo had announced prior to then. of course, then Siyo instead decided to not delete anything on the channel for an entire month and then just redebut with her 30k+ subscribers still intact because of course she would, but that's a different matter).

It could've been a bitter end to a weird group I'd just managed to get recommended by chance way back when the crowdfunding campaign was still going, but by this point, Itsutsu had opened up a fanbox account (and accompanying discord server). Very few other vtubers bothered interacting with her in the past year (she did at least get some rapport from the Beatus Creation vtuber group, perhaps thanks to their similar group statuses as groups linked to doujin game circles... but that didn't really change the fact that she's been going weeks without being seen on youtube or twitter a lot of the time lately), so the only way to really keep up with her was largely just that discord populated by a lot of caring bilibili-based fans. And the good news is, they really did care. It's clear that the interactions she had with her fans was what kept her going this long. It would've been nice if this could've kept going forever, but it really is time to move on I suppose. Perhaps to beatus gen 4? lol

late to the party here, but yeah. eyeopening to how big vtubing is in Japan for fans who are ignorant to the JP side of things like myself. I'm told Hololive and Nijisanji are market leaders in Japan when it comes to streaming but don't really appreciate what that means until you see stuff like this.

In the west, Gura is the biggest fish in the pond and she still feels rather niche.

Seems like it's going to pretty significantly enhance what their models can do, so they won't just be standing with the arms by the side.

day 1 and day 2 were both good. though my memories of day 2 are obviously more fresh.

main thing I remember about day 1 is enjoying suisei and azki.

day 2 had really energetic kiara, you will see memes of her awesome kick. pretty sure I've seen some already. amazing risu singing, possibly the best singer of today's group. I also thought iofi's choreography was legitimately top tier but I didn't see anyone else talking about it so maybe it was just me who felt that way. some dancers don't move enough, others move around way too much with pointless movements. it felt like iofi had the perfect amount of motion, tons of character and personality to her movements, and her stage presence was very smooth and natural looking.

I thought aki and roboco also had strong solo performances, and the sora+roboco song was good too. from what I saw a lot of people liked the sora+roboco even more than I did...!

that being said you could definitely feel that rushia was missing from the concert. every person for Halloween Night would have been there and it didn't escape my notice that Shion and Ayame seemed to have fewer songs. seems like that song most likely got cut and possibly any duet that would have involved rushia. the day was shorter overall.

mel and choco were cute, and cute together, but I think I've seen enough of their performances at this point that it didn't really blow me away or anything. similarly, boton and flare did a good job, I have nothing bad to say about their solo songs, but they weren't on the same level as the people I specifically gave praise to.

on that note...

sora's solo performance was just next level. probably had the best combination of strong singing, dancing, playing to the crowd, energy levels, even being aware of the camera angles during her performances. step and go is a great song to perform in front of an audience like this and it shows that even her song selection was top tier. A+ across the board...

I've seen Sora and Miko... possibly others, but definitely those two... experimenting with hand tracking technology and other weird tech since at least mid 2021, maybe even early 2021? Wonder if this new tech is an extension of that?

Yeah Moona was Day 1 and she was one of the top performers that day. I wasn't -quite- as hyped about it as some other people but that probably just comes down more to my personal tastes. Honestly all three of the ID girls did amazing. You can really see the potential of them doing more live events in the future, and now that they have 3D models hopefully we get to see that.

From what I've seen Sora/Suisei and other known top end singers lived up to the hype.
Moona/Risu aren't as well known so are a surprise, though Moona's KDA stuff and Risu's King cover showed they can sing well.

Seems like just about any merch and food that was available on site got purchased, venue was packed and twitter trends were through the roof.
So Rushia event aside, this went about as well as it could. I expect the merch to sell out once made available online as well.
I'm gonna depressed seeing the shipping quotations :(

her, Kiara and Risu seem to be getting the most praise from the EN/ID acts for different reasons.
From what i'm seeing in clips from today/yday, Moona smashed it out the park but the performance was a bit out of place? not the type of performance you'd expect to hear at an Idol concert. The JP girls seem to be saying she's more of an "artist" than an "idol".

Also worth mentioning that Ame song selection and performance were so good that multiple JP members (Watame, Subaru, maybe more?) said they thought it was Ame's own original song until they learned what it was.

She wasn't a top tier singer or dancer but she made it so quintessentially Ame that it felt like she actually owned the song.

Sora, yes. I've seen a number of her live performance and she still impresses me every time. This one was no exception.

Suisei... well, also yes. She always kills it. But if you want to see her REALLY kill it you should check out AkiRose's alice in wonderland live recently where Suisei played the queen. She was surrounded by other powerful singers who had been on stage for the last 40 minutes, and still, as soon as Suisei comes out at the end it feels like she just dominates the entire act. Literally a queen.

Honestly you should just watch it anyway cause it's a great live and it's free...

Makes sense to do it now, last week has the been the most eyes on ID since late 2020 with gen2 debuting, pekomoon, risu's NNN and korone collab, etc.
Moona got 20k viewers for her 100 song unarchived karaoke, Iofi got 4kish for her latest Iosalon, all well above their usual. If it was supposed to be at later date makes sense to push them forward a bit to strike while the iron is hot.

After the above, Risu hit 10k on a karaoke stream and Ollie hit 1m subs.
