to be fair, i recall that somebody that got into re:act was caught out for having done that prior... of course, once they learned, she was fired from there too

kinda hoping not. I saw it. honestly in my opinion it's really.... not much of anything? it's like at or even far below the level of random shit talking you'd find in any discord. one or maybe two people saying something even remotely insulting, one or two others saying matter-of-fact things that just happen to be true. and a few others not even engaging in the shit talking.

I wouldn't really hold it against anyone who is legitimately butthurt or offended about this but for me personally it didn't make me feel anything at all. like wow they talk shit in discord. so does everyone else.

We've seen over the last few weeks that even minor incidents turn into big dramas because the audience decide it wants this to become a big deal. The Nene stuff in particular was bad but at least it looks to have blown over.
So yeah kind of up to the fanbases on this one.

Personally I don't think there's a lot to be offended about that in the leaks, Fulgur's comments is the only one I take issue with but Council underperforming isn't exactly an uncommon opinion due to a lot of people expecting them to have the same success as Myth did.

It'll be interesting to see how this develops, I think part of the reason Nene's drama didn't blow up was due to how quickly both sides settled the issue. In this particular case, I doubt anyone from niji or Holo will want to acknowledge this happened so you're just left with fans filling in the blanks.

Will say I'm incredibly disappointed that even the talents feel that they're in some stupid war tho, the increasing level of tribalism in the fanbase over fucking anime streamers has been terrible since the males debutted but I was really hoping it was just limited to their fanbase.

Yeah the conclusion to the Nene drama is more or less how the Miko x Marine Tokimeki stream should have gone.

I guess shittalking Council, would harm any collab that could have happened in the future.

But Vtuber fans seem to be on the younger side, so I can understand them getting into a console war type tribalism. It happens for everything people consume.

Funny how western vtuber fans like to shit on idol culture and parasocial relationships on the JP side when they can be just as bad, but in a different way. As least I'm not aware of much tribalism between Holo/Niji JP back then.
