Apparently Kattan broke his neck doing a stunt on SNL many years ago, and got addicted to the painkillers they gave him. I'm sure he hasn't been the same since. I thought he was acting a little off but that just makes it a lot sadder.

Also, I know it's no fault of his own since it's others around him doing it, but I'm getting REALLY annoyed by all the N'Sync references with Kirkpatrick.

Mirai is so wholesome and was a really good sport about going out the way she did. I knew she'd be an early boot, but I didn't really consider that she was the only Asian-American in the house (even though I was aware that she was), it was because she's considerably younger than everyone else and, as Inviso said before, has the least "Big Brother-like" personality of the cast.

I feel like even with the diversity mandate, BB is taking it the wrong way to simply mean "cast more African-Americans." BB23 had six African-Americans, one Latina, and one Asian. CBB3 has four African-Americans and one Asian. I'm assuming, based on the odd-numbered cast and the gender and diversity imbalance, that there was going to be a 12th cast member and they would have been a woman of color, but probably had to drop out at the very last second with no replacement lined up (probably for COVID reasons), but it's still pretty imbalanced. S41 did pretty well with its diversity.

It doesn't help that BB seems completely averse to casting even a single minority beyond the bare minimum 50%. Gotta maximize the white people they cast.

I don't think Survivor 41 was much better about it being more than "cast more African-Americans". We ended up with Ricard as the only Latino, and the three Asians we had didn't have any common heritage (Filipina, Sri Lankan, and Chinese).

I watched Amazing Race while working out tonight.

Very frustrated watching the editing of "race to the finish" twice in a row when the team that finished first made it to the Pit Stop first both times... like
always happens if one team doesn't get lost on the way. It doesn't add suspense or excitement because it's so obvious.

A very standard episode all around. Not much stood out. Only amusing thing I can remember was the faces made when they were eating the fermented maggots.... ewwwww...

Arun & Natalia are the Kaylyn & Hayley of this season.

Chris Kattan is gone. Feeds were down for much of the day yesterday so it's not entirely clear what happened, but if I had to guess I'd say it was likely a self-evict.

On last night's CBB, someone said in reaction to another's complete ineptitude at how some of the most basic game rules work something to the effect of, "maybe he'll vote for Julie," prompting me to remember when Erik said the above of Shambo.

I gotta say, Chris Kirk and Shanna really bungled that move last night. If Chris just lies to Miesha about voting with her and Shanna uses the Veto on Cynthia instead of Carson, it has the same effect and because it raises far fewer red flags, has a much better chance of working.

I'm just flabbergasted that Carson and Cynthia are buying this.

I'm reminded of how fucking excited I was in BB20, when Fessy won HoH on the back of the B.S. Rockstar elimination (the hacker twist was shitty across the board), only for feeds to reveal that he was going to target SCOTTIE instead of Level 6.

I mean, Paul still has fans for whatever reason. Usually the same people who are fans of The Hantz and don't understand the game. The people who say he should have won, not realizing that he lost the votes of Alex and Whistle-Nut since he needlessly gave them a reason to be bitter.

Fankie, however, is pretty much universally loathed. Even King SBAllen once said he hates the guy!

I'm hoping for a NEL tonight so that we don't have to sit through a predictable NEL next week (and also so Arun & Natalia can add another last place finish to their resume).

I think Strong Bad put it best. You know how when you get the high score on a video game it loops back to 0? Well sometimes you can do something so stupid it flips around to being smart.

It's amazing to me that at least one of Arun & Natalia or Lulu & Lala is going to be in the final four.

Remember when the race restarted, and Lulu/Lala were able to do decently? Good times.

I'm excited to see which of these three teams Arun & Natalia knocks off in the final 4 after being non-eliminated next leg.

Yeah, next week is almost certainly an NEL, considering the finale the week after is scheduled for two hours. I don't think they've done an NEL in the penultimate leg (excluding the twist in 25/26) since the single digit seasons.

Anyway, recent history would show that Raquel & Cayla are the stronger team than Ryan & Dusty so I'm hoping there's a good chance the latter get knocked out before the final leg.

In other news, Horizon comes out tomorrow (I thought it was next Friday, glad I checked) so I'll most likely be playing that instead of watching CBB live.

Something that was just on my mind - has any Survivor season's reputation improved so drastically over the years as San Juan del Sur's? I remember people hated that season while it was airing, but now the general consensus is that it's at least a top half season, with a substantial number of people having it in their top 10.

Yeah, my thought of a Lulu/Lala winner's edit kinda died out - it was just that Switzerland leg.

It's an amazing series of coincidences that Arun & Natalia are still around. Being resurrected and having sheer dumb luck with NELs and teams like Mike/Moe, Akbar/Sheri, and Lulu/Lala managing to out-bad them in elimination legs will do that. Their luck has to run out SOMETIME.

Or they could somehow pull an Amy/Maya type upset victory and surprise everybody.

I never thought Lulu & Lala had anything close to a winner's edit. The only ones I've ever really thought had a shot were Kim & Penn, Ryan & Dusty, Raquel & Cayla, and while they were around Anthony & Spencer.

If Arun & Natalia somehow make the F3, they will join the ranks of Sheri & Cole, Andrew & Dan and Josh & Brent in the "well that happened" department.

I'm not sure that's actually true, and based moreso on Raquel & Cayla getting a 15 minute head start over the last few legs. Although, with Arun & Natalia being the fourth team, I think the only way either of them (or Kim & Penn) get knocked out is by making a critical mistake in the next elimination leg.

Watching Friday night's CBB. All that buildup and Cynthia doesn't win the Veto. Surprise surprise. Episode ends up being wicked fucking boring. And I'm getting so sick of listening to Meisha.
