I don't know a lot about Reus or their other game, but I can say that Renowned Explorers is excellent.

Oh wow, Dream gave me three games that I highly coveted in Littlewood, Garden Story, and Hidden Through Time (plus all of its DLC). I'm downloading them as we speak while also finalizing my secret santa decision!

When you didn't want me to look at your wishlist, I instead looked at your most played games and based stuff off of that. You seemed to really like roguelikes, so I went with Monster Train as a comparison to Slay the Spire and Noita as a general roguelike that looks to have pretty unique and fun mechanics. I was looking at a Stardew Valley comparison, and I landed on My Time at Portia not knowing how much 2D meant to you in that type of game. PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate though was a personal pick and not based on anything you played. I've given it to four of the seven different people I have drawn in our secret santa!

Monster Train is unironically GOATd. I love it so much, have fun with that one Han.

Just received Bloodstained and Griftlands from Abacus. A game that I've had sudden strong interest in after playing a bunch of other metroidvanias, and a card battler I've been watching since early access. Both games I'm sure I'll enjoy greatly, so thanks!

edit: Oh damn, I accepted too quick. Also Yoku's Island Express and Shantae & the Pirate's Curse. Damn, dude. Your generosity is overwhelming. I was thinking I'd stock up on some things to play while they were on sale, but maybe that isn't needed after four games (plus Omori from plum's topic).

I had two plans, and one involved buying two games that went a bit more over the spending limit. I should have known from doing this last year that others would go over, and I shouldn't have worried about it.

The first year that we did this (2014), the spending limit was $10 USD. I had participated in a few secret santa/white elephant gift exchanges before, and they were pretty adamant about sticking to the spending limit, so I spent $10 on the dot (pre-tax obviously) in that first one, only to see that nobody really cared about adhering to the recommended limit. I've gone over every year since, but I don't go too crazy.

Yeah I'll go over the limit because I like gifting stuff out but I don't have the same expectation in receiving when I sign up for these things. Although of course it's nice when it happens!

I think you're fine as long as you aren't abusing the system like I've heard some people doing on, say, the reddit secret santa.

Metalmind got me Celeste, and the Hitman 2 & Hitman - GOTY Legacy Pack all of which I am downloading now!

Celeste I don't know a lot about other than it being a difficult platformer, and is really good from what I hear. Platformers are my favorite genre, so super excited to try this one out! Don't know what to expect, but sure to be a great time.

The new Hitman games were always games that always looked just plain fun, and I've always wanted to try them out and now I can! There's recently been super high praise on the series in a podcast I listen to, so that had me even more interested.

Glad you like it. I had a bit of trouble deciding which Falcom game to get you between that or an Ys game.

With 16 people having received their gifts thus far, there have been surprisingly no repeat games. Last year alone, six people received Hades.

Oh god, when I sent Stingers a Friend Request I knew that if he was my Santa that I'd end up with the game I've been waiting for to actually push myself into resuming a game I've put off because of not having the third game. That is, Trails in the Sky the 3rd chapter. But that's not all, he also got me Tales of Vesperia and Baba is You (or in this case, Me).

Quite a crazy load, and since the other Trails game was the first game, we still don't have any duplicates if I've seen correctly. Oh, the Yoku already ended it, for some reason didn't read KCF's latest message.

Nah, two people have received Yoku's Island Express. I never saw az's edited post until Abacus quoted part of it.

Here to vouch for Pirate's Curse as a FANTASTIC game

I played Half-Genie Hero earlier this year (because that one was on sale at the time,) but I've generally heard that Pirate's Curse is the one to play.

Pirate's Curse I think is the only one I've played. Whichever one was part of that Wii U Humble bundle a few years ago.

My love for Pirate's Curse caused me to back HGH on Kickstarter. I was let down. Not that HGH is bad or anything, but it's just so meh compared to PC. The new update that retools difficulty sounds interesting, though.
