OK nobody's come in with corrections so far so we'll proceed to the next phase. (If you do spot an error please still say!)

As stated in the other topic, any tracks in TB contention have the chance to consolidate so at least one of them gets through. In this case, Cosmo Canyon has two contenders of equal standing:

Cosmo Canyon (SSBU)- @Hbthebattle , @skulltrumpets , @WhiteLens

The six of you now have a choice. If the majority of you agree to support one version of the track, it will be automatically placed into the contest and avoid the tiebreak entirely. However, the track not chosen will be eliminated here and now. If you can't come to a majority agreement or none of you want to swap, that's fine, we'll simply proceed to the tiebreak with both tracks.

I'll give you some time to respond, in theory only one of you needs to jump ship to end the deadlock. Good luck!

Well with that, the SSBU version of Cosmo Canyon prevails!

Only one person on the SSBU team was open to switching, but two on the FFVII team were. Sorry Arti if you would've voted differently, but you couldn't overturn that deficit alone.

...I have realised now, though, that we have more consolidations to deal with. There are two Preludes at 2 votes each, and if all 4 nominators unite behind one version, it will have enough votes to get in the contest.

Actually that track isn't the prelude, it's a mix of the main Final Fantasy theme. Weirdly the XII prelude didn't get a single nomination, despite it being so good!

That's correct, but as a different version of the same track managed to reach the tiebreak threshold, I thought it only fair to give it a chance to move forward (as with the two Preludes on 2 each- combined they would make enough votes).

The idea is that multiple versions of the same track may be splitting nominations with each other, making them seem less popular than they are. This is an attempt to rectify that somewhat, and allow a chance to push one version of a track through.

If you don't like the Those Who Fight track in question (or don't feel comfortable in making a judgment here) then that is absolutely fine, no worries either way!

I'll leave it for the night now, hopefully the Prelude folks will pop in at some point. Either way, tomorrow we'll have the tiebreaker, and this is how I plan for it to work.

We have 34 tracks now, and only 13 (or 12, depending on the Prelude outcome) of them can get into the contest. I'll split them into 10 groups of 3 and 1 group of 4 using a randomiser (but I'll make sure to not have multiple tracks from the same game in the same group to avoid LFF). Then in a topic lasting 24 hours, everyone has 1 vote to give 1 song in each of the 11 groups. Simple as. The winner in each group goes through (top 2 will go through from the group of 4). If we need 13 then the highest scoring loser also gets through, if there's a tie for a winner then the final vote will be subtracted.

That's the plan so far, I know it's not ideal but we can't evenly split 34 tracks and get 13 so I thought this could be fun. Open to suggestions.

Yeah sure thing. I'll split the TB into 3 days so people aren't overwhelmed by the amount of tracks and discouraged to listen to them all. The first two days will each have 4 groups of 3, and the last will have 2 groups of 3 and the 1 group of 4.

I'll draw lots to decide which track goes in which group, then put the first TB up today in... 6 hours time. Sorry for the wait, everyone!

I wanted to make sure everybody got a say and it wasn't just a first come first serve kind of thing. If it helps, think of it as a qualifying round or play-ins instead of a TB!

BTW, here is the schedule for now:
TODAY, at 3pm EDT/12pm PDT/7pm GMT: Tiebreaker Day 1 (lasts 24 hours)
Tomorrow, same time: Tiebreaker Day 2
Wednesday, same time: Tiebreaker Day 3
