Nearly one in every 150 people in Israel today has the virus. An average of nearly 7,500 people are infected per day - double the infection rate of two weeks ago.

AstraZeneca is a "traditional" vaccine. It's less effective than the mRNA ones.

You can still get the virus if you have a vaccine. Just like you could still get the flu with a flu vaccine. It does, however, dramatically weaken the symptoms you'll face. I don't know how people like TC still haven't grasped this after all this time. Cognitive dissonance is fierce.

Pumping their numbers while saving money/not having to wait for shipments, presumably. They may have overestimated the herd immunity the non-placebo folks would be able to provide, particularly where Delta is so much worse for breakthrough infections.

That said, as of yesterday, they're sitting at 60% fully vaxxed, so characterizing outbreaks within the country as being evidence that the vaccine isn't working is pretty silly. You don't even need to invoke any potential conspiracy to under-vaccinate people to explain the surge: 35% of the country is still fully vulnerable and Delta's a bitch.

Its disturbing how quickly you jump to defend unverified misinformation posted by a user that has multiple accounts suspended just so it suites your narrative. No doctor is faking giving a patient a vaccine. That is unethical, immoral, and goes against their oath. You should feel ashamed and I expected better of you.

Anyways, as others have already clarified, getting vaccinated doesn't render you immune to the virus, it renders you resistant to its effects. I find it rather telling how you posted the raw case numbers rather than breaking it down into how many were hospitalized, how many died, and what percentage of those numbers were unvaxxed, because everywhere else that has suffered this problem has seen that the vast majority of those suffering severe complications are unvaccinated and those who caught the virus after vaccination almost universally did not require hospitalization.

Incidentally, calling them "one of the most vaccinated countries" isn't altogether accurate.

They're sitting at #25 for first doses and #20 for fully vaxxed (by comparison, the US is at #36 and #34, respectively). That's not bad, and they're clearly doing better than many other places, but there's still a lot of room for improvement.

Maybe there's not one or we don't have the technology yet, though I think everyone should get the vaccine but that might still not be enough. I guess time will tell
