Spoilers as I progress, as usual.

I'm playing with English voice.
Man, Phoenicius Wright is adorable.

Phoenicius is Canadian, he says sorry too much.

And Kazuma's headbands flowing in the air is majestic but also kinda intimidating.

Also once upon a time I tried watching a translated playthrough of this game and I remember Nosa had the cutest baby with him. Looking forward to that.

Oh so the inside of the bottle isn't poisoned.

Okay, I got it. She poisoned a needle or some such, glued it to the tip of the bottle and when she opened it, since it was carbonated, the cork shot (making a sound not unlike gun shot) at the professor and the poisoned needle injected Curare. Then she only needed to carry the thingie away on her person.

It did feel like it.

Okay, glad that case was wrapped up. Sucks that Miss Mask * D'Masque won't get tried here. Maybe it's a Dahlia situation and she'll get convicted in a later case.

Now let's set sail to chapter 2! Shout out to these chapter case graphics being uniquely bespoke to each setting.

The murderer is...Phoenicius! Again! We're the new Maya it seems.

And the victim is...
Nooo :(( our bro for life. Damn. This sucks.

Did we really stowaway in the luggage and (as Susato put it) "lived" in the wardrobe like a Pevensie sibling? lol

These letters are weird. I think it says...Garderon...? Garderos? or maybe it was tampered after and the letters originally said Tarabrob or something...whatever that is.

Or maybe it said wardrobe and he wanted us to be found before we starved to death. Aww Kazuma. :"3

Also from the little prologue cutscene my hot take is that someone sent a trained snake through the vent to bite Kazuma.

...and now we have this freakishly large Herlock Sholmes destroying the crime scene.

Ooh I also didn't know this! I'm much more of a Christie dude. Also I was trying to figure a pun but there's probably none there. But we did get Bif Strogenof so all is well.

And I gotta say... I thought Inspector Hosonaga's bloody coughs would come into play in the first case but it didn't. And he's back here. Maybe it's for a future case.

He's a bit weird but he's really sticking up for us, so he's cool. Poor guy got mauled by the captain.

Also the new Course Correction mechanic is...fine. It's not bad but it's super easy compared to the other gimmicks like Little Thief, Logic, Logic Chess, Perceive, Athena's emotion matrix thing, etc.

Hmm, some weird unexplained things

1. The bell to call waiters seemingly don't work
2. Hosonaga, Phoenicius, and Herlock all have headaches - and gas was mentioned, so maybe some sort of knockout gas was used?
Also Bif didn't fill the ship log after 2AM this morning.
3. The bookcase/sea god statues might have something to do with the case as well. Mechanism to open the wardrobe secret door perhaps?
Maybe after spreading knockout gas throughout first class passenger deck, Ninalova opened the wardrobe hidden door and...killed Kazuma...because she's an assassin? Or there was someone else there...

Hmm new theory time.

Someone drugged the whole ship's dinner because they knew that Pavlova is in the ship and they wanted to steal the tiara. But since Kazuma didn't eat any of the killer killer chicken dinner, he was still awake. The thief mistakenly entered Kazuma's cabin and the two fought but Kazuma was killed.
Then the thief locked Kazuma's cabin, used the hidden door to get to Pavlova's cabin, but couldn't steal the tiara because of Pavlova's pet standing guard. Then they... escaped. Perfect!!! /jk

Oh hmm if the ship's thrown off balance the door would lock on its own. So there's a possibility that there's a big coincidence at play here. Let's say when the ballerina wanted to board the ship, she came here on another vessel. That's how the door got locked from the inside.

But then...did the killer plan for it? Did they just leave, knowing that Nina would come on board?

Let's say there's an assassin. He drugged the ship, killed Kazuma, left, and since he's part of the Russian ring that's helping Nina get away, he knew that the door would be locked. Or she I guess.

Yeah, and probably what many players will assume as well (like I did myself) lol.

Okay, so Bif's uneven coloration is probably because the snake is his pet. And he probably named it something cutesy too, like...Katerina?

Oh, that's right.

I was thinking how the case had similarities to 1-3 in that the murder was arguably an accident caused by an untimely push, but the culprit dug herself deeper by tampering with the scene of crime in the hope of getting away.

Anyway, TGAA-2 done! It was pretty good, I like how there are a lot of twists and that the culprit is still portrayed somewhat sympathetically. Although her breakdown was a bit disappointing, animation-wise.

RIP Kazuma though T.T
