Ah, enjoy the final and very long stretch of the game!

Anyway, here's my case ranking!

10. G1-2
It was kinda weird not having a trial segment. But other than that, the mystery is kind of...silly. That ballerina lady was almost pitiable but she was just too meek and her personality/backstory wasn't really likable that I'd personally sympathize with her. Also, the impact of Kazuma's 'death' wasn't too apparent on Phoenicius, and there was basically no reason for him to force us to sleep inside a wardrobe since there was a lock to his room (unless it's an SM kinkplay kinda thing...) except for case reasons. It was also a very claustrophobic case for the players since there were only like three rooms and two of them were basically the same (though yeah it made sense in-story).
Basically, there was nothing that made it stand out in a good way and quite some flaws.

9. G1-4
This ranking was hard. I actually enjoyed this case okay, perhaps more than the majority, since I did like the Garridebs. But Joan's tea mishaps got a bit too repetitive at times. I also liked Roly and think he's quite cute (and Pat is alright). The case itself did drag a bit but compared to later cases...it wasn't all that abd.

8. G1-5

Hmm, it still didn't feel quite right putting the final case this low. I actually had it higher than G1-3 at first but changed my mind about it. This was long, the trap-door-maker gadget thing was quite silly and pivotal to the case, and the characters involved didn't really have personal importance yet. Maybe Gina, but really it didn't feel like we get to really know her before this case anyway, and it was frustrating that she wouldn't tell us her side of the story, which would have made for a much smoother sail.
...and I don't want to look at a stereoscopic image ever again.
And the culprit was...well, he certainly had style, but I can't remember what his breakdown was like and that's pretty bad tbh.

7. G1-1
It was a pretty solid opening case! I enjoyed basically all the characters (and I think characters are really one of the biggest factors for my enjoyment of AA cases). Auchi was a great first opponent, Kazuma was charismatic, newbie Phoenicius was adorable, Iyesa and Kurio were fun witnesses with classic AA quirkiness, and Jezeille was fun to take down had the best breakdown animation.

No real complaints here. It was unsatisfying that the culprit escaped punishment we were left hanging about Jezeille's motivations until 30 more hours, especially since it was the first case. Well, in hindsight, it made sense why they made it that way, but still, it didn't feel good at the time.

6. G2-1
Ah yes, the opening case that was better than most of the preceding game. It had twists and turns, I love Menimemo (and he's kinda hot tbh), and IDK, I think the motivation of killing her because she was a racist jerk was a good and refreshing one lol. I also enjoyed seeing Susato as Ryutaro (or as my friend and I called him, Phoenicles). It was also nice to have a beach as the setting, though only in flashbacks and photos. And unlike G1-1 we have a clear motivation and comeuppance for the culprit.

5. G1-3
This was a very interesting case, especially everything surrounding McGilded. It was a great change of pace defending someone who we suspected were guilty, and whose tampering got more obvious as the case went on. Really memorable stuff.
Well, unfortunately the witnesses weren't all that memorable, I guess 'cept for Gina but she came late. Shout out to that adorable old lady juror though.
As it stands, this case takes the crown for the first game.

4. G2-4
I was really shook when I learned that the victim was Inspector Gregson! He was a bit standoffish at times but he played the detective role really nicely.
This case had some solid witnesses (the Gossip, Venus, and Sandwich trio was entertaining and so was the Hairy League duo, and Barry Caidin was quite interesting and imposing). Unfortunately it was cut short before it really reached any sort of climax or resolution...and I actually have a hard time remembering where it cut off since it was like...very much the opening part to G2-5. But well, it's not like I don't like it.

3. G2-2
Poor Olive Green...I liked her a lot, I really do. I have photos of each of her animations in the witness stand lol.
Okay, as a case, it was interesting how it was a continuation from G1-4. Shamspeare was annoying but at least it felt good to take him down, that scoundrel. It was also interesting to have one of the jurors join us as a witness. Overall, it was just a solid case with a great cast of characters that can stand on its own but was helped a bit by its connection to other cases.

2. G2-5
Ah yes, the ultimate case that tied everything up.
It had great character moments and it was interesting to take down a judge. But it dragged a bit and it was very, very, very long. And it felt slightly forced that we dragged everything out to solve a case 10 years ago.
I also didn't appreciate how we didn't have an 'evidence clean-up' system like...Trucy's magic panties. Goddammit Great Ace Attorney, you made me miss her magic panties. >_>
TBH most of my impression here was marred by just how long and arduous it got towards the end. But I think...it tied up everything from the duology really nicely. I'm quite impressed by the plotting that went into this game, though the pacing could've been worked out a little more.

1. G2-3
Ah yes, G2-3.
The World Exhibition or whatever it was had been hyped up since the first game and to finally come and see it was quite nice (though there was no crowd). It had some very nice locations and witnesses and man do I love Gina as an Inspector. And little Chief Officer Toby too!
As an aside, I really wanted to go to a Madame Tussaud's and a few years ago I got the chance to and had a blast there! So I'm happy we got to visit Madame Tusspells's here.

Other than that, boy, Enoch was one awesome antagonist. I love his animations the most out of everyone, I think. Oh, oh, and the Deduction segment with the anti-gravity scene was neat-o too. Dr. Courtney is also an interesting and intimidating character, but she was sadly a bit underutilized.
And the mystery of the case was quite meaty too with some tricky solution towards the end but it was

Anyway, there was a lot to love about this case. It was lengthy but the pacing itself was quite good, I feel. There was always some sense of progress and not too much dallying at any one point of contention. With great vistas and characters, it was my favorite case in the duology!

That's extremely close to my ranking exactly. If you exclude 1-1, 2-1 (too high), and 1-3 (too low), the other 7 cases are in the precise same order I have them. And even then, those weren't far off from mine.

2-3 > 2-5 > 1-3 > 2-2 > 2-4 > 1-5 > 2-1 > 1-4 > 1-1 > 1-2

Wow, this is pretty much mine exactly. The fact that 2-1 is so low even though it's one of my favorite first cases show how good this duology is. Although 2-1 to 1-4 is a pretty huge drop lol.

Made it to the second set of witnesses in case 9's trial.

1 - I suspect it will be a one day trial ala game 1's cases.

2 - Did I just spot a Ghost Trick reference in this set of witnesses?

Speculative spoilers

Thinking back, I must say I can already see some terrifying possibilities in just the first cross examination. Did kind of fumble the present until I reexamined my evidences though.

I guess next question is when to continue. I can almost smell the end now, so I'm thinking of sitting on it until Sunday where I can complete in one sitting.

Yeah, a lot of people got stuck there, including me!

Nice! Honestly, the thing that slightly held 1-3 back for me was its lack of resolution, much like 1-1. Well, we did get a resolution two cases later...

And it's done. Some pretty good twists in there that I didn't predict correctly, some easily predicted due to past Ace Attorney experience.

(spoilers for some of my old theories)

Stronghart = Damon Gant was easy to predict, even from game 1 case 3 onwards.

Genshin = Joe Darke was a bit of a curve ball since Genshin is essentially reverse Joe Darke. I thought Genshin throat punched 4 evil nobles to death with his ring to produce the gashes.

Which of course meant that Klint =/= Neil Marshall.

Didn't see the double red herring for Iris coming.

Oh gosh I was afraid Yujin might die the minute I heard he was coming to Britain.

Congrats! Hope you enjoyed it overall.

Those theories are pretty interesting! And I too thought Yujin might be either turn out dead, accused, or guilty. But he actually survived the game relatively unscathed.

Ooh here's hoping that Switch arrives quickly. Looking forward to your thoughts as well!
