I was ecstatic with the Magic's pick. The stadium erupted when the Raptors took Barnes as we knew that meant we were getting Suggs. Genuinely can't believe he fell to us.

Wagner is kind of whatever. There was a large grouping of talent there so I guess going with the high floor defensive guy is fine.

Little bit weird that we basically gave away pick 33 with how the board was. it's unlikely that any future 2nd will be as high as that. There's some guys I would have liked to take a flyer on or give two way contracts to.

I think his first year as a Laker when he actually got injured for a significant period of time was the sign that we'd seen the best of Lebron because he was seemingly indestructible before then. He managed to pull one out last year, but I wonder if the large break allowed him and AD to recover enough for that playoff run.

I've heard it discussed on some pods, but I really think the better move would've been to go after buddy hield. As Zach Lowe put it, "If lebron is the best 3 point shooter on the team, then you've failed to build around lebron properly."

Instead they went out and got another ball dominant guard who can't shoot. They already struggled to score last year, their spacing is going to be so bad.

KD was supposed to be the next guy but he got injured. Kawhi had a shot but the Clippers clippered. Curry was in the mix too but he also got hurt. So there was no one to takeover and Lebron kind of just took advantage of that and the whole bubble situation to get one more, but yeah I think the Lebron era pretty much ended when he missed the playoffs his first season in LA

also I don't think they're going to be very good with Russ

i'd still put the lakers as the best team in the west when healthy, though arguably last year was more typical of davis's playoff health than the bubble year

After watching the Malice in the Palace documentary, my conclusion is the Pistons fan they interviewed who walked onto the court and got clocked by Jermaine O'Neal had it coming
