through like Gen 6 probably I could confidently name any Pokmon you show me and tell you its basic info

now sometimes I see one and Im like wait whats that thing called. I probably couldnt name like half of the Ultra Beasts or whatever that electric guy that was only in Ultra Sun is

so I need to request Nintendo and Gamefreak stop making new Pokmon until I can get all this worked out

Snap is definitely what inspired this topic. Im not sure theres any that I straight up couldnt identify, but there were for sure some I was a little unsure on.

Most legendaries are just overdesigned messes at this point.

I never had a problem keeping up with Pokemon, I just stopped playing the games around Sun and Moon so I'm often blindsided by the new ones.

Zapdos is a fantastic design, simple and neat.

Moltres does look like a rubber chicken tho

Galarian Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres look better than the originals IMO.

Not many enough! Go up to 1000 then nuke thr series or something

If I'll do a sporcle quiz i'll probably be able to name like 880 out of 898
Not because I don't know them, but because i'll get a brain fart or something and forget
If I read the name instead I will be able to remember which Pokemon it is

Weve had legendaries in single regions since Gen 2, technically 1 but there was only 1 region at the time

I actually didnt. I read "good grief" and interpreted the only reason regional legendaries is bad is that they are limited to a single region at the moment. I am bad at word and brain stuff

i could probably go like 145/150 in a sporcle quiz on the originals, but even though i played the hell out of gen 2, i'd be guaranteed to forget a shitton of incredibly unmemorable ones

it's kind of weird stepping into later-gen games and not having any clue which gen these dudes originated from. the pool does feel unscalably vast now, and i no longer have any desire to know them all. black/white made a good move by eliminating all the old ones for the first half of the game, imo.
