It was this game called Defcon 5 . You were alone on space station and you had to defend from all this this stuff. And they did a good job of making you feel alone. You know some games are empty or bearing. But this one made you feel alone. I don't know how they did that with PSX early graphics .

I want to say it was called The Blue and the Gray but I'm not finding it.

It was a shareware game between maybe 1993 and 1996. \

Game started out either as the north or south and you chose your cabinet. With Lincoln it was possible to get like West Virginia immediately, Kentucky, Tennessee, maybe Missouri. Deep south always seceded but you might get a couple of states to stay if you appoint someone from there in a good position or don't react too aggressively with Ft. Sumter.

Up until Diablo 2 it was probably my most played game. It was a DOS game, had to c: that shit.

Such an awesome concept that played out especially fun in the multiplayer mode. I wish someone would do something like it again. Or better yet that theyd remake FF.

This was a cool game. There is a sequel that came out not too long ago on Switch and PS4. I haven't played the sequel yet but it looks like it is worth checking out.

Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead

A rogue-like zombie apocalypse game with a TON of cool simulation as well as means of improving your situation, skills, and equipment. One of the best traditional rogue-likes ever made and still being community developed.

Caves of Qud

Similar, a rogue-like set on a bizaree world filled with dungeon crawling, mutations, cyborg implants, and telepathic powers.

Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation

An awesome Gundam-style tactical rpg utilizing the original robots and characters created for Bandai's Super Robot Wars franchise. The game is weird and unapologetic, has awesome mechs and customization for a GBA game, and a direct sequel that's just as good. It's one of the few games in the series that got a NA release (for good reason, honestly).

I assume it died with flash, but Galaxy Online 2. Typical gacha bullshit, and the neverlose mmo basis, but once you accepted that, it had an incredibly robust ship design and fleet combat system. Both pvp and pve.

Which reminds me of another. Space: glory through conquest. Not quite as deep ship building, but it was an actual game, with winners and losers, played out over a couple months. It died a long time ago, as the player base dropped out and weren't replaced. A fan group brought it back a couple years ago as squadron of light, but they rebuilt it from scratch and missed or cut a lot of the original content.
