Probably! I avoided the stock market and even retirement accounts that invest in stocks (except my pension) because I didn't want to pay commissions and then I didn't want to lose money. Then I couldn't get real estate and I'm like "uh I guess I can play with stocks, I have nothing better I can do with this to help improve my life"

It's okay. Investing is hard and it takes time and resources to learn. Better to learn lessons with smaller amounts of money than larger amounts.

Yeah, and I personally only really had money to do it recently. I used to play with stock simulators years ago but it seemed pointless because I didn't see how I could make money in reality if I could only put in $50-100 at a time and pay $10 per trade or $15 per month.

It's so different now and it's great. I just wish I were better at investing or trading. Oh well, I'm only down $300, I can do worse in Vegas.

So I've been buying into various cryptos using 5% or less of my available stack, trying to only be in a few different ones at a time. But I've freaking doubled, tripled and quadrupled down on these repeated crashes and while my cost basis is significantly lower than if I'd just thrown everything in from the beginning but now everything I've earmarked for crypto is "in" and all i can do is wait passively.

Granted I have confidence in all the tokens I'm currently invested in and they only have to partially recover for me to profit, but I'm effectively on the sidelines until that happens. It's not a great feeling.

And if there is another significant drop I imagine I'll divert some other money to buy that dip too to keep pulling my basis and exit points lower and lower but I really don't want to do that.

Prior to this I had already considered that 5% initial increments were too big and i was going to start transitioning to a 4 or 3% strategy (or lower) to avoid exactly this situation but I hadn't quite made the switch yet. Alternatively I could have picked my favorite 1 or 2 to average down rather than buying back into 4 or 5 different tokens multiple times. I could chase just those 1 or 2 further down and then wait longer on the others.

It's a learning experience just an uncomfortable one.

My outlook is I would be more worried towards this not being recovered if it was just bitcoin. Seems like people are losing their minds just a matter of timing when that ends.

Every so often, I have a dream that prepares me for something bad. It might tell me to be careful. Once I had a dream telling me to buy MGM and I did and made good money.

My dream last night told me that it's going to be a bad day. But despite how much money I'll lose, I'm still okay financially because of the cash that I still have. I might as well hold. And not worry about it.

My stock portfolio dropped to its lowest level. The crypto I bought in the dip fell 36% overnight. It's a very bad day for me. And the market hasn't opened yet.

Just want to say for anyone that might have a bad day: don't panic. You might want to take a break from things today or maybe buy more if you're feeling bullish.

I'm holding ADA, bare minimum, for 4 years so when I woke up my eyes absolutely lit up.

My current position on ADA:

-Bought some at 2.23 when it was hovering between 2.20 and 2.40. It had resistance any time it neared 2.05
-When it broke 2.05 I bought more at 2.01

From there it kept flirting with my new average price and staying juuuuust under my sell order.

-Then during the big drop last night I bought more at 1.65
-And this morning I picked more up at 1.20

My average price is 1.702 now and it's already in striking distance with the recovery. (well it was around 1.60 when i started this message but now it's around 1.45) I'll probably sell at only 1.71 or 1.72 just to close the position and then I can comfortably re-enter with a single portion rather than quadruple.

It is worth nothing that this isn't ALL of my Cardano, it's just my current trade-chain. Every time I realize a gain I sell only enough tokens to get half the gain in USD which means there is always a few tokens left over. So if i buy $100 worth and it goes up by 5% I sell just enough to get $102.50. So I have a stash of "free" cardano and doge and VET and any other crypto i've realized gains on. This was particularly useful with DOGE because i was accumulating free DOGE when it was trading at 5-8 cents and then it more than quadrupled in value.

It feels like an overly cautious strategy at times, but it's been working well so far, and even with the previous 24 hours I was still able to pull my costs down to attainable places. I just need a couple to hit and I can breathe a major sigh of relief.

I don't know how extended you'd feel, but my strongest advice to you that I'll ever give anyone is to just transfer all of your ADA to a staking wallet and hold it there for 3-5 years.

You'll get 5% rewards per year and contribute directly to the project, which I can see seriously taking over ETH's spot in the next 5 years in terms of market cap and usage.

I'm all in on the Extha strategy. Cardano seems very well positioned and I think even at the rebound prices, if your long term holding you can expect major gains in the next few years. I wouldn't bother day trading it, just buy the dip and wait

On binance.us I already get nice staking rewards for my balance of ALGO or ATOM so I typically keep those two in my rotation. It says 8-10% annually for ALGO and 6-9% for ATOM. I would definitely consider at the very least sending my "free" tokens into another wallet since I don't plan on touching them any time soon.
