Also this is like... the most complicated fucking character stat screen I've ever seen. I don't understand what half of any of the things actually correspond to. I guess I'll bash head at the game til I eventually learn but holy crap I have no idea what to do

Ended up rolling another girl after 3 fulls. I dunno how good that is but there are a lot of limit breaking. I'd imagine they'd let you roll quite a bit if nearly everything can be limit broken

Ok, I understand most of what's going on. It took me a ton of reading and just trying shit out. So... omg I don't even wanna explain it. Just make sure to see what buffs the story cards give you, and have it match the description of the spell cards when you click on their details. There are like 6 bullets per attacks and spells, and they're all different. Like one character can have a spell that's mostly like water yin normal bullets and like metal yang heavy bullet on another skill or some shit. So you have to... look out for em, I dunno lol

Also recently I ticketed for Mk 99's weapon, only to roll it like today -_-. I'm fine with it, but now I want to go all the way and unlock the LB5. That hammer is starting to be pretty attractive right now

I'm saving up for the hammers now. I've decided that's more important than the weapon. The 900 box was a bit more attractive when I had less ex weapons but not so much anymore.

I'm re-rolling Touhou Lost Word now. The pre-tutorial 10-roll is super fast to do over and over (it happens right at the start with no download needed and you reset by clearing the app data), you get four additional 10-rolls after the tutorial thanks to the preregistration rewards, and the prime re-roll target Youmu is also conveniently the first rate-up banner. So my re-roll process is to do the tutorial roll, restart if it's not Cirno or Youmu, and if it is Cirno or Youmu, do the tutorial and the rest of the rolls. I've already gotten three accounts with either Cirno or Youmu + one other new character (and created a transfer code to pull them up again if I decide to use one of them or give them to someone else) but no Cirno + Youmu account yet.

I am slightly concerned that there's already one character (Yuyuko) who's available in a paid bundle but isn't the normal gacha pool at all. If this is just a little bit of "early access" and she'll be in the normal pool fairly soon, then it's not as big of a deal. But if she's totally exclusive to those paid pulls or if we end up waiting a long time before she enters the normal pool, then that could be a bad omen.

I'm re-rolling Touhou Lost Word now.

This is the first game in a while that I didn't have to reroll in. Managed to get Youmu only first multi of her banner.

The tutorial felt pretty drawn out but I'm really enjoying the game so far. Going to try and hoard my currency for as long as possible.

Arc the Lad R and MitraSphere Global also released yesterday for those who were itching to try them, but they're not worth playing IMO. Arc is ugly and runs like crap (on my phone at least). Mitra is just Crunchyrolls version of Sinoalice..... enough said.

Still re-rolling... my best two accounts I've gotten so far are one with Youmu + Patchouli and one with Cirno + Sakuya + limit break dupes for Reimu and Sanae. If I don't get a Cirno + Youmu account by the time my phone battery dies (it's at about 40% right now) then I'll probably stick with that second one and try to roll for Youmu while her rate-up banner is still around. On a side note...

Oh yeah, when should I start tackling Operation Siren? Ive completely ignored it as Ive been focusing on getting the PR ships I wanted. But seeing as how I have Neptune and Mainz and am relatively close to Friedrich, I was wondering if its time to try it out. Thats where you get materials for the gear lab right?

I couldn't get a Cirno + Youmu roll and I got sick of re-rolling. I did get a really nice account of Youmu + Luna + Chen + limit break dupes for Youmu and Marisa, which is pretty darn good. Even without my favorite girl in the game at launch, that line-up is worth keeping.

I also got the following other accounts and saved their transfer codes, so if anyone wants to play Touhou Lost World and would like to start with one of these instead of going through the re-rolling process yourself, let me know and I can PM you the transfer code.

Yeah... the game feels convoluted in general and I decided this wasn't going to be for me and uninstalled.

It took a bit of time for me to get used to it, but once I thought about it more, I realized that pretty much everything in this game's combat/equipment system has an equivalent that I've already seen (likely under a different name) in other gacha games.

Operation Siren sucks, but if you have some good fleets, you can do some autobattling to get your daily Ashes boss fights done. You'll need to do those (plus the three free daily helper battles) to power up your META ships. I think you need 25,000 points per season to get them all boosted properly. You can power them up in their off season with special objects, but you can't raise their star levels. If you start now, you should be able to unlock Ark Royal by the time the next one (Takao, presumably) begins.

Touhou system is slightly simple once you go through the pain of understanding wtf is going on, though some things are still poorly explained like the best way to get p points or what type of bullets do wtf against who. Also the UI is terrible for having so much mechanics everywhere. Equipping the right cards to the right spells was probably one of the most painful experiences in a while. A small simple pop up when you freaking hold the cards would've been nice

Lul welp, PAD hit the 10k likes milestone for the free 8* pull at the Demon Slayer collab in only 2 days with 2 weeks to spare. That's between Tanjiro (who's the chase card), Rengoku, and Muzan. I think Rengoku is kinda mediocre, but it's not like he's bad. Muzan is incredibly niche but very good if you have the box for him. So for me, that's 66% to hit well.

Meta ships are the primary reason to play OS, but you gets lots of gear resources like purple and gold plates, and everything you need to upgrade your equipment in the gear lab which is the only way to get some of the best equipment in the game. Endgame worthy grind though.

Only games I've dumpstered that I spent money on was AFK Arena and Arknights.

I just remind myself that my time is more precious, and that I can't be wasting it on something just because payment was involved. It's the equivalent of the hostage takers already getting the ransom, but still haven't returned your waifu, because she was the mastermind behind the whole thing and they're hoping to trick you into giving up more.

At some point you just rig their hideout to explode, bar the doors and windows, and walk into the sunset without looking back.

Now one might argue that it's better to take breaks than quit a game entirely, but remember that most of us play these things to unwind in the first place.

They *are* the break from whatever doldrum we were dealing with, and when they become a chore in one's mind, it's not necessary to put up with it if you don't want to.

Of course everyone varies in what they consider fun or intolerable, which is why even if one steps away from a game, we still try to be respectful of those who continue on. (You're still free to call your ex-husbandos or waifus a greedy bitch behind their back though.)

I always feel better after I quit a particularly demanding game. Like that new-ish FFBE game. Really wanted to like it, but it was so player and gacha unfriendly that I realized I was giving way more than I was getting back from it and I was miserable. Nothing is stopping you from going back after a while either. I quit Azur Lane for over a year and I still play it every day these days for the last several months.

Yeah, when you need a break from your break, that tends to be a bad sign. I think I took a break from TAC before, but it ultimately led me down the same path. Man it kinda sucks knowing that I paid money to do something that I didn't want to do :<

One thing I already like about this Touhou game is the fact that the amount of spirit points (AKA stamina) it costs to do a quest depends on the number of characters you take into it. You can use more characters to help you win or have low-level characters you want to level up in the back row away from the battle at the cost of more SP, or you can blast through a material grinding stage with only one high-level character's AoE attacks for really cheap.

Plus, it looks like the SP cap (the max you can carry before you stop automatically generating more) is so high that it would take multiple days of inactivity to actually hit the cap and let the regen time go to waste. I don't feel the same pressure of "I need to use up all of my stamina before I go to bed or it'll go to waste oh fuck I leveled up and refilled my stamina so now I have to stay up longer to use it" that I feel with other gacha games.

This talk of how to leave a game you spent money on made me stop and think of my own experiences. The games I quit and never spent money on, Ive never had an urge to go back. Of the ones Ive spent money: Azur Lane I still play and probably will for a long time unless the CCP gets them to stop releasing adult (as in age) ships (explanation of that under all this); Priconne I still play but only because its something to do while I auto stuff in AL; Illusion Connect I dropped soon after launch due to frustration, tried again a couple of months ago, dropped after 2 days, and most likely will never have the urge to play again; Venus 11 shut down Global and while I miss it a lot, the stories were the main draw so I cant bring myself to play JP; and Girls Frontline I quit because after a year of playing I got depressed at how bad I continued to be at it, which sucked because I loved it. Its the only one I have to fight the urge to play. What I miss is the story and I would love if there was a way I could watch all the story without playing. That would get rid of my urge.

Quite a few of them are popular ships, and all but Yuubari are adults. All the popular lewd lolis were left intact. Im mostly joking about the possibility of them stopping making grownup ships, but if the crackdown continues I do worry a bit...

Also I noticed that when you use Last Words with Youmu she says the same thing that Cloud says in Dissidia Duodecim when he does Omnislash ver. 5 lol. "Subete wo tachikiru", which roughly translates to "tear everything to shreds"

The last battle of chapter 1 in Touhou Lost Word (a boss battle against Yukari) was a huge wake-up call. Having a sufficiently-leveled character who can hit one of her two type weaknesses (Moon or Wood) and/or characters who can hit really hard with no-element damage is really helpful for this one. Luckily, I had Luna Child for the former and both Chen and Youmu for the latter, but even with those and the guest Reimu specifically having Youkai-killing bullets that are effective against this specific boss, it still took me three tries and some lucky timing with grazes to win.

I like boss battles that can't be easily auto-battled like other stages and take a good strategy to win, but I'm kinda scared what'll happen when I hit a tough boss where I don't have a character that can hit their type weaknesses.

That aside, the issue with these ships in particular seems to be exposed cleavage, which is naturally going to affect more adult designs than loli designs. It's absolutely not going to push them into releasing only lolis. There have been skin removals and edits in the past for CN server that were done due to CCP guidelines, and AL still continues to release fanservicey designs for all kinds of ship girl designs. IIRC, one of the higher ups at Manjuu complained vaguely about people being unreasonable before the ship removals were announced, so they're clearly not happy with the situation either.

For reference, previous changes and removals were not exclusively adult designs. Le Malin, Vauquelin, Bearn, Mutsuki, Terror, Kagero, and Isokaze have all had skins removed due to complaints to the CCP. You could include Ayanami, Tartu, Ikazuchi, and Mullany in there as well, as they are more teenager designs, rather than adult designs.

St. Louis's party dress is already limited. It's not currently available in any shop. Additionally, she has had a skin removed before. Her New Year's kimono skin is permanently available on JP and EN, but was removed from CN. Why her default skin wasn't flagged for censorship in April I don't know, but it does show just how arbitrary the censorship is. The best guess we have is that the CCP only reviews the skins and ships that get reported, and that no one has reported St. Louis's default skin yet.

Officially, the only reason given for the removals and edits of skins and ships is due to "relevant policies". Reasons like "exposed cleavage" are ultimately guesses based on patterns observed. Exposed cleavage is about the only commonality among the ships that were in the April censorship wave, which is why it's assumed to be the reason. This isn't helped by the fact that several previous censored versions of skins have a tendency to cover up exposed cleavage. It's not the only thing that gets censored, just one of the most noticeable.

Edit: I forgot to mention, but there's also speculation that the last censorship wave for CN is part of a flamewar between Arknights and Azur Lane fandoms in China. Hold up, they removed ALL damaged art in GFL? I didnt get a chance to read everything, but I saw that and am seriously baffled. Damaged AK-12 is my adjutant because I think its the only time I can see her with both her mask on and eyes open :<

Also its pretty cool looking in general since she has a knife too :3

Apparently. I don't play GFL, so I don't really follow it much, but the CN servers removed all damaged artwork.

Edit: Also forgot to mention, in regards to the removed ship girls on CN Azur Lane, the patch notes said that the removal wasn't planned to be permanent, and that they would implement another way to get those girls in the future. Likely this means that the girls will return at some point after they have censored artwork.

As for the rest, as I said I was mostly kidding. I don't really think they'll switch to just lolis, hence why I said I'll probably continue playing for a long time. I admit I am a biased. I worded my concern more strongly than I should of because I was annoyed that the kinds of characters I like (adult with at least a modest bust) were more heavily targeted for removal over the kinds I don't like whereas skin censorship seems to be more evenly spread. Just like people with the opposite tastes would be annoyed if the reverse was true. It's the removal of them, even temporarily, more than anything. Even blacking them out like I've heard the KR version does to some like Albacore would be preferable. It's just all the CCP shenanigans across entertainment are adding up for me, I guess.

I should have added more to the "I do worry a bit" part. Having two versions of a skin is one thing. The possible greater demand in other regions for a version that shows more skin could make up for having to have two versions, but for the base artwork there is no added profit. Most players seem to try and get all the event characters anyway. I can easily see a company deciding to only design characters that are appropriate for the strictest region since they don't get anything out of having more than one version. And if ones like Kaga, and Ark Royal, who aren't over the top like some of them (I was going to include Wichita in the not over the top category, but her skirt might disqualify her) are considered problematic I could see them deciding to not take any risks at some point if it continues. Very unlikely to happen, I know, which is why I only worry a bit.

Yuudachi is generally depicted as around the same height and build as Yukikaze and Shigure, and generally all three are considered loli. I know I've seen fan art for both Shigure and Yuudachi where they are more obviously teenaged, but in general I feel that most people consider all three to be lolis. At the very least, I don't think Yuudachi should be grouped with Akagi or Belfast as an "adult" ship, especially considering her childish behavior.

It doesn't help that Saru's artstyle in general lends itself to a younger impression, even for girls like Lexington. The retrofit art for girls he's done tend to look more grown-up than their original artwork, but not every girl gets a retrofit.

While I get where you're coming from, I don't really agree with you on how to handle this. Manjuu needs time to get the artwork edited, and probably got an ultimatum from the MoC to do something in the interim. Your solution would keep the girls available, but it would immediately affect not only the people who are trying to get those ships, but also those that already have them. Their current solution sucks for those who are trying to get the ships, but on the other hand the people that already have the ships still get to see the artwork.

Additionally, there's a chance that they'll allow those who already had the ships before the removal to use the old art as a skin when they introduce the new art, like they did with the Colorado class. Blacking out the art and keeping the girls available during the edit makes it more difficult to track who had the ship before the MoC stepped in.

Admittedly, the Colorado class changes weren't due to censorship, but due to other factors, but the precedent is there for the CN server allowing people who had the ship before the change to use the old artwork as a skin, so I think it's possible that it might happen here.

I consider Yukikaze and Shigure lolis but more borderline than a lot of the destroyers, so Yuudachi is the disconnect between me and the majority of people then. But, yeah I wasnt lumping her with the adults. To me shes teen. Out of curiosity, what are rest of Sarus ships considered? Ive never put a lot of thought into it before right now. To me Indy, Vestal, and Lexington are adult; Terror, and Yuudachi are teen with Terror closer to adult than Yuudachi; and Portland I have trouble placing. Her default makes me think teen and retrofit adult, but shes Indys older sister. The rest are loli.

I didnt know about the original art being available as a skin for those who had them. If that will be the case, then I admit the current way they are doing it probably is better. Speaking of original art and differences in skins, I would love if we could choose between the two versions for at least some of them. I prefer the old Hood and CN Torricelli for example.
