So while I don't doubt she is good under certain writers I've actually read a lot of Spider-Man comics-- enough to feel I have an adequate knowledge of Mary Jane anyway, and in most of 90s Spider-Man she's a bunch of nothin. She's also a bunch of nothin in all the cartoons and movies I've seen her in
