Wanted to ask in here about VIAC as well - seems to have nearly doubled in the last month and I'm not sure why. If it's on the back of the Paramount+ launch, this seems like a great put candidate for six months to a year from now, as I don't see that doing too much better than CBS All Access did.

Sold about half of my AMC position today in chunks, all for a profit - currently have 10 shares left as well as a $35 3/19 call that I bought for 9 bucks last Friday that I'm going to let ride until tomorrow.

You bought.... a weekly $35 AMC call?

Holy shit, go hang out on Wall Street bets.

Hey, I recognize that it's basically gambling - most of my money is put in way more safe investments like ETFs and DIS.

That said, it's still up a few bucks from what I paid for it! #yolo

Good, Disney is eternal. Literally don't even look at the stock and then be surprised when you've made some money.

Also pay attention to this topic for tips. I know nothing about DNN for example but I just read this topic and and thought it was worth a little bit of investment and boom I've made like 2k on it.

In general don't hold stock after its exploded. There are nuances to this but I don't think you have the knowledge or desire to really be good at telling the difference. Any time you can sell a stock and get more than 3 times what you paid for it, thats a fantastic day.

The contrast between this topic and the WSB mentality is pretty amazing.

Most of the regulars here are adults who are investing 5-6 figures for steady gains that look spectacular over time. WSB people (and a few users here) instead are looking to ride $200 investments to the moon and get really salty when they are down 15% the day after they're up 200%.

Yes that was a bad sign but when it was +5% pre market I let out a relieving sigh

Bought at 74 (+5 commission) and sold at 216 (+5 commission)
Total profit $132 for a "eh who cares let's just buy 1 stock for the sake of it" is nice
And I actually liked the strategy of just investing a very, very small amount of money into a dangerous stock and watching it grow
Maybe I can handle penny stocks like this...

I wish I had the balls to hold stocks like Tesla for 177% gains without selling after 10% and thinking I made the right call

I'm not salty coz I know the risks with GME this time around and have done plenty more due diligence. I am just looking for some kind of explanation for today's nonsense with the price along with what's going on with crypto.

It's actually a cent per share but the minimum commission is $5 and maximum is 2% (so if my math is correct buying 2000 $1 shares would be $20 commission and this is as high as it gets)
This is pretty bad yeah but this is a average deal here

I pay $5 minimum per trade, which increases per share to a cap of $10 if there's thousands of shares in the trade. Options go higher

I've spent at least $300 in fees in the last few months

It's not that bad if you buy more shares. At $74, buying and selling a single share at the same price would be a pretty big percentage loss.

So I guess DNN did another offering at $1.10 and got quite a sum for it, to the tune of 80 million

What makes this interesting is they're using nearly the entirety of the proceeds to buy wholesale Uranium. 2.5 million pounds of it.

Normally offerings are bearish short term but the amount of capital they got and what they used it for is really interesting. Like they really believe demand and price of Uranium are gonna go up and want to be able to resell it and get a customerbase before their mine is fully operational. It actually sounds really smart.

Just to resell later on? This seems really weird...

This was my initial reaction but I later realized there were a lot of benefits to it when I thought about it.

  1. You have a supply before your own mine is up. This lets you establish a client relationship with potential buyers before you have your own supply to sell. Then once you get your own supply you already have a working relationship with a bunch of interested parties who would want your uranium. Basically ensures once they have their own mines up and running they can immediately flip the uranium rather than having this transition period where they're mining uranium and not selling any.
  2. If you expect the value of uranium to go up, this is basically an investment. If you buy now and resell at 10% profit (or more!), that's revenue coming in. This makes their balance sheet look more appealing to investors too.
  3. If you expect there to be a shortage of uranium soon due to increased demand, you corner the market and make people more inclined to buy from you with less options.
Now I'm not exactly sure why they're doing this these were all my own thoughts. The instinct is "why not put the offering money into accelerating your own mine's development" but oftentimes there is just a bottleneck with these things that funneling money in won't solve.

Yeah, it looks like they have investors buy the Uranium so they can start selling it, and the benefit is that the investors can enjoy the stock when the mine starts producing. I'm not a uranium supply pipeline expert but I figure they don't shop contracts all the time and the # of customers is somewhat limited.

Also hidden fourth benefit (related to the first point) is we're going to get a really good idea of potential revenue floor coming in when the mine is operational because they're going to have sales on record which wouldn't go down when they're making their own supply and in theory they could go up because their Uranium is higher grade so it may warrant a markup or they can afford to take on more clients with their own, but you're going to get a good idea of what the revenue stream looks like which again, investors will like.

FYI this is incorrect. Warrants are weird, often lag behind commons and can be swung dramatically by short term volatility, but even OTM warrants always track commons to some extent. ITM warrants would have a Delta of 1 and would directly follow commons much more closely, but warrants are intrinsically tied to commons no matter what, even OTM warrants that are technically worthless.

AVCTW the last month is a good example of how short term volatility can manipulate warrant prices so to speak, but eventually will be corrected. The lag can just be really extreme.

While this is true the other thing to consider is that the volume on CREXW is very small and the main thing driving the price you see is the Bid rather than the Ask (the latter of which hasn't moved much at all in the past few weeks)

EIther way a $0.20 swing back and forth isn't really going to change the value of CREXW much. A sustained push into higher prices over time. Or a surge into the 3s. But not $0.20.

I think it's a good value and growth play. The potential market in China is huge. Just be aware that this stock is known for dropping 50%+ overnight on awful news.
