5 or 6 days a week. I generally do compound power lifting... squats, bench, etc. Occasionally work in machines to do some isolations. I rotate cardio in too but ugh. I don't mind the work, I hate the monotony of cardio. During nicer months I do enjoy biking outside and also disc golfing.

Pre covid I was playing inline and dek hockey once each a week in addition to everything else. I'm an insanely active person and I eat an insane amount of food. Like four pounds of chicken plus two giant bowls of pasta and two avocado sandwiches every single day.

Yes, and I've been going since July or so (reopened after it closed late March last year). The precautions being enforced satisfactorily minimize the risk for me

I went for 9 months back in 2018-2019. It was very tough at first but I coped and after a while started seeing gains. But the gym environment is not for me. The one I used was very popular because it was relatively cheap so was always crowded. It got very tiresome. Even pro fitness and bodybuilders went there. The best part was lowkey checking out all the big booty men. Even the slim ones had ass. But when that became the main draw rather than my own gains I knew I was over it and quit. I still keep in contact with my personal trainer though. So I know if I want to jump on the fitness train again he'll help me. Ideally I want a small home gym where I can work out whenever I feel like and not be around a ton of sweaty loud people. That's gonna cost money I don't have right now.

I go to the gym to run. And that's ok because I have to take a PT test twice a year. Though, I haven't had on in a while. But I heard they start back up in a couple months. Gotta get ready again, but haven't really been able to...

Yeah soldiers have insane cardio capacity from all the running training. There's some buff gym types but just normal military training with tons of running, pull ups etc makes you very athletic so you don't need to lift. I've never seen a fat soldier like you do with police. There's some thick lads (and ladies) but it's more like built not flab.

I have, but I've seen every type by now. Usually, it's the older ones who have been in forever. But most of them get some kind of waiver so they don't have to do the PT Test. That being said, some of those big boys can move!

We also use to have PT either every day before work, or every other day depending on how they were trying to do PT that month/quarter/year... But that didn't really work out. Now it's a train on your own kind of deal on our base for maintenance on our side... But just us, AFAIK. Other places on base still have group PT...

They are similar. HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training and can include weights to add resistance. Tabata is also HIIT I guess, but normally 20 second intervals at an even higher intensity?

I guess I don't know the difference, but there are different videos.

I know a couple retired ones in their early 60s that have let themselves go. Got big guts now. That said you can see all the work they put in when they were young they still have big muscular legs and arms. That's why its important to be active when you younger you age much worse if you're not.

Yeah. Though, most people I know arent big or gym buffs. Most are pretty average. That being, even the average ones stay active...

It depends on if you have the equipment. That being said, you can go to some gyms for free. Like if you know someone whos in the military. They have free gym use on base...

Because the sum total of equipment I use at the gym both wouldn't fit at home, and would be even more expensive to buy compared to 10+years of paying for a membership

I like spin class. I don't have room for a cycling machine. Also, I like the lights and music and that helps motivate me because it makes it fun. Plus I liked to go to the gym with friends, which was also fun and served as accountability.

I have my own stuff at home. I don't have the motivation to go to a gym. It's either have the stuff at home or don't exercise, and if I don't exercise I will become an anxious fatso, which is bad and unfun.
