Board 8 > Welp. My wife and son both got COVID.

Really weird being in the same house as your spouse but communicating almost exclusively over phone. Weve set her up in our daughters room since W (our daughter) and I both tested negative. Its been...well Im mostly just glad shes still alive; she got rushed to the ER from her job on Monday and was there until last night thanks to a pulmonary embolism.

X on the other hand is having the time of his life; we normally control his computer time but since hes almost completely confined to his room weve just been leaving it unlocked for him. His positive test came in yesterday morning. Hes been completely asymptomatic, thank goodness.

So now were just doing everything we can to keep the two positive of us away from me and W. Especially me; I have a three-chambered heart so were pretty sure COVID would be something close to a death sentence. Joy.

Ohio guidelines put me eligible on the 25th, assuming they count a single-ventricle heart as severe congenital or developmental disorders. Which I assume they do; its certainly governed enough of the rest of my life.

Your son's situation reminds of the time I had mono in high school. Basically asymptomatic after a few days, but 2 weeks off school.

Birth defect. Essentially the wall between my ventricles didnt form. You can imagine how much fun that can be. Had a couple surgeries when very young (one at two weeks, one at 2.5 years) to ensure my survival, which seem to have worked out pretty well so far.

W and I went to get retested yesterday, thanks to the exposure we had to X between when we got Stephs result and when we got his. Hopefully we stayed negative since then.

Doing good! Steph and X just got the quick test and came back negative, so were going ahead and starting the process of moving W back into her room. Been a long-ass couple weeks but were thrilled to be starting going back to normal.

Really glad you're putting it all in the mirror. I went through it with nearly my whole immediate family not long ago. My mom is still actually recovering over a month later.
