Anyway. What's your best build doods. How do you approach keepsakes? What heat level you at.

So far my keepsake strategy is:

• Tartarus: God keepsake
• Asphodel: Cthonic Coinpurse
• Elysium: Broken Spearpoint (or Tooth, if I'm struggling
• Styx: tooth

Really like bouncing lightning all over the place. But I guess the easiest build so far has been Ares Doom Special with shield.

Poseidon is underrated I feel. His knock-away and rupture are amazing for general staggering.

it's an action roguelike based on greek mythology with great art, music, and voice acting. made by the folks who made Bastion. I hit 150 hours in 2 weeks

Its way more fun than Bastion btw imo. Not that I hated Bastion, it just didnt grab me.

I've only gotten to Elysium but I've found the shield stacking Poseidon and deflect boons is very, very OP. I only died on the boss fight because I needed to go and was trying to rush it.

Cosmic egg I understand (although jury is out for me as I find chaos too risky except in tartaros), but shattered shackle? how the hell do you make a build without boons...

I'm at 49 runs and 0 escapes <_<. but i did spend a long time there focused on the grind (Blood or Diamonds) and not actually getting as far as i could.

i basically take whatever weapon has the +20% darkness modifier and run with that. both for variety in gameplay and for the gains to darkness.

for keepsakes:

• a God specific one for the first area to start focusing my build where i want.
• God specific for second area if I need specific boons, or the Acorn
• Acorn
• Tooth

his dash is my 2nd favorite (Athena being obvious #1) and works real well for up close and personal weapons like the fists or the shield

you can get boons, just try not to get attack/special/cast boons depending on ur build. chaos and hermes boons dont count

I did this initially but in hindsight I wish I had focused on completion sooner. Sure, it's good to buff up slowly, but (without spoilers) after you escape for the first time your options to get diamonds, blood and everything else open up greatly, and getting blood becomes a more trivial affair

I wish I spaced out my completions. I think I beat the game fully around 70 runs in. Think my success rate should be in the 70%s by now. Highest heat's only 15 tho

Poseidon's dash + rupture + extra barrier damage + hermes extra dashes

Do that^

You can dash across each room and clear it that way

you take the perk gives you bonus coins on completion of each act. first level take the bonus coins. 2nd take w/e god you're working on based on your rng from world 1 or cosmic egg. 3rd whichever defensive you like. 4th an extra life until you get g00d. Until you get spoilers then just use spoilers for everything but act 1 because its strong. once i got spoilers i went from like a 5% success rate to getting 7 in a row and just got the next spoilers which i'll try out whenever i play next.

i like when i get frost/drunken on basic, doom/charm on special, deflect on dash, crit for aspect. I suck ass with the spear but i should probably stop trying to get the last weapon unlock to work since it's drawback seems to set me back to much on bosses.

I don't have one lol. I pick whatever weapon gives me the darkness bonus and just select whatever boons I think will help me out. I tend to get furthest with the spear and deflecting powers I guess. I love dashing through an enemy's attacks and sending 'em back at 'em,

It's only 2 at the point you're at. There is a stage 3 later on, but it's unlockable (and can be turned off).

Athena's dash is super high value yes. Esp if you get increased dashes from Hermes

I watched a boss rush of it. Are the same voice actors for the furies the ones from that one god of war game that had them? The first 2 sounded very similar to me (couldnt tell with the last one because she seemes to just say 1 word >_>)? Seems farfetched but I've seen it happen a lot. Kevin Sorbo voice acted Hercules in god of war 3 and then there was a metroidvania last year i think that had Alucard as a character and he had the same voice actor as sotn Alucard, so I kinda listen for this sort of thing lol

Nah the furies are different people in this game. I think it might be their weird echo voice effects that made you think that

Funny how I thought the bow sucked when I first started the game, but it was the first weapon I escaped with, and I've had by far the most success with it.

Also the Aspect of Hera is pretty fun. Take Aphrodite's cast boon, load all your charges, and nuke the fuck out of something.

I think its a playstyle thing. Arthur's sword absolutely wrecks if you know enemies patterns. Poseidon sword makes cast builds valid.

I struggle most with the spear I think

I think the sword is the most difficult but also when you use the crit boost sword (Nemesis?) you can do sick amounts of damage so if you're good it's good

Just got the epilogue after 90 attempts (68 escapes). Was putting it off for about 10 runs or so while I tried to max out all the relationships I could. Now just have one relationship to max, the Pierced Butterfly and 16 heat achievement, and a 32 heat run.

Really didn't expect to get sucked into this game as much as I did. 114 hours in 3.5 weeks. Starting to get a little burned out though.

Favorite weapons so far are the Fists and the Bow. Mainly Demeter followed by Talos on the Fists, and Zagreus (crit build!) followed by Rama for the Bow.

Arthur is fantastic and Poseidon's aspect is pretty strong too. Although every weapon gets an aspect to help cast builds.

To answer the topic title I've beaten up to heat level 32. I usually roll two God keepsakes first to try and force a Duo boon, or use Hypnos' wallet for the money and just roll with whatever the game gives me. Favorite build is Artemis Special on Chiron with Aphrodite's Attack, and their duo boon.

Loool, I actually consider Aspect of Arthur to be the worst weapon in the game. It's super badass to use though. Poseidon's aspect is nice. Nemesis is stupid broke

IMO the most busted aspects in the game are, in no order, Hestia, Rama, Chiron

A no-attack boon run, sisyphus shackle, + an attack boon from chaos? stupid. I even managed to get +20% move speed from Herm and then 75% of that converted as damage. Really stupid. Critting Hades for 1800 damage

yeah i hated arthur, it was so slow. I did okay with the other aspects, but the bonus crit i liked best. But the bow/rail are by far my best. especially if i get the auto fire/no reload

and the zues artemis dou is really fun, just leave little lighting rods scattered about and room cleared. It's the only way i beat chiron in my 4 attempts so far

it was AMAZING and kept me at near full HP until 3rd boss where I died THREE FUCKING TIMES because im terrible. then i got to Styx and those stupid fucking poison rats that hit like trucks fucked me so fast.

still haven't escaped yet

Demeter wrecks everything in the game, charon included. If you get early chill boons try taking him on again and see how you do

i started playing it with my Xbox One wireless controller.

and holy jumping fucksticks, its way much better to play this way! the difference is like night and day! plus it didnt hurt my fingers as much. lol

That was my worst recent run. I didn't die at the end, but came very close. I couldn't get anything that focuses on one build the entire run, and the way the base weapon works means thebaspect doesn't lend itself to flexibility as much as the other Zags.

You guys don't mean all the zagreus aspects do you? Because the Fist Zagreus aspect may well be the best, if you want to make a high dodge/deflect/damage reduction build. I have my fastest time with that set up. Just coasted all the way through and didn't lose a single life or even less than 80% health, using zagreus fist, athena attack, zeus special.

Picked this up couple days ago and loving it despite bouncing off a lot of roguelite/roguelikes in the past.

Just got my first clear on my 2nd time reaching Hades. I think it was run 20 but I know I dicked around on a more than a couple of runs taking worse/subpar boons to fill out the prophecy list so maybe a little more. Did it using the Eris aspect for the Rail. Demeter cast and call put in work against Hades

I GOT MY FIRST CLEAR LAST NIGHT!

Fists w/Hammer upgrade that heals 4% on special kill, Dion attack, Art Special, Hammer upgrade for quake special. also had 3 damage resistance boons for ~47% resist along with keepsake for +30% resist from the front. after getting Athena boon to restore DD in Sytx, i went into final boss with all 3 DDs in tact and still had one left after beating him.

Go up to your weapon's shade and hit R1. I beat the game before I learned this was a thing

Also check out Skelly's prizes. I beat the epilogue before I discovered those

Select a weapon to equip it. Select it again and you'll see the list of aspects to spend your titan blood on.

Each weapon has 3 additional "forms" with varying abilities that you can unlock using Titans Blood. IIRC they are available as soon as you've done 1 run after unlocking the last weapon (well 2 for each weapon at first since the last one for each weapon is "hidden" and needs other things to happen to unlock) . Pick a weapon then go back to its place and hit the interact button to bring up the aspect menu for that weapon

positioning is important during that fight, don't let yourself get surrounded. i like to start on the far right side and work my way left. athena dash boon helps a TON if you're struggling.
