positioning is important during that fight, don't let yourself get surrounded. i like to start on the far right side and work my way left. athena dash boon helps a TON if you're struggling.

Additionally, having extra dashes really trivializes the fight

oh shit, forgot to mention that in the run i cleared last night i had 2 hermes boons: +2 dashes, 30% move speed. four athena dashes is almost unfair <_<

hahaha that's the exact thought I had when I got 3+ athena boons. it's busted

Thr thing with hydra is just to keep your eyes on the environment and projectiles. Because hydra isn't human form its a little harder to spot its telegraphs, but you have plenty of time. If you're getting hit on that fight its because you got slammed, hit with a slow moving projectile or stepped on lava.

Once you figure out how those three things work it is the easiest boss fit in the game, except perhaps for meg

Picked this up couple days ago and loving it despite bouncing off a lot of roguelite/roguelikes in the past.

Just got my first clear on my 2nd time reaching Hades. I think it was run 20 but I know I dicked around on a more than a couple of runs taking worse/subpar boons to fill out the prophecy list so maybe a little more. Did it using the Eris aspect for the Rail, most of my boons have slipped my mind but I know the Demeter cast and call put in work.

Very next run after my first clear I was taking the Demeter Fists out for a spin, was only really looking to fish for new boons/legendary boons/duo boons for the prophecies and collect resources but ended up taking down Hades again for the 2 streak. Artemis cast/boosted crit chance and damage/plus the skills for fast dislodge and damage upon dislodge tore through bosses, got a Chaos boon that boosted dash attack damage by 900% against armor so Elysium was a cakewalk, and Athena dash to top it all off. My clear time was half of what the first clear was

I fell to the last boss. Had all my Death Defiance too. Some archers fucked me up, and the second form still had half the health left when I died.

14 win streak, gone.

I tried to use Lucifer aspect but I hated it. I think I'll stick to Eris. Nice that if you give up a run all of the titan blood you spent prior to starting it is refunded

I only was enjoying it due to the boons. The damage over time effect of the aspect mixed with the arrows was destroying everything.

Too many archers ALWAYS screw me over, and the ones at the end shot six times in a row. This was also my first run with the +20% damage from enemies pact. I didn't even have any other pact selected besides 1 blue heart.
EDIT: And I just remembered I had 2 Skelly companions. Fuck me, why do I keep forgetting about these?

Thats sucks but honestly that build doesn't sound that strong. Zeus cast is only good for crowd control and Artemisia support fire is nice to have but doesn't add a ton of damage overall. I imagine you cleared crowds well but struggled to take big hits on hades?

Had a similar combo a little while back. Zeus lightning and Artemis support fire with the gun's attack can pile up damage rather quickly. I did have triple bomb though, which might be what let my special with lightning still pile on damage quickly. Without the triple bomb, hangover is probably better on the special for bosses (or a call since the many small attacks help that build up quickly).

I just love that it basically turns the special into a proximity bomb rather than remote trigger only. Probably not as efficient as having them dole out hangover or chill, though.

I actually didn't know there was a pre req. I recently learned myself that only charon's mid chambers offer a chance to fight tho

Yeah I know about the midchamber thing, other places online have said you need to escape once but I dunno if thats even true, if theres more to unlocking it, or if the fight is just fairly rare, I definitely wasnt hitting midchamber shops often before I learned about the fight tho so could missed the opportunity at some point

Bosses went fine. Hydra and Asterius/Theseus went down in just a couple of minutes. Then I got to Hades and my health dropped.

I'm chalking it up to that 20% damage from enemies. I had not done that before that run.

dionyus attack + aphrodite special seems to work real well along with the perk for +40% damage to enemies w/2 status effects, stacked with the aph boon to add %damage to weak enemies. i also got a dion+aph boon to stack more hangover on weak enemies. that stacked with epic Rupture on my cast made for some pretty sick dps drain. also had the quake hammer upgrade, which works well with the nice damage% boost from aph's special, i think i was up to 2xx% after upgrades.

tl;dr: fists work well with dionysus and aphrodite

i've done a lot better with my runs lately thanks to some general advice from you fine folks along with almost maxing out the mirror upgrades. the % boost to epic and rare boons is huge. the renovation to give random boon a level when finding a nectar is p nice too

Tri's right, hestia rail is godly for this. I hit 34% with it

I don't normally watch streamers but I like watching Haelian, gives me lots of tips about how the mechanics work.

also, something I learned recently that there are no trash builds. Not even my "4 chaos curses at the same time" build from yesterday

I did my butterfly 30% (well 36% and rthen I swapped it off for the last set of rooms) with the zeus shield. Just preplace it on an enemy spawn and it stunlocks them, and you can also hide in a corner blocking as it kills things for you. if you play super safe/lame it makes avoiding damage pretty easy

Ive beaten the final boss about 4 times now but I still feel like Im bad at the game. Like I dont feel like I won due to skill, just luck of getting ridiculous builds. Like one time I had like 300 hp and some boons that benefit resurrection, and for the final boss I just rushed him and killed him before he could kill me. Another time I got a ridiculous poison build with the gun and did insane dps. I feel like I could never win with average or below average builds. I almost never get legendaries, duos or heroics

also, what weapons should I focus on powering up first? Im starting to add a little heat to runs so I got a bit of blood now. Also what do I do with darkness once all the mirror upgrades are maxed

Itd be pretty poor design to have you lose rewards to a scripted event, especially if you were playing blind. Youll get your blood dude

Unfortunately you do lose out on your reward. Well, I cant remember if I got the blood or not but I did lose out on the heat clear.

So, I want to go on several single Pact runs to get the Fated List for the ones I haven't done.

I just want to make sure first: will my current max level will remain the same, and will clearing it with a weapon regardless of heat level won't increase the max level more than it is now?

You still get the rewards. It counts as a clear

the only way to increase your max level is to push the envelope. Doing a bunch of little to no heat runs to knock out getting misc duo boons or whatever isn't going to rock any sort of cart. It's sometimes easier to do it on previously-cleared heats because the bosses drop darkness for healing+more HP.

Okay, that's what I was wondering. There's some odds and ends I want to get in the list and level up my swapped talents, and I'm making sure the heat only increases with max heat.
