I guess include the average number of paid sick days you take into this.

I get 35 vacation and 4 holiday plus a few sick days that are more half days from getting mid-day migraines a few times a year.

I got offered a job paying 40% more but the benefits suck compared to my current benefits (10 vacation 10 holiday, less healthcare, no retirement match, less retirement accounts, probably worse retirement account options, maybe no sick days old I have to ask). Im just sorta debating. I'm thinking it's not really worth it and am kinda surprised how much benefits are really worth.

I'm not sure, tbqh. I get about 3 weeks of PTO a year, but not sure exactly what holidays I get paid off.(I started about 3 months ago) I know I already got 4 off, with 2 more coming this week)Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Eve, and New Years).

Normally we have 10 work holidays plus unlimited PTO (which in reality I take around ~24 days off for that not including sick days). Forgot to take into mind the work holidays so voted 24 woops...should have voted 34.

This year we had more though cause covid/mental health, had 9 more days for work holidays and I took some extra mental health days so closer to ~47 this year.

Love working at a University. I get 18 days of vacation, 3 days personal, 9 days of holiday, and another 13 days of sick time. In a few years when I hit 10 years working here my vacation bumps up to 24 days.

I was also amazed to learn I'll get paternity leave when my little girl is born in June. The pay here isn't insane, but the benefits are solid.

Unlike the manager of my department, who seems to devour and use the PTO of everyone that leaves as her own every couple months, I get at least five days PTO per year when it seems like it should be more, and about as many sick days (again, ought to be more). This past year also saw the implementation of two weeks of Covid time off, which I've forgotten what it's called, where they cover up to two weeks of having to quarantine due to the pandemic; or at least this was offered back in April/May.

Current is 18 (that is all PTO: Sick, vacation, and personal holidays). Once I become a full-time employee in a couple weeks, that becomes 24 (15 days vacation, 4 personal holidays, 5 sick days).

After 10 years of working, I get roughly 15 vacation days / 120 vacation hours per year but we are allowed to use our three sick days toward vacation days.

Regarding holidays we typically get 10 a year. New Years Eve, New Years Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and a day before/after, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

10 federal holidays

accrue 1.5 vacation days per month, can typically use vacation on any day. Can't have a vacation longer than 2 work weeks. Can carry time off into new year, but only up to 30 days.

Old timers who've worked 15+ years get 2 vacation days per month. New hires only get 1 per month.

3 weeks paid off, have the option to 'buy' a fourth week (the pay for that week is deducted but divided over every paycheck, I always buy the extra week), 6 sick days, 1 personal. Five holidays paid off. Several other holidays like mlk and Columbus day we get the option to be off for full pay or work for 2.5x pay. I always choose the latter. It's usually dead those days and I get paid extra to browse reddit and pet my cats all day

Time off is definitely a benefit that isn't taken into account by many who change jobs.

I make good money right now, but I'm in a business that doesn't allow for much time off. I've asked them to stop giving me raises and just give me more time off, but they won't do it.

I can vouch for the university / school schedule. When you teach they pay seems low because you are really only working 9 of the 12 months in a year. You can stretch your paycheck over the whole year or just not get paid in the summer. In the past, the benefits were really good as well (they aren't anymore). In addition, you usually get a boat load of sick days during the school year. As far as time off goes, you can't beat teaching as a career option.

My last job? Nothing. I worked graveyards and was not allowed to take time off. I was given sick days and vacation time, but since everything was subject to manager approval, officially I just "chose" never to use any of it.

No formal PTO, but I do get 4% vacation pay, which amounts to being able to take off two weeks per year without dipping below my salary. Also paid holidays.

20 vacation days a year
4 personal days
paid birthday off
3 holidays off usually and work 3 holidays (job is a 24/7/365 place) So New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Can usually pick 3, sometimes can get 4 if lucky and others volunteer for it first.

I have capped out my max sick days at 25, get 5 a year. If you don't use them you lose them(can't just take it as a paid day at end of year if not used BOO). Rarely am I sick enough to actually use 5 in a year so a few usually 3 are more of I don't wanna work or I got something better I could do days.

And we all got a nice bonus this year, equaled to 2 weeks of pay.

Oh yeah and I do this job from home. Did it that way for years now before the Rona, after it hit 95% of workforce went to working from home with very few in the office in case something breaks someone can fix it ASAP.
