Is there a time limit to any new content? Also is Lions Roar good? Almost seems like it might be worth using on my Qiqi since I use Fischl and Xiangling a lot

There is, but nothing that we're really looking at yet. Basically starts tomorrow(?). Gotta get Dragonspine main quest to a certain point before that opens up.

Lion's Roar looks good on any sword user that deals pyro or electro...so, basically Keqing. Maybe a DPS Bennett. That's just me eyeballing it, though. Maybe the +atk % secondary makes it good for others, too, and the text is just a conditional perk.

I slightly regret raising world level right before starting Dragonspine. It's not that bad, but there is a lot of damage incoming sometimes.

tag. i think im basically done with new zone besides the weekly stuff. Was pretty cool. Cold mechanic was interesting but i realized that i could just outheal it if i needed too (ie during a boss).

I probably have a little bit of clean up left but will get to it later

Stayed up until server reset, got my 90+50 gems, and did one last ten-pull with the last of my 1.2 gems.

Was preparing to come in here and say that I had more bow users than I had bows. I'm trying to work on Childe, but I've got Fischl and Diona already. Fischl uses Viridescent Hunt in lieu of anything better. It's a good weapon for Childe, but Fischl is a central character to my team, so I can't filch it. Diona uses Sacrificial Bow. I was left with...a Favonius Bow for Childe. What I was really hoping for when pulling on the standard banner was a Stringless to give to Fischl.

And I got one, finally, on the Albedo banner. I did a little bit of a dance in my chair. Maybe there was no five-star in this pack, but that was maybe the next best thing. Oh yeah, and Bennett C1 came two wishes later. Quietly one of the best ten-pulls I've gotten.

Think I got a lot of the story stuff out of the way on Dragonspine. Real nice stuff, especially when I was able to make it to the top.

I still got plenty of the agates to find, only got my tree to level 5. Still got a number of puzzles to solve in the area too, including that one door place you need three keys to open.

All in all, this has been a very welcome addition to the game, and should future content proceed along these lines, this game'll be going places.

Oh wow, now that you guys told me about clearing the mark off with the wall that Tartaglia fight is a complete joke. His first 2 phases are harder than the last because everything is so easily dodgeable on the final phase, he didn't even hit me once today on the final phase. Maybe because I'm using Tartaglia myself and can just pew pew with his regular bow attack the entire fight

Noelle is my first character to hit lv10 friendship. Xiangling and Qiqi arent far behind either

I'm sorry to have made you sad, but I've never even heard of the Raven Bow. I mean, I'm sure I've seen it -- it's a random 3-star -- but I don't know how good you expected a 3-star weapon to be. Literally the only 3-star weapon anyone uses is Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers. I use a similar weapon, Dragon's Bane, on Xiangling, but it's a 4-star and the percent boost to pyro/hydro is also inherently higher. It's still arguably outclassed by a craftable weapon, and therefore not better than one of the F2P options. (For DPS, Crescent Pike is always better, but I use her as support, so it's less clear.)

OTOH, bow options really aren't that good. I used Sharpshooter's Oath on Fischl for ages because I didn't have anything better. My only 4-star at the time was Favonius, which I was convinced wasn't good for her, so I stuck with what I had, but I also hit a point where I said I don't want to level a random 3-star weapon any more. When I finally decided to spring for the battle pass, I took the bow for her just so she'd have a decent-ish weapon, even though The Black Sword is widely considered to be amazing and some might argue the catalyst is better, too.

Anyway, now that it's Thursday, I guess I have some materials to farm. (Plus talent mats for Childe, if this is the direction I'm going.)

I only went with the Raven Bow because that was what every guide told me to do when Tartaglia was released. I forget the lists but it was like 'If you don't have a 5* bow or this particular 4* then use Raven Bow'. I didn't realize they had fully pivoted from that in such a short time frame. Wish I had known before I took it to 70.

Do we know what will be in the store when it rotates in 7 days? I guess maybe that will have a better option.

Anyway, if I'm not SUPER attached to my current account, would there be any advantage to making a new one now? New new player bonuses or anything? Or am I missing nothing from just using my current account?

It's the opposite; they just added a returning player bonus if you haven't logged in within 2 weeks, so using an older account would be better.

You'd have to be AR10, which I'm not sure if you are or not, though.

If he only played for an hour or two, likely not. At that point it becomes a matter of if you got anything good on your wishes. And if you didn't get as far as your wishes, well...

In other news, I finally beat the domain for the crimson witch set solo. To think, all it took was having someone that isn't pyro or electro at level 70 to deal damage with. Against super tanky slimes on a timer, who'd have thunk? It was still pretty tough to beat the timer, but I haven't leveled Childe's talents.

The new quests and chests got me to AR 50 sooner than expected. Immediately ascended the WL. Now, everywhere is "highly dangerous", and with the boss drops not improving, it'll be a while before I ascend.

Zhongli is quickly becoming my team's mvp now that I've got some artifacts leveled from the proper sets. He demonstrates clearly to me the deficiencies some of my other characters like Noelle have had in coping with higher level enemies. And this is prior to his incoming buff.

Much of my exploration of Dragonspine has been him, Noelle, Xinyan, and usually Fischl, though often she's been swapped for Kaeya or Venti due to exploration/ice puzzles. I can't count the number of times I pressed the Fishl button by reflex, only to summon a woefully underpowered Kaeya during one puzzle's onslaught of giant enemies.

But on the whole, the mountain's been surprisingly manageable as we go deeper into this event. This first task of 'defend the things from a horde of enemies' is almost a joke, but the meteor event started simple too and grew more intense as it went. I quite like that even if someone is complete garbage at the game, the game goes out of its way to go 'hey, if you wanna be less garbage, use this super special awesome sword'.

I'm also rapidly running out of all my mora. I blame Zhongli's influence.

I hit 50 right before, and told myself I'd hang on to the current level for a bit just to see what things are like in Dragonspine. I'm sure I'd be okay at the higher level, but I also don't have much incentive. It's like...the wolf might drop an extra talent item, and that's really about it. So yeah, unless I'm prepared for ascensions -- which I'm not -- there isn't really any reason to up the WL....other than that it might make grouping with others difficult.

I've gained enough AR exp now that I would be on rank 51. I'm sure I'll pull the trigger eventually, but right now it's just kind of amusing to me.

And yeah, I'm thinking the later stages of the event either have to be harder, or they really heard a lot of players talking crap about the meteor event. I know I did, but that was more about the design than the raw challenge factor. There were frustrating components that led to it being artificially more difficult. We might end up with watered down content from now on, though.

From what I've seen, the advantages of being at WL7 are:
1) Elite bosses drop about 50% more 5* artifacts (from like .42 to .63)
2) Weekly bosses go from 1.5 talent item drops to 2.1 talent item drops.

There doesn't seem to be much else. Maybe a small increase of ~10% in ascension mats, but that could be noise.

There was a topic about it on the Genshin Impact board recently.

"2) Weekly bosses go from 1.5 talent item drops to 2.1 talent item drops." -- was basically the only take-away. Most of the people championing going to 7 were either saying how important the talent drops were or using dubious arguments about why it's important to raise your character's level.

Did the Wolf (co-op) and did get two talent items for Klee. With how long I've gone without getting any, I'd almost say it was worth it

You don't need to run the whole thing, but you might want to rush the quest, given that there's an event going, unless you don't mind missing out. So far the rewards have been refinement level 2 for the free sword and some event shop redemption in the form of weapon mats, exp books, and mora. Finished everything from this phase in about an hour, but that's not counting the unlocking at the beginning.

WL7 isn't bad at all. I just now fought the four Ruin Guards at Guyun Stone Forest and beat them in under 90 seconds without taking damage. Granted it was raining, but that was the cleanest battle I've had against them.

With weapon material, it did seem like I had to do fewer domains to get Stringless and Festering Sword to Lv. 70.

Just got to AR50 myself. Razor is good to go and still hits hard. I got 96% on Dragonspine before ascending though to not give myself too much trouble

And once you have the Frostbearing Tree at 8, you're pretty much done having to look for agates? Like you can go all the way to 12 with Crimson Wishes?

Just got to AR40 so WL5. Feels like I am way behind where I should be. I have 2x 70 people, 2x 70 weapons and apparently all the bosses are now 72 so this should be fun...

Soft pity is 70 right? If so, got some decisions to make since that's what I'm at and I feel I have no good Geo or Ice units

73 is the last "safe" pull before the percentages start cranking up. You have about a 35% chance of getting a 5-star by pull 73. From there, 74 is 5% by itself, and the next several are each around 10% until it tapers off. It's like a 5% chance of being in the final 8 or 9.

Note: those are aggregate percentages. Since we're talking 10% overall, and not 10% provided we get this far, the actual chance on that roll is obviously much higher.
