I was inspired to go back to Abyss tonight.

Previous best: Floor 10, 3 stars total

Managed to squeak out 6 stars on 10 tonight. There is no way that's going higher any time soon, unless there are tricks that I'm just not seeing. My team is just not well suited for that floor.

It is, however, very well suited for floor 11. After an initial 4/9 attempt (2-1-1), I practiced a little harder and added one star to each room, which means I finished at 7/9. The extra 50 primos also meant I could make another ten-pull, which puts me oh-so-close to pity on the character banner. I'll need to make my decision on Albedo pretty soon.

But that also meant I unlocked floor 12. For humor and posterity, I decided to record it.

Well Xinyan only has a Pyro attack every 15 secs. Her burst is Physical with like 400% multiplier. The Pyro DoT is minimal. She is not worth building around Pyro reactions and damage if she's main. She would need the constellations that give her a level 3 Shield after Burst to consider her for Pyro, and even then, her Talents and other constellations buff Physical attacks and debuff enemies Phys resistance.

The advantage of doing superconduct with Razor or Keqing is that they can trigger (or set up) the reaction themselves. With a pyro like Xinyan, you need two separate characters to initiate the effect. Not going to say it isn't worth it, but it's a lot more challenging to make work.

50%~ that ticks 4-6 times depending on enemy size, so 200%~300%

the physical is larger on Q alone, but not when you account for E damage too which is pure elemental (even without rave)

I'm not sure if the old buff is still in or not, but this is all still on their test server. Nothing is confirmed.

From my reading of the messaging, it was them still not being happy with his performance on the test server, so they were adding even more. Might be wrong, might be iffy translation, dunno.

I'm just going by word on the street, but what I've heard is that this was additional buffing. Like, buff him as called, and then buff him some more with this def/res down business.

Abyss 12-3 beated finally. Diona and Bennett were so clutch. Final teams:

Diluc - 70 - Crimson Witch 4pc
Jean - 80 - VV 4pc
Xiangling - 60 - Noblesse 4pc
Diona - 40 - 2 pc Glad + 2 pc Maiden

Diona just needed to break Electro Fatui shields but her own cryo shield gave so much survivability to this team. Her artifacts were just a mix of what I had leveled uo fir Traveler and Barbara because I had nothing else to give her.

Razor - 90 - Gladiator 4pc
Qiqi - 80 - Maiden 4pc
Fischl - 70 - 2pc Thundering Fury + 2pc Troupe
Bennett - 40 - Noblesse 4pc

The damage you receive in this room is insane. You have the icicles falling and no stamina. Razor's numbers are huge, but it means nothing when you can get stunlocked and die. So Qiqi and Bennett were amazing at keeping him alive to kill everything. Qiqi ended up dying, but Bennett was amazing on his own anyway.

Now to see how and if the meta changes with the new Abyss coming up.

Also forget optimizing offensive stats on your supports. Your carry will take care of everything. Your supports just need as much HP and Energy Recharge as possible.

I'm still in awe at Bennett how much he supports with so little.

Congrats. Any other pro tips? I find it very interesting how low in level your team is overall. I'm curious how much work you put into artifacts, and how much of it is just execution.

Also, dare I ask how many stars you got? ^_^

Razor is all +20 with level 90 Skyward Pride. He's the only one fully built. 1900 Atk, 45% Crit Rate, 110% Crit Damage and about 88% Physical bonus. And 6 Constellations thanks to Zhongli Banner. All Talents at +8 or higher.

Diluc has +16 and a couple +12. Level 80 Prototype. Level 6 talents.

Jean has +16 all around, level 80 Flute, level 7 Talents.

Qiqi has +20 feather, some +16 and some +0. Level 80 Rancour. Level 7 Talents.

Everyone else has a mix of +0, +8 or +12 artifacts with whatever substats. Level 50-60 weapons. Level 4 Talents mostly.

Got 4 stars. There's still a lot of optimizing to do but it will take time. I am down to just 6 Fragile resin.

My only other tip is to try and clear 12-2 with everyone's burst ready. 12-2 is one of those chambers were you have to defend a statue. You are not timed. So when you're down to the last enemy and have it under control, take your time and try to generate as much energy as possible.

Man, hate it when artifacts troll you. Just got a gold feather with ATK%, Crit% Crit DMG.

The 4th roll ended up being defense%. It rolled into defense again at +8. And now I don't know whether to bother rolling further.

I don't have the patience or resources to worry about getting good substat rolls. Not sure how anyone does.

On the other, it is theoretically a 75% chance to be really good on each of the next three upgrades. The fact that defense was the fourth stat isn't a loss because that's virtually guaranteed. The only thing you've lost is the roll at 8.

Crit DMG on the +12. DEF on the +16.

Your automatic includes are quite a pair on their own. Hydro and pyro, in the right direction. Bennett literally does everything Childe does not. If Bennett can set up vaporize adequately, then I feel like your other two could be literally anyone. I feel like you should pick up whoever feels best to you. If you're really thinking what would be most beneficial long-term, Sucrose would be my suggestion, between being able to group up enemies for Childe and eventually getting defensive reductions on the VV set. Fourth person should help with hydro mages and maybe electrohammers, or have geo/claymore.

tartaglia + mona is the main water core duo, absolutely use them together because it's what gives water a fighting chance to deal comparable damage to electro/pyro comps. before tartaglia, when water had to run mona+xingqiu, water was just kind of a meme

other two slots should be a mix of fischl, bennett, qiqi, xiangling, and sucrose/anemo traveller depending on the amount of healing you need and what shields you'll be facing. fischl pulls ahead in sheer skill+reaction damage because she's overtuned, bennett is a good healing+buffing+pyro utility but xiangling provides way more reaction opportunities for tartaglia to take advantage of during his Q if you don't need healing, qiqi instead if you need extreme healing, and you should always have an anemo character with the set ready for situations when you just want to pump out pure water elemental damage (they don't have to be super geared, just having a 4* set is mostly fine)

reducing elemental resistance by 40% is incredibly huge to the damage calculation and usually ends up being a straight up 20-35% damage increase depending on enemy resistances

it's part of why having two characters of the same element works so well; you only really need to swirl with water once every 10 seconds. but also, it's waaaaay easier to generate energy with two characters of the same element because they'll generate same color energy orbs

tartaglia wants to stay on the field and keep attacking for 9-15 seconds at a time because of how his Q works, mona wants to jump onto the field, unload her skills, and go back to backline asap. they work very well together, and if you somehow get one constellation on mona she contributes even more

That makes sense, didn't realize that existed. So Sucrose is going to be better then so she pull them all in and then switch to Tartaglia for mass carnage. Plus she can equip the Thrilling Tales thing for more Tartaglia attack.

So probably want something like Mona applies Hydro, place Oz, pull in with Sucrose and then go ham with Tartaglia? Although that setup has zero healing

I don't have Mona, so I can't comment. She is generally considered more of a support, though, so I guess that makes sense.

For whatever it's worth, I just watched a video from tenten that was describing a build he says is rising in popularity in China, using Childe, Fischl, Beidou, and Bennett. Fischl is the star in this comp and triggers a ton of electro-charged effects which compound with her one ascension talent nicely. i dunno the specifics of the opener in that setup, but make sure you have a water swirl right before you enter tartaglia's Q, and make sure whenever you use mona's Q it's within 10 seconds of a swirl

sucrose's CDs are pretty long, so if you have to, you can throw out a regular attack for the swirl

Bennett is probably the best healer you can pair with Childe. That's a really solid core.

Good supports will be:
-Sucrose for grouping enemies and VV.
-Mona for burst and energy regen.
-Fischl/Beidou for Electro-charge comp
-Xiangling for resonance with Bennett and Vape comp.

Basically invest heavily on Childe and Bennett and all these other units can flex depending on the content. Ascension 4, level 4 Talents, +8 Artifacts should be enough for them. If you can get more, that's gravy. However, what I've seen is that you do need someone strong to fill the downtime on Childe's melee. So maybe you will need at least one support with high investment.

So, early reports say to do Act IV solo and not co-op, unless you're a glutton for punishment/want a challenge.

Sheering Cold makes this fight a lot more challenging, but once I got the timing right was able to clear it in about 2:30. I'll probably do a few co-ops to see how that goes, but for now, time to sleep.

Pretty tough boss, especially for one designed to be repeated a bunch. I guess it would help if I brought more pyro to this fight than Xinyan. Shame that Co-op has a lot of issues for a lot of people.

Hilariously, one tip I've seen is that Amber is quite the MVP this fight being able to shoot the thing's weakpoint while safely behind the shield.

Yeah this event sucks. Like if you only had to kill it like 5-10 times it would be fine but you need to do it 24 times to clear out the shop from what I can see.

Edit: Actually 25 since the first kill doesn't give any shop thingys

goblets is goblets, throw it on razor or something and use the other 4 pieces to actually do a set

non-set goblet is what most people have to settle for unless they get super duper lucky
