Sometime around WWI, two of them enlisted in the military, but the military personnel records fudged one of their names to Seavello and the other stayed Scavullo. Rather than change it, the one brother kept it. I'm not sure the exact reasoning why, it might have been die to being underage when joining and he didn't want to correct it. So the Seavello brother kept it, and I am one of his descendants, but we are members of the Scavullo family as well. The site says Xiansheng is the most common name in the world. That's essentially the chinese word for mister and/or teacher... I'm not sure this site is entirely accurate...

68 people, though it also is known to have variants. Of course I kind of already knew this.

My ancestors were Scavullo before coming to America. Sometime around WWI, two of them enlisted in the military, but the military personnel records fudged one of their names to Seavello and the other stayed Scavullo. Rather than change it, the one brother kept it. I'm not sure the exact reasoning why, it might have been die to being underage when joining and he didn't want to correct it.

So the Seavello brother kept it, and I am one of his descendants, but we are members of the Scavullo family as well.

Edit: What I did find interesting between searching both surnames is that Seavellos are more Republican aligned (23% higher than the national average and 70% of them affiliated with the party) while Scavullos are primarily Democrat aligned (approximately 68%).
