Yes. Monday I had a fever the whole day. I got tested Tuesday and came back positive.

While I did have a fever on Monday, after a good night's rest, it cleared up. Tuesday, I was feeling fine, but my mom urged me to get a test.
Today, I very VERY mild cold-like symptoms but other than that, I'm doing well.

Although I agree with him that the tests are pretty faulty, even if it wasn't Covid I still wouldn't go in for a day or two if I was running a fever/chills

As if right now, I'm the main cashier. They don't have any other employees that know how to run the register as well as me. That's why he's almost forcing me to come in.

My company will fire you if you come into work after a positive test, and they ensure that you can't come in if you have a fever, and you have to get tested. You have to stay out for at least two weeks, and you're paid two weeks worth of wages for the duration of your illness. They also make people that you came into close contact to immediately prior to a test stay home while you get tested and/or recover from the illness.

the head cashier at a grocery store should absolutely NOT be manning the most customer-facing position less than 2 days after being symptomatic and testing positive for covid. Especially not the day after thanksgiving

your manager should be fucking ashamed for putting so many lives at risk.

Monday I felt pretty lousy. By Tuesday, I felt recovered. I still got a test though. He asked how I was feeling and I said normal, expecting the test to be negative.

This. Your boss is worried about how his shift will run. His boss is going to be worried about the liability, both PR and legal, of telling a covid positive cashier to come in anyway.

I'd walk in to work with a home made sign saying "Warning: I have tested positive for COVID-19 but my boss has forced me to come in and be your cashier anyway" and sit that fucker at the register in front of me.

Good lord just state you're feeling ill, show him your positive test result and quarantine yourself. Maybe he said what he did becuase he thinks you're willing to work still regardless, if only to support yourself. So his intentions may not have spawned of malice.
