I've been closing in on finishing up S2 of Fruits Basket. Definitely spends time being melodramatic at times but it is a very interesting show.

The "school play" episode is absolutely hysterical, but aside from that, the melodrama definitely picks up like crazy.

It was VERY funny. Finished up the second season, feel like it is moving into an awesome conclusion.

Started up God of High School as I've heard both high praise and some harsh criticism. Seems like the perfect "I can watch this while I mine in FF14" type stuff. Lol.

Last Dungeon Kid (I refuse to say or type this show's full long-ass title) turned out to be funnier than I expected. It's giving me vibes like Last Period, Endro, or Bofuri. The MC is a complete fucking idiot but in a cute and pure way like Maple, the girls around him are all interesting and quirky in their own ways, and the various interactions between them were a lot of fun. If they can keep the "he thinks he's weak but is actually insanely strong" gimmick from getting stale over time, it could be a gem, but we'll have to wait and see.

Just watched it, and yeah that was hilarious. When seren went full yandere, I about died laughing. Or really anything with Marie.

Well, that season of Symphogear was absolutely insane. From the car shadow clones, to the three new girls, to the return of Carol, to the fisting of God, to the moon, and to the climax song in the core.

Probably the most insane season of them all.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. XV was an amazing way to cap off this wild ride. The only things I didn't like were that it wasted a bit too much time on Noble Red and that the best character in the entire franchise only showed up in the final montage and didn't get a grand return like Carol and St. Germain.

I'd put season 5 near the top. Though I watched the series over such a long period of time that the details of the earlier seasons have long since left me, especially most of the stuff about Fine. I'd recommend Symphogear as a much watch.
As for best girl, I'm still deciding between Shirabe and Carol.

Yep, I heard the original plan was way lewder and the animator had to dial it back a bit. Considering how lewd the version we actually got already was, that seems crazy... but if it weren't crazy, it wouldn't be Symphogear!

Just watched the High School Fleet movie. Oh man... those subs were bad. Real bad. Every girl was referred to as He, every guy was referred to as she. Onee-chan was translated as Big Brother. I could only understand the gist of each sentence. For fuck sake, the enemies in the movie spoke in Engrish and even they were easier to understand than the subs provided for them. The best parts were the action scenes where no one talked. Subs aside, the action scenes and battles were great, which I came to expect from watching the anime. Just wish the damn subs weren't so botched.

If she had turned into a spider in the real world it might have been crazy enough to watch but I looked it up and it's like an isekai fantasy world dungeon which made me lose interest.

If you like unfunny attempts at humor, an isekai'd MC that does the usual endless monologueing routine, and male MC surrounded by an entourage of girls with the most generic isekai girl trope personalities then look no further.

It was actually surprisingly funny, it starts out with this very silly seeming idea and then it just goes totally in on treating it completely seriously that you can't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. It also has a bunch of legit real world animal facts which is interesting

Killing Bites taught me all I need to know about animals. If I watch that too I'll probably be ready for a zoology PhD

Oh nice, the fate extra retranslation patch just got released. It adds subs to the battles, which were filled with untranslated dialogue, some lore corrections, and fixes some mistranslations.

And now to wait for the CCC patch.

Finished FMA, very enjoyable. The shifting loyalties and open mindedness of the characters was refreshing, reminded me a lot of Ushio to Tora.
Barry was my favorite with Alphonse a close second.

I finished season 2 of Senran Kagura (meh) and the latest batch of Pokemon Journeys episodes (fun) so now I'm thinking of what series to watch next. But while I'm thinking, I'm finally watching the Konosuba movie, long overdue. Currently a third of the way in and it's hilarious.

Hortensia Saga is literally just "we have a Fire Emblem anime at home" to the point that even the episode title screens and mid-episode eyecatches feel like they were ripped straight out of the GBA-era FE games. But since I'm a huge FE fan, I like the aesthetic and I'm going to keep watching.
