There's a book called "How Jewish People Became White Folks and What That Says About Race in America" that directly addresses this question. Definitely an interesting read. I'd recommend it if you want to explore this topic.

Nobody is white, nobody is black, everyone is just people. If you think otherwise, you're part of the problem. That doesn't mean there isn't racism, and that you don't recognize that people think otherwise and act badly, it just means you consider people the same no matter the cosmetic differences.

That's a really complicated question. If you're asking whether or not jews benefit from white privilege... some of them do, certainly. In some ways I think some jewish people have experienced what people who used to be considered non-white but are now have (Italians, for example) but it's more sporadic and certainly does not apply to jewish people as a whole.

But when I wanted to imigrate to Israel they made me take a Jewish DNA test and I failed. Not enough or no Jewish DNA.

I think the racial profile is Semitic. A lot of Jewish people are mixed race but they still have thw Semitic genes which apparently makes you Jewish.

A lot of Jewish people can pass for Semitic or white. I suppose they can choose what they want to identify as?

For starters, there is no such thing as "White people" or "Black people" and that's been said by leading historian experts in the field. Now what happened in the Colonies that would become America is the fact that the Elites needed a way to divide and conquer rebellions forged by indentured servants from Europe and Africa thus the terms "White" and "Black" were created to do just that and it has worked brilliantly for over 400 years and counting.

People have been able to see differences in skin color from as long as we know, but the meaning of those differences has changed over time but in America that color difference was, is and has been used to keep certain people down economically etc.

you can have zero relations to jews but if you marry a jew girl your kids will be considered jewish and can immigrate to israel, they go by the mother

The question effectively becomes meaningless unless you clarify whether or not you're referring to Judaism as a religion/philosophy/culture/identity or if you're limiting discussion solely to an ethnic definition. But even if you just stick to "race" as opposed to ideology, you're still hitting the roadblock of asking exactly what a Jew IS.

Do you go with the Nazi definition that anyone who has a Jew in their ancestry up to the third generation is still Jewish? Only people of a certain genetic map? Only people who identify as Jewish? Only people from Israel or with roots in the Middle East as a whole?

And that's not even getting into even thornier questions of what exactly you mean by "white". Like how 100 years ago the Japanese were described as "the Whites of Asia" by European powers - is "white" solely a genetic or phenotypical trait? Or is it a cultural mindset/identity? If it's a state of being entirely detached from pure genetics, how exactly do you define it, and how do you differentiate between definitions that are "right" versus those that are "wrong" (more specifically, if you define it one way, and I define it another, how do we decide which of us gets to be correct)?

The problem with concepts of race, ethnicity, and cultural identity is that even the scientific terms and assumptions are shifting on a regular basis. What we consider "objective fact" today may be considered to be horrible racist bullshit tomorrow.

Government forms, for instance, often don't recognize "Jewish" as its own category and instead the closest category would be "white" (a category that also pulls in Arabs in the absence of a more nuanced choice -- which also means that Egyptians, whose home country is in Africa, aren't classified as "African-Americans" because the concept instead refers to Sub-Saharan Africans; in short, political correctness makes shit confusing).

Informationally, a lot of groups the government tries to simplify as "white" aren't considered white. And historically a lot of groups we consider white today weren't considered white in the past.

In the context of "Jewish people" it can be safely assumed that ethnic origin is being discussed. Granted, you could have a sub-discussion of how the religion itself treats ethnic origin since only people with a Jewish mother are considered Jewish (aka matrilineality).

It can't be safely assumed at all because people blur the line between the two constantly. So much so that many conversations about the subject start out addressing one aspect but wind up referring to things that only really relate to the other aspect (compounded by the fact that different people have different opinions of what Jewish "ethnicity" actually IS).

The real problem is trying to separate people who are accidentally blurring the lines because of honest confusion, and the people who are deliberately blurring the line for ideological/rhetorical reasons.

Again, what makes it so hard is that we don't really have clear terminology or concepts to define what ethnicity IS. Which is part of why anthropology is starting to try and downplay and minimize the concept entirely (or at least redefine it into purely genetic marker terms).

Judaism is a religion. Some closed communities can be argued that its a culture. Or ethnicity or whatever but for your poll that is all irrelevant since white or Caucasian is a race a race has to be genetic.

there is no Jewish gene so no matter what you want to say about the other ideas (Im intentionally avoiding Discussion there cause those are irrelevant in the context of the TcS poll) its not a race so Judaism alone isbt white or Asian or black but a white or Asian or black person can chose to become Jewish by adopting that religious beliefs.
