Do you think these female hating men are a bigger threat to society than people think?

Police in Dover, New Jersey has identified the man who shot and killed his ex girlfriend and killed HIMSELF as 41 y/o Rudy Ferretti!!

Police found his body in her apartment as well as 46 y/o Amy Molter who allegedly DUMPED him and both were found with bullet wounds on their heads.

The murder-suicide was started after Ferretti had been dumped by Molter and now it's been found that he was a retro game champion who was MISOGYNIST and was a major advocate for Gamergate!!

He said at the time "I'm tired of all you feminists and your bulls***" and made a game called Pigs in the Castle where the whole was to kill 100 WOMEN which he called "pig b******" to get to the boss.

Members of the retro and arcade gaming scene say they warned community leaders and even police on his threatening behaviour for years as he stalked, harassed and threatened female gamers and even flashed guns on his videos

Catherine DeSpira, an arcade game collector and research and Patrick Scott Patterson, a video game historian were 2 of his public targets but police did not do anything from his threats

Catherine says Rudy was upset about women getting involved in what he saw as a "maniverse" and despised the idea of women getting into gaming which takes attention from male gamers who he felt were the dominant sex

In the rise of Gamergate campaign in 2014, he said women were out to destroy the purity of the arcade gaming scene and called them FEMINAZIS.

In his youtube channel he refers to himself as the world record holder and console player of the century (sounds like a certain someone)

Do you think these female hating men are a bigger threat than people think?

Gamergate still holds the record for being the most stupid, embarrassing thing that gaming as a whole has ever been associated with. Literally everyone that ever cared about it, on either side, is a fucking loser.

And the US Civil War was about "states rights".

If people gave a fuck about ethics in gaming journalism (eye roll) they would have been more outraged that games from notable AAA developers got exaggerated positive reviews for seemingly no reason at all. This had been happening for years before Gamergate ever became a thing. Big name developers have more to gain or lose from reviews of their highly anticipated games than some no name indie developer would from a game that isn't likely to sell more than a few thousand copies regardless of whether a bullshit positive review is made. Indie games require word of mouth to sell. Big name games from well known developers can lose tons of sales from a bad popular review.

No, instead, Gamergate was a case of faux outrage fueled partly by genuine concern over unethical behaviour from "gaming journalists", but fueled mostly by man child insecurities and hatred for women from a bunch of kissless neckbeards. The controversy it generated was blown way out of proportion, and I don't buy for one second that it "originally" was truly about ethics in gaming journalism.

I don't get why some guys hate women so much. I have never understood racism or sexism, people are people, their gender bits don't change things much if at all, there are horrible women and horrible men, and horrible people of every race as well. There are also awesome people of all genders and races.

I would say it's some kinda mental condition but it's been waaaaay to common in humans throughout time. It's just not logical at all, and honestly doesn't even make sense from a survival of the species standpoint. It's just....weird.

It's usually because they lack a personality or any form of charm, and instead of taking a look in the mirror to figure out why women avoid them, they decide to blame women because it's easier than taking responsibility or initiative.

It's usually further inflated by an addiction to pornography and the resulting disappointment that real women aren't providing the fantasies that porn lets them fulfill. Ever notice that Gamergate types like the guy this topic is about are usually into hentai? A lot of them prefer getting their rocks off to a drawing than footage of a real woman because of how much they hate women.

Gamergate was a legitimate grievance regarding gamer "journalists" literally being in bed with devs. The fact that anybody trusts gamer "journalists" at all at this point is by far the most embarrassing thing in gaming today. Afterward, you have a lot of feminist profiteers jumping in and attacking the industry to try build their personal brands, most of whom were later confirmed (or admitted) barely gamed at all.

And because the anti-GGers were so good at gaslighting and getting people to white knight, everything was written off and nothing was changed. Now things are worse than ever, with sites like Metacritic being pushed by game devs (who advertise on their platform) to restrict when reviews can be posted to ensure that shitty games where the devs bought or coerced reviews from "journalists" can't be outed by user reviews and potentially bite into sales.

And that same manipulated crowd was used by Sony to deflect criticisms aimed at the all-female Ghostbusters reboot.

I've never understood why people use the false claim and narrative that people must hate women if... wait, I know EXACTLY why people use those smear tactics: Because they can't justify their bullshit claims so they have to rely on strawman arguments. While there are misogynists and misandrists out there, 99% of activities in life aren't being driven by a hatred of either women or men.

Except:

  1. That was never proven, it was just an allegation. They acknowledged they had a casual relationship but affirm that it was long before the game was made.
  2. The guy at the center of the controversy never actually reviewed it, but mentioned it in a list of indie games that he enjoyed. The concept that Zoe exchanged sex for that is fucking moronic.
  3. Even if there had been a review, it was a no name game being made by a no name developer. Nobody gives a shit about what the review says. I just checked the Nintendo eShop for a no name indie game, and I just found one called "SkyRacket". I went looking for reviews for it. There were a few, nothing with more than a few comments on it, and the most views on a Youtube review of it is 655.
But please, continue pretending this was ever really about "ethics in gaming journalism".

Gamergate was like a peach.

It had a soft, fuzzy exterior that was the "legitimate" grievance about ethics in video game journalism (even if very few of those involved actually knew what video game journalism and journalistic ethics were).

It had delicious, juicy flesh that was the (often misdirected) ire at those supposedly responsible for purported ethical breaches.

It had a poisonous, cyanide-filled pit that was the hatred directed at women involved in video games.

The soft, fuzzy exterior and delicious, juicy flesh served only to attract people to the "movement" and spread that poisonous, cyanide-filled pit to others, allowing the "movement" to proliferate and grow.

Gamergate was like a peach.

Which might be an argument if it wasn't reviewed at all by them, but are you honestly claiming that it's the only possible way there's a direct impact? And you're also suggesting that there's no breach of ethics to promote a game without disclosing a relationship that could be seen as influencing his opinion of said game?

Because apparently no-name games being promoted by a media outlet has no impact on the games. I guess that's why no-name games don't bother trying to get buzz, hype, positive reviews, etc, right?

Notwithstanding that your batshit attempt to debunk it pretty much just proves my point: You had to look through the e-shop to find a no-name game because you weren't learning about it from "journalists"
