Mine is TLOU Pt. II, but second place definitely goes to Nioh 2. Big improvement over Nioh 1 IMO

Warcraft 3 is an amazing game imo but if I rank it based on what the remake "adds"...it's terrible. Super pointless "remake"
Resident Evil 3 Remake is boring, short and pointless. Very disappointing

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is fantastic. A little too complex for it's own good, but still fantastic

Looking at my list I've played 11 games released in 2020 so far

I guess I have enough to make a top 10 list this year already which wasn't the case last year until I rushed it at the end. Still plenty of time to fit more in.

I'm assuming you mean games released this year. Of those, I've only played FFVIIR, and I really enjoyed it. It probably benefitted greatly from my expectations being rock bottom going in, but I thought it brought Midgar and the main cast, particularly Aerith, to life, and the battle system had both real energy and genuine stylistic differences across the characters that action-turn hybrids often lack.

The only other games I've played are Crash Trilogy (platinum'd them all, really enjoyed the 1st and 2nd - the 3rd was just too easy and gimmick filled) and God of War (platinum'd it, but apart from the Kratos/Atreus dialogue and a couple of fights it wasn't especially brilliant).

FF7R, Doom Eternal, and Gundam Breaker 3 are my top three games I've played this year so far. Fall Guys is also great and I've just started Atelier Ryza.

Played a lot of good games this year! Might be one of my favourites for a while! I guess lockdown helped.

But Outer Wilds is the definitive #1. TLOU2 is 2, FF7r is 3. And I really liked FF7R!

This year has already been great for me in terms of games I've played - not to be confused with actual 2020 games, which I wouldn't know about. Dragon Quest XI (which I only finished this year), Portal 2 (about damn time - thanks GotM), and A Short Hike (quite the obscure gem - again, thank you GotM) in particular are three new favorites of mine.

That being said, there's only two games that have ever truly made me feel understood, and that in turn have truly helped me understand myself. Obviously, Night in the Woods was the first; Celeste has become the other one, on top of everything else it does right.

Xenoblade and System Shock 2 both landed in my top 40 of all time. I also just finished Control and I think it's taken my spot as GOTY 2019.

I'm still working my way through FFVIIR, TLOU2 and Deadly Premonition 2, so probably Ghost of Tsushima so far? I put a lot of time into ACNH too, so that's up there and RE3 was a blast while it lasted. I also started Horizon Zero Dawn and Spiritfarer in the last week or so and I'm enjoying both of those a lot too.

Of games that came out this year, I've only played FFVIIR, Animal Crossing New Horizons, and the Henry Stickmin Collection, which is easily my favorite of the three. Overall, the best game I've played this year is Majora's Mask.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps by a lot. Best game released since 2017 IMO. Second would probably be Ghost Trick, but I'm working through FFXIV now and it's great, so that could take the second spot.

I'm always playing Tetris the Grandmaster 2, and that's the prefect game of all time, so it kind of wins by default. barring that...

This was the year I started playing Celeste, so that probably is the best new gaming experience this year, FF7R is close though.

I'm also playing Fall Guys and am due to start a co-op campaign in Wasteland 3 on Friday! And that's not even counting the games I only play once for the sake of making a video.

Also, update: not Spiritfarer. Strong start that gets weaker and weaker until it eventually fizzles out.
