Uber did a nice intraday swing from red to green today on news that Lyft is suspending operations in California to avoid being forced to classify their drivers as employees. So uh, Uber management, I hope you're watching this stock action. The market wants you to NOT suspend operations just to avoid classification of your drivers as employees. Less revenue is better than no revenue.

If I have 0.25 do I get 1? Do I just get the cash value of the 0.25 at split time?

I don't know; do you know what a fractional share represents legally? Like, can you attend a shareholder meeting and vote? My guess without having researched this is that from the point of view of the company, a fractional share is not a share at all, and, instead, is just a contract between the owner of a regular share (probably the brokerage) and buyers who have agreed to pay some amount of money for certain rights approximating ownership of a fractional share. For instance, a 1/4 share would entitle you to receive 1/4 of the dividends paid by the company to the owner of the share.

But voting could be complicated. For example, let's say Broker owns a share of AAPL and sells a 2/4 share to you, a 1/4 share to me, and a 1/4 share to A. We get together and vote internally amongst ourselves and Broker votes with the whole share in accordance with the majority decision among the fractional share owners. So let's say AAPL has a proposal to make the ghost of Steve Jobs CEO. You vote yes, I vote yes, and A votes no. We have a 3/4 majority so Broker goes to the AAPL shareholder meeting and votes yes with the whole share.

Now that share gets split into 4 shares. But instead of you getting 2 shares, and me and A both getting 1 share, each of us retains a fractional ownership of each of the 4 new shares. So we still hold the internal vote, and it comes out the same way for each of the new split shares, and now Broker goes to the meeting and votes yes with 4 whole (split) shares. So A still gets disenfranchised. If that's how it works.

Apple has gone up since I put money into it an hour ago. This is one of maybe three times this has ever happened.

Ive got $50k between Lyft and Apple. I want to believe TRVN will soar on Monday but it hurt me so many times before that I dont know if I can trust it.

Lyft and Uber plummeting since the overturned was announced. Typical.

The Court must have announced it earlier. Probably the news didn't get out until now. People who were following the proceedings closely got an advantage.

I'm no longer as convinced TRVN will soar on Monday. I do feel like artificial market forces in the form of option money are keeping the price down right now (many of which expire tomorrow) I think I'm just going to be patient with it.

I do however think it's an easy buy. Still do. I swear I wanna average down with the other half of my portfolio and just let it ride even though I know that's "bad form" because I can't imagine the stock isn't worth at least double in a year. Like I can't imagine it being worth less at the moment, just based on what it has on table not even speculating on their future catalysts and such.

Once TCDA gets more clarity on Saturday I may put what money I have in there into it.

Whose to say it wouldnt go up 30% in three hours? The market knows when I go into a stock and that is when it goes down. Im sure it would have continued skyrocketing had I not gone in.

Yes, but only because whatever force makes a stock stop rising is apparently highly correlated to whatever force gets you to pull the trigger on a trade. The market doesn't care about you individually; there must be some fundamental forces at play here.

DKNG is a good stock just don't worry about it until this time next year. Anything bad happens to the NFL then you will have a sweet opportunity to buy this in the 20s. But I think it's 50-60 by the end of 2021.
