Lots of Wall Street analysts seem to hate SPCE as a buy right now. You know, the same ones that said wait for Tesla to pull back to $800 to buy! Seems like the type of company set to have a similar storied run.

I'm surprised they aren't down more after that LVS earnings report yesterday. Revenue was down a staggering 97%. It means that while Macau was open and Vegas was open for 1 month out of 3, they may as well have been closed for all the money they were bringing in.

It's possible that 10am today was the bottom for airline stocks. AAL isn't the only one having a good day.

I'm looking at ways to bet against ERI/CZR. It's hard to imagine this newly merged company not going bankrupt. A small casino operator takes on mountains of debt to buy a much bigger casino operator with even bigger mountains of debt on its books. This happens during the middle of a pandemic but includes some cash payouts that were negotiated last year when CZR was a more valuable business. Now we find that despite reopening, there is almost no demand in Vegas. People focus on gambling of course but the convention and club businesses are probably faring even worse.

And, even worse, they no longer own many of the properties - those were spun off into VICI Properties during CZR's last bankruptcy. So now ERI/CZR is paying rent to VICI Properties so they can operate Caesars Palace, for instance. Mountains of debt, not much in assets, very little revenue coming in as long as coronavirus is here. Even when it's over, I think a lot of the business might not return - people have figured out ways to do business remotely without conventions and conferences, and people can gamble on stocks/options or sports online.

I don't want to short the stock as that has a finite gain and an infinite potential loss, but the option premiums for puts look pretty expensive. Guess I'm not the only one who feels this way about this company. Maybe I'll buy long term ITM puts to try to replicate shorting the stock without the unlimited risk.

But regarding casinos: even before coronavirus, this was an industry with little to no growth. The all-time best 2 years for Nevada gambling revenue were......2007 and 2006. After 12 years, the industry still had not recovered to the 2007 peak. In Macau it peaked in 2013 and had not recovered to there by 2019.

Online gambling is clearly the future of that sector, at least in the next year to two year period. Still think going long on GAN or LCA is the way to go there. GAN most prominently; the Dumb Money guys don't trust LCA as much so I'll take their expertise here. The recent pullback on GAN hit the support level from a month ago so I'd love to see it get cheaper for me to get back in. Or I'll just buy it at 23 something if it builds up tomorrow, but the last time I bought GAN on a Friday I had to average down to make it a winning trade!

All that said I haven't researched the casino industry at all and have no idea how much Fed money is being pumped into them. But from my limited knowledge they sound the most likely to fail short term? Huge unemployment isn't exactly a winning recipe for gambling.

But their other revenue streams are largely conventions, conferences, and clubs. Those are even deader than casino gambling right now. I think LVS reporting revenue (not profit, revenue) down 97% says it all.

I got back in GAN at 22.20 this morning. Buy the fear. That early morning dip had me scared we were headed back to 18 or something but I figured no way such a good stock would lose support from the last month.

Just 400 shares though. Leaving lots of free margin so as to not get called.

Also if you had interest in getting in on NKLA, Id put a little bit in and keep an eye on NKLAW. Aug 5 is when a bunch of warrants will get redeemed I think, and then Aug 21 is the last day for them period. Ive been buy 10 NKLA a day. They could hang out in the 20s for a while, but, I think long term this is a nice place to buy in.

This could be a multi-day run. I've averaged up because fuck it and now I'm holding.

Glad I found my niche in the market: research your ass off and find what the market is not appreciating. A few big trades can go way farther than a ton of modest ones. You'll never have to chase this way and you just have to play the waiting game.

The only thing I need to figure out now is exit strategies on trades like this, but when it's a company you're comfortable going long on and you're way in the green, you're a winner either way.

Just have to pay attention if AVCT gets near 3.70 it's probably going to pop. But the run might be losing steam so getting more shares at that price may not even matter too much. Still, I'm thinking $5 PT pre-ER (mid August) and it's either going to below 3 or potentially past 10 the following week depending on forward guidance. All the insiders scooping up shares last week tells me they have big announcements planned, but I'll be reading that ER the minute they drop it.
