Think I want to start playing less stocks at once and keep more money free. GAN being down (though recovering) is hurting me and I can't sell for a loss or I have to wait for trade settlement. Could be throwing so much money at AVCT right now and would be breaking even at like 4.25 instead of 5.

Looks like the cabin reveal for SpaceshipTwo was a dud in that the stock went down 7% afterward. Buy the hype, sell the news, I suppose. I'm in SPCE for the long haul though, and it was probably overdue for a pullback after the past couple weeks.

Nervously awaiting the CAR earnings release.

I bought BGFV at 2.64 hoping to double.

Now I need to decide if I sell with this earnings report putting it probably around 6.75 on the open, or hold onto it since they're bringing back the dividend and giving it out double this quarter to make up for not giving out one last quarter to handle COVID.

Good call on Big Five! Yeah, people are doing more outdoors stuff now that all the indoors stuff is closed or unsafe- I should have thought of that. CAR not as strong as that monster +55% after-hour gain but now at +11% so very happy I held through earnings.

Holy fuck XELA after hours. People treating her like an ordinary penny stock :(

Should've seen that coming I guess. I'm still holding. Wasn't planning on securing profits for a while but regretting that now. Ah well, still long here. People are going to do what they do and I'll just try to ignore the noise from the market.

I'm looking to buy Keurig Dr. Pepper (KDP). The Keurig side of the company was formerly known as Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) and was a fast growth bubble stock a few years back. They make coffee machines so you can make coffee at home. I think that's going to be a hit with all the people who are going to be working from home permanently, or at least indefinitely.

so if I do what I almost did today but was too stubborn to do, then I might have a 10k day tomorrow. but things have to go right for me

Basically if XELA runs again tomorrow -- and the news was too big and the current dip price too good that it's hard to imagine it not happening -- and I go ahead and bite the bullet and secure profits, then throw those at AVCT on a dip and it runs again like it did today (literally a daily occurrence of 50 - 75 cent runs here but then it closes like 10 cents above open EVERY fucking time)...then get out of that run. Boom, 10+ grand in a day again. I'm just giving up long positions so I have to hope that they both go back to a good buy price, because I will not ever chase again.

This may seem like a lot but AVCT will 100% run or it will be the first day in over...a week and a half that it hasn't? And if it does it'll likely come crashing back for my buy opportunity with new funds, because again, I'm not joking when I say it's happened every day there for like a week -- check the chart. But XELA doesn't ever do what it should so who knows. We'll see what the post-news world is like for that stock.

E: Oh and people were talking about Big Five on the Dumb Money discord the last few days. Shame I didn't have the time to research that one! ER being good was SO duh though, wish I'd even spent the couple minutes to find out ER was coming! I'll be watching closely and researching the company tomorrow on my day off to figure out where I think it might be headed. If I'm comfortable getting in and holding for a while I might throw some money there for another Covid play.

How does CAR go up 10% on a great earnings report and lose ALL of the gains in 3 hours of trading with no news? While none of the days have been particularly awful, this is looking like it could be the 5th red day in a row for me which doesn't feel good. I feel like every day my stocks open fine, usually up, and then fall during the day.

I kinda suspect Donald Trump owns some Kodak shares. As I understand it, the STOCK Act does not apply to the President or Vice President, so they are allowed to do insider trading based on their knowledge of government, as long as they don't have inside knowledge of the corporate side.

Ok, I like what he's saying. Not worried about inflation - thinks we are facing more deflationary forces than inflationary forces. Not even thinking about raising interest rates or reducing credit facilities, thinks that won't happen for a long time.

Been saying it for awhile but in a global crisis, despite our bungling, worldwide faith in the dollar was stronger than ever. In a world economy that is honestly all that matters.

I don't understand your buying position
I killed my whole portfolio this week
The last time I did that was on the 20th of February and we all know what happened the day later

Like always I can be wrong. Hell, there is a high chance I am wrong. But nothing looks good today. NASDAQ being barely 1% in the red is a bubble that might burst soon

DAX was down 4% with the whole of Europe being red behind it.
US GDP is at record low ever since WW2
Trump twitting to delay the elecations

If you want to bet on the "money printer goes brrr" then good luck, I know I don't

Yeah, I was pretty surprised when I woke up this morning and saw CAR down 8%, after it was up over 10% yesterday morning and slightly in the red. So that was close to a 20% swing from top to bottom in 24 hours. Thought about it and decided to buy more shares, and an hour later it's only at -3% for the day, so there's a quick nice gain for the newly bought shares.

The GDP numbers were a little better than was expected yesterday, why would the market drop a lot today? I mean, the Dow is down 260 points.....it's not like it surged up.

As far as betting on money printer goes brrr goes, the truth is, holding US dollars is a bet against it. You have to bet for or against it no matter what you do.

And long term, betting on the money printer is definitely a better idea than betting against it. Even if you FOMO'd into the very top of the tech bubble in 2000 by buying a Nasdaq ETF, after 20 years you'd......have twice as much money as you would by investing in the USD. And that's without reinvesting dividends.

Well the tech giants are basically all due to report earnings today. I think the earnings are going to show that big tech isn't in recession at all. If they are, we could see the bloodbath you're looking for tomorrow.

Not going SQQQ or anything (good thing I didn't)
If we pass the earnings good..the next dangerous obstacle would be election-related

It is yeah.

Of course I got it on the way up to a peak so I'm currently at -$40 on it but eh. Think by Monday this thing will have shot up. Maybe.

This may be a rash move caused by me considering doing this with Kodak yesterday when it was at $17 thinking "people will see the name they like + drugs and it'll go nuts" and then it totally did with me only making like 20 dollars on it cause my money was frozen (granted I sold way too early but...)

Also by me literally having Taoping as a potential buy the first day it stopped sliding just cause it was so low and missing the +400% day lol.

I am personally not seeing a real downturn in the economy anything like this monstrous -33% number. The thing is, that GDP number is based on spending. Spending is down, but savings are up. Spending will come back in force in the future because people are going to find themselves with a lot of extra savings to spend this Christmas or next year.

I am going to start buying shares in companies that make luxury products in anticipation of the shopping that's going to happen when people realize they have an extra 10k sitting around from all the spending they didn't do this year.
