Another day where I love everything here!

both tracks in this match are COOL BEANSthere's other FE series tracks I like more but apex of the world still hits some nice buttons for me. Variations on a Ra Melody is like everything I like about "old Hitoshi Sakimoto" crammed into one song. though there are a lot of songs from this era that are [everything I like about "old Hitoshi Sakimoto" crammed into one song] and this is just one of them : )

loser of match 2 definitely gets my wildcard vote, I love both; but "Dungeon - Geofront 4" is my literal single favorite piece of music of all time so I am more passionate about its success than anything else, even if it were against my 2nd favorite in the contest (in this case, it's against my 37th (of course, if i were rating every song in the world "37th in contest" is probably like 1000th favorite song in the world, while 1st favorite contest is still "favorite song in the world". so yeah NO CONTEST))

another crazy close ToC match between two of my fav ToC entrants. torna battle is 5th and ELFERIA is 7th! very close and I will be very happy with either winning : )

Geofront completes a pattern of there being one good sounding track each bracket that I can't click with despite doing everything right. (L L Infinite/Filthy Mind/Infinty Dungeon 2/Geofront 4)

ToC literally came down to being a super nitpicky asshole towards Battle!!'s piano. Both songs are phenomenal.

match 1 is pretty easy, toc match is harder but still alright, but gosh match 2 kind of hurts. I'm sorry (Toxtricity) but this is another case of the credits conceptually having higher highs & lower lows whereas Geofront4 is the stable, consistently-good-but-doesn't-reach-the-highs-of-the-opponent song. I've typically given my points to the song that gets my internal rating more all over the place & reaches the higher highs than the "stable" song, and this case is no different. But really it's very likely that whichever song loses here is getting a +3 from me when it's time for the wildcard showdown.

I hope match one and three don't come down to one vote, because those are very difficult choices. Match one coms down to sound quality vs. composition and something that's 100% great throughout vs. something that's amazing in some ways but not so great in other ways.

i wasn't too big on this particular corner of the bracket last round so i already kind of managed to forget about what apex and ra were like really. ra has a pretty solid start, but kind of doesn't really grow from there, which is unfortunate. if it did it'd be a fairly close match probably in its favour. apex is ok

credits is a kind of song i like but am not used to hearing in a setting like this. it's not a bad example of one of them either, though there are others i like more... still though.
last round i basically talked about I got out of geofront. this time though, i think it's about time to talk about the areas i wish it was better in. It makes me think of sawano techno with a bit less polish. It has one particular element that gives it much of its character and that's basically it, as without those well-timed beeps this would be fairly standard borderline trance for a considerable amount of its runtime. There are definite good things about it, just nothing that really elevates it enough. Close match, two songs that aren't too far off from being favourites but just aren't really there.

... Which the following match illustrates prety well. Yeah uh, this is kind of um. Hm. Two definite favourites of two of my favourite contests. I cannot pick.

It's hard for me to imagine a better day than this. Every song today is at least a 9, with the exception of Battle!!, and that's still above average. Awesome day! That being said, I still have clear preferences in all three matches.

Sorry, I was at work on my phone, and I realized that despite listening to all 6 songs this morning, I forgot to actually post my vote before I left because I was stuck deciding on match 2.
