This was actually the logic of the guy who was interviewed by John Oliver in my favorite Daily Show field piece (who sued over the LHC) to conclude that there was a 50% chance that it would create a black hole that would destroy the earth...!

The anthropic principle is terrifying. Basically, suppose the actual probablity of nuclear war wiping out humanity was 50% per year. How would that world look different from ours? And the answer is, if we were living in that world, it would look the same as ours. Because we wouldn't be around if that 50% ever hit.

This would be a really interesting case. Trump wouldn't have sovereign immunity since he's not acting on behalf of the United States, but as an individual/campaign campaigning for office. You can literally see him say the "f" and then stop himself. Which is why he then goes "folks" after.

Given how he leads up to it in the rest of the clip noting the KKK's support and how the same language used by those in Charlottesville was used by Nazis, somehow I don't think the word "racist" was somehow the bridge too far there for Biden lol.

I haven't checked out anything about it today, but it's a joke that it has been allowed to happen. They have a list of 30 demands that are all increasingly more absolutely absurd and they're asking businesses for protection money and shit.

yep. articles, pictures, reliable testimony, video, it's all there. it's legit. they are using already grown plants, not seeds. they did not layer it multiple times over, you can visibly see the paper in some pics. they are trying to grow a garden, in a park, in the summer.

oh yeah, even if they, through some miracle, grow something edible out of it, their efforts are quite useless because the amount of food is next to nothing relative to what a person needs. they're expending more energy than the food they grow can possibly provide.

it is the greatest LARP.

I get treated like this not so infrequently. I hate the question of where I am from, by which people do not mean where I was born or grew up but mean where my parents are from. Occasionally it's well-meaning. The worst question I get asked is what dialect of Chinese I speak. That's like asking an American or Englishman what dialect of English he speaks. It cannot be answered without a lengthy explanation that the premise of the question is flawed.

We need a different term than "Karen." That is itself incredibly stereotyping and insulting to all the people named Karen.

Did you miss the part where the cops abandoned the station voluntarily, hoping to bait the public into burning it down, and are only now upset that that didn't happen? The delayed response you're concerned with is caused by deliberate police incompetence and has nothing to do with the current status of the Chaz
