only hit 25 miles last week. starting to socialize with some real life people again.

wondering what's going to happen to my mileage if everything goes fully back to normal. i'm going to add 2 gym days into the week and probably at least 1 social day. i'm probably fine with 20 miles per week if i can maintain sub-20 5k/5:30 mile off of that

Back up to 445 for 1 on squat. My back felt tight today so I didnt push it too much...until I went straight leg DL 315. If I keep going up like this Ill be over 500 by mid-July. I was at 545 before my injury.

Well my gym has opened up again so I've basically started over with exercise, doing nub stuff, upper body on sat and legs yesterday. Will do back tomorrow. I'm focusing on strength training.

Pulled 445 on deadlift before I absolutely slaughtered my back. Got all my main lifts up about 50lbs in three weeks, so while the actual numbers arent great the progress makes up for it. Next week is a deload week before getting back at the heavy stuff.

Do bowflex strengthen/builds muscle or just tone it?
Bowflex can work just fine for building muscle. It's not much different than resistance bands in essence. Like, you're not going to use it to get up to benching 400lbs like some of these dudes but it's perfectly fine for most people's needs.

Nice work. I just had to spot a guy in the gym doing 405 on incline then he proceeded to do 405 flat. Incline and shoulder press were just things I could never figure out. I'm about to bench 405 yet can barely incline 275 and barely strict overhead 200.

Welp, it looks like they aren't going to reopen my gym. I got an email saying that a number of the gyms will be closed permanently.

They are opening other gyms in my area under strict restrictions but they are open from 6am-8pm, which sucks for me as I work nights and usually go into the gym around midnight :(

My shoulders have always been super strong. I was inclining almost 455 before I cut weight, and I could military press 315 for reps. But my bench always hovered between 485-495. I hit 500 once a few years back.

I know your guys anxiety is probably through the roof but the gym is one of the last places I'd want to go to right now. The coronavirus is still wreaking havoc amongst society and can be spread through the air, do you really want to be at a place where a bunch of strangers meet and breath really heavy for an extended amount of time?

Be smart, workout outside or at home. There are other things you can do besides free weights and machines.

I won't be going near any gym til at least November.

I think i've been miscalculating my TDEE. I think I overestimated by about 200 calories a day or so. I dropped my calorie goal and added cardio twice a week. Its just hard to figure out when I should do cardio cuz I'm doing legs twice a week. Overall my body looks better in the mirror, but weight is stuck at 180 lbs. Its been about 7 weeks of lifting so far. I've essentially done a recomp inadvertently while failing a cut.

Cool, thanks. I don't want to become a huge bulky bodybuilder but i do want to build some extra muscle.

All I've had so far was a bench and a few dumbbells

This is actually known as a really good mile predictor workout. The avg pace of your 400s will be very close to your mile pace. I ran 5:30 the other week, which is 82.5, so almost spot on.

Finally attempting to get back in the swing of things. Today ended the first week of my return to lifting since life calmed down a bit.

I changed the exercises a bit and I'm starting at the 21 lb. mark with my dumbbells. Arms were sore for a few days, but as today goes on, they don't feel so bad anymore.

Alright, time to spend summer focusing on getting better at this. And hopefully acquire a proper bench at some point. I am finished with heavy cardio focus to lose weight so I'm letting work take care of light cardio requirements I set. Anytime work is slow or doesn't have me move enough, I will be getting on the treadmill at home after work before bed.

Welp, it's good to be back. And on the bright side, I have plenty of protein supplements left to help this time. Off to work soon.

You guys keep up the good work I see in here.
