Im overall not a fan of Gladoss shift in characterization from Portal 1 to 2, in which she became less robotic and a lot more directly insulting. Yes, I get that it makes sense both from a story perspective and because the writers needed new material, but I still dont like it. It got a pretty cushy bracket placement too, so heres hoping for an upset in the next few rounds. As for Craving, all Ill say is I like how the VA sounds and am interested in hearing more of her, preferably voicing something not so borderline fetishistic. Face is awesome. Seriously. It elegantly combines insult and threat by playing on the double meaning of the word face as representing physical appearance and vulnerable part of the body. Its so good it makes we want to play Color Splash to see if the rest of the game is as good as this quote. Im probably going to be disappointed. Anyway, I appreciate the emotional gravity of Hate, but it has no business being here. Yes, I get the joke. Yes, I hate it. Lets talk about Cocky, because its an example of a quote that really is enhanced by the VA. When I first read it I imagined it being triumphantly shouted across a room, then I listened to it and it turned out to be deadpanned across a table. And while I do love some ham, in this case the lack of it makes the quote feel more incisive, like shes really hitting a sore spot. Please beat Hanging. Please. (^_^) is awesome. Seriously. I love a good angry rant (see also Dang mad) and the pure hedonistic insanity on display here is just delightful. Died, in contrast, is rather weak. Shes boasting about not helping people and dying? Thats lame! Try boasting about cutting peoples XXXX off!
