F/GO: Shimousa beated. Avenger Amakusa ruined my no Command Seal run of Shimousa. I 100% could have won without them if not for the fact he literally used his NP charge skill 4 times inside of 3 turns and was thus able to fire off his NP with his last bar buff a second time. I very, very probably would have beaten him given even a single additional turn but I just wasn't in the mood for that nonsense so I used the seals. Embarrassed I didn't figure out Saber of Empireo's identity until the reveal. Also curious about everything that happened at the end there with Caster of Limbo surviving two apparent deaths and the "Satan" they all kept talking about. I was sure it was a Demon God Pillar behind Amakusa but nope. No Demon Pillars there at all.

Started Salem but I lacked the AP to do anything but the intro scene coming off of Shimousa. Given Da Vinci and everyone is sure this is the last of the Demon God Pillars that escaped that would mean there's two of them here since we've only accounted for 2 of the 4 so far. Also Fake!Medea mystery time.

The Satan was just Amakusa.

The third Demon God Pillar was in an event. It's kinda unfortunate it wasn't a permanent event, since it's highly important story-wise. It'll get a rerun next year.

Not sure you saw, but you get a bonus 10 SQ for completing Lostbelt 1 in the next two weeks.

How've you been liking the EoR stories so far?

Some of the Swordmaster fights came really close. I mentioned them in my "unexpected MVP" post but Assassin actually got me down to literally just Hans after she NP'd Ana and I was very fortunate in her target choice once I ran out of ways to direct it with Mash - as in targeting Mash over Ana/Hans/Waver (whichever of the two was on the field with her at the time, I don't recall. Probably Ana/Waver?)

Rider + Berserker also could have gone sideways pretty fast even though I could knock out Berserker's first bar on Turn 1 with Fujino. My team got wiped out basically at just the right pace for Shiki to come in at the ideal moment to deal with Rider with minimal problems (I mean I placed her last in the formation for that very reason but that was no guarantee it would go as planned)

Saber actually went really smoothly but it 100% could have turned into a wreck if he decided to focus on Fujino and took her out of the fight.

Danzo was actually a surprisingly tough fight too, honestly pushed my team almost as far as Assassin did with all her HP and a multi-target NP. I could have played it better if I had lost and made adjustments knowing what was coming but still!

Story stuff: ...Oh. Well that's anti-climactic! At least there's a re-run!

EoR stories have been pretty good. Not Camelot/Babylonia level but probably better than any other Part 1 Singularity? I think Shimousa has been my favorite... then Shinjuku probably and Agartha last. If Agartha leaned more into the mystery/questions behind what was going on there it'd have been better I think, that was where it was best but it felt more like the B-plot there.

I saw the 10 SQ thing, yeah. I'm hopeful that if no events come up I can maybe power through it in time. If I can't... I will regretfully pass on the SQ because even that temptation won't have me break the chronological order. An event would basically kill any hope of it but without one and I can just focus the whole two weeks on Salem and LB1? ...Maybe?

It'll be a good couple weeks until the next event, and even that one is like, one node a day time-locked (no farming nodes).

There is typically a good empty week or two when a story chapter is released. LB2 will be out next week and I wouldn't anticipate the event Mac mentioned until after July 4th.

Brick is probably the one I liked most after Knives Out. There was still something that didn't work with me about the tone though. It was like trying to be super serious most of the time but still had the meta humor of "these are just high school teens talking like hard-boiled detectives and thugs" occasionally that took me out of it sometimes? Or maybe there should have been more of it and it should have been a bigger a draw but the tone was still so somber it wasn't really funny enough. I'd have to rewatch it to see if I missed something.

gtfo with tv show episodes though. My problem is probably less his directing style and more his writing.

I watched Brick and Looper long before star wars reboots were a thing. Looper was dumb af. But three is a pattern so when last jedi came out that sealed it.

also while i am musing on the human condition

the human design is fundamentally flawed

people need a sleep button. where you set the amount of time you want to sleep, press it, and then you immediately fall asleep for that amount of time. and maybe a hud that has like an energy/fatigue bar so you can manage this. because i am sick of feeling exhausted but then lying awake for hours unable to fall asleep ughhhhhhhh

While I am making suggestions to optimize the quality of life, ban temperatures in excess of 70 degrees Fahrenheit (exception for cooking and baths/showers and probably some other super obvious other uses YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN) and just ban humidity period.

My wife is in agreement with you. She despises summer and vastly prefers winter because of the humidity. I'd rather be hot than cold myself though.

I used to be better with summer but the last few years (decade?) I just can't.

At least with cold you can wear more layers or get blankets. But the heat? you just hit a point where your only option is to suffer.

Yeah, I get it. Whenever I have to use a mail truck (I normally drive my own vehicle), it's miserable in the summer because those things are basically hot boxes. You have one tiny fan for airflow and that's it.
