The victim is literally just jogging down a rural road, two rednecks pull over and attack the guy with no warning. When he tries to stop them they just blow him away with a shotgun.

Was racism involved? Probably. They could have simply followed him in their truck while they called the police.
They obviously shouldn't have shot him, and I can't believe they are going to get away with ti...even if one of em is a cop. Even if it was on their property and he was tresspassing in most states they could not have legally shot him.

But this is not really anything new as I said before, and it's not just black men that have been shot, it's only news because someone filmed it and the internet exists now...which Is a good thing. Maybe things like this will start happening less.....but probably not that much less because it normally happens when nobody is around and the people doing the shooting/killing/stabbing/raping etc, know there is nobody around because they make sure of it.

It sure can. And in this case, it was a pair of white guys being racist against a black guy.

Last I checked on the story it has gone to 3 separate state attorneys. It kept bouncing around due to the conflicts of interests. Now the last one to have it says that he will bring it to a grand jury as soon as this corona stuff is over.

Thats not good enough for me as the leaked video shows clearly what happened.

Im not black but as a street jogger I am really hit hard by this. You are out there working on your health. Lowering blood pressure. Losing weight. Gaining stamina and speed. Internally battling the little voice inside saying, Youve done enough. Go home and play Warzone, and then tomorrow youll just jog a little more to make it up for it. And you have to respond back, Fuck you! I said I was doing 6 miles and so we are doing 6 miles. TODAY. You take in the suns vitamin D, and just enjoy life as endorphins are released throughout your body.

And then you have two insecure, little dick, bitch ass Hicks come over and want to start shit with you!? That man was under no obligation to answer anything those assholes had to ask. Just like they had no right to shoot him.

And this has been happening forever... but not to make this political, but these fucks have been coming out of the racist closet a lot more the past 3 years. This poor joggers ONE LIFE was cut short. Done. Finito. Over what? Nothing we do now will bring him back. But maybe there are things we can do to make sure somebody else doesnt end up just like him.

I'm not defending these guys because what they're doing appears to be wrong, but lets level set on a couple of things here.

The man who appeared to be jogging was 12 miles from home. That's less 'jogging' and more 'marathoning'.

He also, allegedly, had been burglarizing the neighborhood lately and had allegedly been caught on camera doing so.

Allegedly again on the day of the killing, he was burglarizing a jobsite prior to the video which sparked this whole thing.

I would also note I find his actions a bit strange in the initial parts of the video. The so-called rednecks are in the middle of the street with guns, apparently yelling at him to stop, and he just keeps running straight at them. Then at one point he actively moves to engage with the one dude on the ground. I'm curious to why he didn't just run in the other direction, or literally any direction but straight at them. I'm not implying this means he had ill intent, but I find it strange given the circumstances.

This is really just another Trayvon situation. Guys engaging with someone when they really should have just sat back and let the police figure it out. Had they not tried to stop him, this would have been avoided. But the fact that the guy appears to grab for the old mans gun when he gets shot means hes very likely going to get off on self defense regardless of the circumstances.

At first I was about to post how I think these two should have be hung for this and these two were racist monsters.
But after watching the Timcast video (angrily in 1.5-1.75 speed), my opinion has changed somewhat.

The story was originally supposed to be:
"white supremacists hunt down and murder innocent black man just going on his daily jog"

But it turns out its more like this:
"Man killed during struggle over weapon due to being confronted about property theft"

As it turns out, in the New York Times article, it is said there is video evidence of Mr. Arbery committing property theft.
These two knowing this confront him theirselves to try to do a citizens arrest. Mr. A continues running away from them after they ask to talk with him, they cut him off, he runs towards them, a fight over a gun begins, in the struggle, Mr. A is shot.

Media needs to stop trying to portray everything as racism to get a juicy story. I was RIGHT there alongside yall ready to have these two guys lynched for being hateful terrible racists. But I guess thats why they say not to fall into a mob mentality, especially when you dont have all the facts. What is my opinion now? They should still go to jail for manslaughter and trying to take the law into their own hands, but at least I dont see them as hateful monsters hunting down a black jogger anymore.
