I figure the two biggest things needed to score well is participation in every single one (which I can't imagine you missed any), and getting the overall winners right in all but the the most unexpected ones (L-Block, Draven, Undertale).

So, I've noticed the percentages in match-specific page in the guru site is broken. For example, Match 114 shows ME2 with 84% and RE2 with 50%.

The parenthetical values arent only showing percentages - its 84 people, 59% for ME2, 50 people, 35% for RE2.

This one is unlikely and spans over 2 days, but if Dragon Ball FighterZ and Terraria both win, Dragon66116 would be eliminated by TAFKAHurricane. Nothing else is possible through the end of division 7.

800 vote lead. Though I wonder if it was over and decided by the time two hours was up. I feel like every match this contest has just flatlined throughout the poll window. Sure, there's the early vote, which is unpredictable, but once things stabilized from that...

Yeah, but even compared to that...there's just been no divergence whatsoever. I don't know if it's the coronavirus keeping people at home or the aging demographics of the site, but unless Luster wants to prove otherwise, I feel like it's basically static once we have a decent sample size.

I've been doing trend charts for contest matches since 2006

the trends have gotten diluted over the years simply because the after school vote essentially doesn't exist anymore because we're largely an adult audience but it's not like there's no movement at all.

If Rocket League > Dragon Ball holds, I will be tied with Coolguy for the top - but no time to gloat, there's matches to discuss.

Batman vs. Xenoblade 2: I said it about Bastion and Octopath, and I'll say it again: Xenoblade's being underrated. In fact, it's in a similar position to Octopath, being an early Switch JRPG, but has the added advantages of being straightup Nintendo and having series recognition. It was in a Switch game of the year poll:

in which it avoided getting crushed by Mario and Zelda and even kept Mario under a tripling, and we know that game is legit. With the exception of Donkey Kong (which was on Wii U first) all other Switch games have looked good so far. Three Houses, likely the closest of those to Xenoblade, easily took care of South Park, and that's with RPG overlap. Even if Batman turns out to be stronger, this should be a close match.

Bioshock vs. Terraria: A few days ago I called this as a potential upset, but having come down off my IndieFEAR high, I'm backing off. I don't know much about Terraria, but apparently it's more like a 2D Minecraft rather than the platformers and metroidvanias that have been winning the debated matches so far. Bioshock will be weak, but it probably won't lose.

Diablo 3 vs. VLR: VLR was the 3rd weakest game in the 2015 xstats. The #1 weakest?

Virtues Last Reward (2015g) VS Hearthstone (2015g)
Virtues Last Reward has a strength of 10.70.
Hearthstone has a strength of 8.60.
Virtues Last Reward wins with 59.81% of the vote!

That was 5 years ago. Since then Blizzard has fallen even harder, and Diablo has been at the forefront of the hate. Can a visual novel knock it out? I say it's not impossible.

In the second 4, there are a few unlikely possibilities:

• Swirldude is eliminated by cavedweller2000 if Nier: Automata loses to Bayonetta 2 (and ultimately these two will go head-to-head based on Nier/Pokemon, if not eliminated by someone else).
• t_kizzle is eliminated by Camden if Bayonetta and Celeste both win (down 4 points with only 2 to gain).
• zylothewolf is eliminated by Camden if HeartGold loses to Night in the Woods and Celeste wins. (would be down 4 with only 2 to gain)

In all likelihood though, everyone will survive round 1.
