Tony has had a fantastic edit, especially given that it's Tony. I don't think anyone else has received as much strategic care as him on a consistent basis, and those early season scenes where he was shown having fun but relating it to his approach towards the game are the type of key scenes winners get. I've seen some people argue that he looked bad against Sarah last night, but uh, nah. Sarah was the one that came off badly in that interaction, imo. And even if he did look bad, a slight hint of negativity doesn't remove your winner chances. Michele and Sophie both had decent edits but they've both fallen way behind, especially Michele who got the strong pre-merge and dropped off starting at merge. I assume she will talk about wtf happened last tribal next episode because her vote makes no sense at the moment, but being strategically invisible was a terrible choice. Sophie was the decoy and was always going to get content, and even then, she didn't get to speak until the end.

The most visible character isn't necessarily the one that wins either. Adam was a hot mess and was bringing the good TV so he got screentime for it, that's all. His entire story last season was about his mom, like they would miss the chance to show that EoE scene.

EDIT: Also, given the preview, maybe Tony will start doing his Cagayan thing where he now swings between both sides shaving people off? It would fit his premier confessional when he said he'd play a quiet game before pulling out the fireworks. He had a very social pre-merge, got to merge and made a threats alliance, and now he might start pulling off moves. The edit definitely made a point to show his strategy.

If you had told me pre-season that Tony would be one of the top winner contenders in edgic this late in the game, I would've said you were crazy. Mainly because his Game Changers showing was exactly what I expected from a returning Tony and had no reason to think this one would be any different. Plus, theoretically he should have had one of the five or so biggest targets on his back out of the group, with Rob, Sandra, Parvati and Tyson. But my guess is that him being SUCH a big target combined with his nutty personality ironically worked in his favor this time, since people wrote him off as an easy vote-out whenever and ignored him in the first few rounds, allowing him to get some footing and actually throw his hat into the ring.

I think Tony genuinely learned from Game Changers and toned himself down and played more socially early on. He only got kooky and paranoid in episode six when there were only five players, 2 from Sele, and potential flippers in Kim/Sandra.

I've fallen off on Sophie a decent bit after her lack of focus last episode, to the point where I honestly thought she was going home after the first 2 votes were read.

She's had three fantastic episodes (premiere, merge, Rob boot) where he strategy has been outlined and she'd been given unnecessary levels of focus. But outside of those, it continued to be underwhelming. I feel like I keep waiting every week for her to give me something to solidify her, and she never quite gets there.

This week was... alright? She wasn't totally invisible, but I feel like she was shown just enough to explain the votes, but not much more. Her alliance with Sarah hasn't been mentioned since the Rob episode, until right when it's relevant. She did get the final confessional and spoke about Sarah's steal-a-vote (which even Sarah didn't get a confessional about), but, meh. I dunno. Tony's narrative arc is so strong.

i think michelle is quite obviously a zero vote finalist type player if she even makes it to there. nick and ben both seem like obvious goats who would be dragged to the end like michelle also.

i think tony/sophie/kim have the best chances of winning in that order.

jeremy seems to be in imminent danger and is on the outs so he will need to win a lot of immunities and find some idols imo.

Kim has been far too ignored for long stretches of the season. As one of the most dominant winners ever there's no way they under edit her this badly if she wins again.

Editing logic only goes so far in all-stars seasons, imo. Kim would be out if this were a normal season, but her lack of screen time might have a simple explanation: she's been surrounded by a cast of characters who make better TV than she does. Plus, I think the editors gave up trying to communicate what's going on, strategy-wise, several episodes ago. All I know is that the hyenas are eating the lions, and Sophie seems to be getting the lion's share of the credit right now.

There's nobody here on the level of Gavin and Julie, and that was probably the biggest factor in Chris's win. Plus I don't think the jury respects Adam that much, and there's no Hannah and Ken here to make him look good by comparison.

bb15 is great strategically, especially late. it just gets dragged down by the absolute racist scumbags in the season

it also benefits from having a very strong winner

Just finished rewatching TAR21.

Very balanced in terms of my feelings on the teams. Four teams that I liked/loved, three that I was relatively neutral to, and four that I disliked/hated.

That being said, it kinda sucked to see the weakest/least competent team of at least the final six (arguably the final seven) win after outlasting the rest due to dumb luck and other extenuating circumstances.

but that final six set of teams is really great! it's also super weird seeing the twinnies in TAR now, since natalie actually won survivor my brain just associates both of them with that show now!

I'll be honest, I didn't like the Twinnies the first time I watched the season. They were my second-least favorite team. And I can see why; they could get pretty loud and obnoxious and did a few pretty nasty things. But I was wrong and they are the best.

The other team that I did a huge 180 on my opinion of was the Monster Truckers. I remember Rob being this rough, tough guy on the outside with a big teddy bear on the inside. This time he actually just mostly pissed me off. Interestingly, the Sucks opinion of them has done the exact opposite - people HATED them for a long time and now they're starting to grow a bit of a fanbase.

Yes, Monster Truck was 7th place. That's as far down the order as you have to go to find a team that the winners were roughly on par with in terms of actual strength/competency.

That fashion show scene was great. One of the best scenes of the season thus far. I love seeing the players just goof around and showcase their personalities.

Out of the 9 left in the game Kim and Nick have added the least to the season so I'm fine with either of them going.

I took it as the former. So it's a risk on both sides. Because her risk is that if they can't pay it, she gets no fire tokens.

I love frantic Tony, but I do kinda wish he wasn't quite so prominent this episode. I get that the idol and the extortion and the immunity have made him super prominent, but still. Would be nice to see more of the other eight.

Really leaning on this happening now. Sophie is definitely dying here, the edit has been high on Tony all episode. They won't make the move fail. Next episode he will have to find Sarah's forgiveness - he's basically making her into his Trish, especially given that she said she's the one carrying the social game in that fashion show scene. It's all coming together.
