That was so good, I loved Adam this episode. He's been such a little shit this season trying to keep up with things. I love how Adam Klein in confessionals is so confident and knowledgeable and is calling out everything that's going on but Adam actually interacting with with other Survivors is timid and desperate and begging for everything. It's a bit of a stark difference in how he sees himself and how he actually performs in the field.

I definitely love how no matter how effective what he's doing is, he always pushes as hard as he can right until the very end.

Going for that idol was a longshot and its pretty embarrasing that it didn't work but he did have good reasoning for doing it and once you have that deduction you really have to go for it. what if it HAD been an idol?

Absolutely LOVED how Jeff played it off. "Always." Jeff is such a great host, he really makes this show phenomenal.

I decided to watch the first season for the first time ever, just started last night

I'm so hype for Michele and Tony. They were the two people I was rooting for coming in and figured neither had any real shot at winning and now both look like top contenders.

I know seasons like this tend to favor under the radar females, but with all the big egos (not a bad thing) this season I couldn't see a single scenario where someone like Michele (given her reputation as a winner) could win a FTC. She's not making the end with Brad and Troyzan. This could still be the case and it's probably more likely that she is this season's Kelley Wentworth, but I'm still really happy for her.

Tony's win in Cagayan seemed impossible to replicate even before his Game Changers performance. I gave him probably the lowest preseason odds to win. And yet...he's the opposite of Michele in that I can't really see a FTC he loses (especially given that Sandra and Rob are out) if he somehow manuevers himself there. At the very least I'm so glad we got more than two weeks of Tony.

On the other side, Sophie was literally my least anticipated returnee and seems poised for a deep run and probably has the most conventional winner's edit. So that sucks.

So quarantine has allowed me to power through BB14. It also helps that I absolutely loved this season. I'm not sure if this is a hot take but man, did Dan forget that Big Brother, even more than Survivor is a social game? I know you have got to get there but I think he may have been playing too hard and frankly I'm not sure this is something that had happened in Big Brother to this point? Maybe Natalie in 11 or Alison in 4? But still. I think maybe he was thinking he would Boston Rob it with Danielle with Danielle as his NatTen?

As for favorite character, I was trying not to pick any of the returnees so it was down to Ian and Frank. And even though I knew the freaking winner I still found myself rooting for Frank so I'll give it to him.

It's not so much that BB15 was specifically controversial, as it was that this became the beginning of outrage culture seeping into the show. Every season from here on suffered because online users felt entitled to ruin the player's lives if they didn't agree with anything the player said. BB15 aired in 2013, which by total coincidence was the first year that Twitter was a Top 10 most visited website. Big Brother felt obligated to cash in on all the live feed moments that Twitter users were offended about, so they would often show less savory things (which have always been said on the show, but aired less, due to social media not having been quite nearly as prominent until this year). This has lead to a lot of very awkward moments where Big Brother tries to serve some kind of justice to appease a userbase that can never be appeased.

I would say BB15 was pretty controversial for the stuff that happened regardless of social media, more so than any season before it, but I also do agree, social media played a big part in the producers deciding what should be shown to the casual audience in the edited episodes. I watched the feeds religiously from BB12-BB15, and I can say firsthand nothing in BB12, 13, or 14 was nearly as bad as what was said in 15. 13 did have Jeff's homophobia (which didn't air, IIRC), but I believe that's it. Meanwhile 15 had Aaryn, Gina Marie, Spencer, and Amanda saying some pretty questionable stuff (of which I believe they only aired Aaryn/GM).

The show did include nasty remarks in prior seasons too, such as with Kent, Erika, Dick, Adam, etc. But I don't think the producers were trying to editorialize the comments as much as they do in 15. I'm currently rewatching BB15 and it's amusing how much the show buries Aaryn. Julie doesn't hide it at all.

i think buying the 50/50 coin was the right choice

you have no idea when or if you're going to get another offer. so even though this was a major ripoff for something potentially useless, it's better to just take it.

plus she just got blindsided and had her ally voted off, she's not in a confident enough position to wait for something else

I forgot who mentioned it (Taran?) but they made the good point that if she rejects it, they are also less likelier to give her another offer anyways, knowing that she's already rejected once, she may reject it again.

If Jeremy hadn't used one advantage, Kim would've used a different advantage to save the day? Yeah, I'm glad things went down the way they did, especially since it seems like the vote was 5-2-2 instead of 4-3-2 or 3-3-3, so the Jeremy group was in the minority regardless.

I mean, it COULD, but Adam was given a far bigger edit than Tony. For a bombastic personality like Tony's the editors feel like they're highlighting him, but still keeping him on the backburner so he's not the sole focus of the season. This past episode was the first time where he felt like the most important character of the episode, and that could largely be a result of him winning immunity.

Meanwhile Sophie gets almost no edit love. I remember that one great scene where she lays out the "big guy alliance" in the merge ep but other than that, really cant recall any highlights from her... another grudging bare minimum edit from Jeff and co. like when she beat Coach???

I dont think I've ever hoped Inviso to be more right, a Tony win at this point would have to be a miracle (as would a Sophie loss, ideally). But I certainly want to believe, man I'd be so happy...
