I know my parents bloodtypes, but since they were A+ and B- minus respectively, I could be anything from OO to AB.

My area is officially ordering everything closed. No cases within an hour of us but I guess we are not taking chances (Iowa cases are pretty limited at this point).

I just feel like this is going to do more harm than good atm but I'm probably just thinking that cause I only know people hurt by the closings and not the virus right now.

In the interest of coronavirus shaming

Got back from my run with my dog a couple hours ago. There were probably about 5x the number of people there usually at the park. Most of the regulars(Which include a lot of 65+) were not present, almost entirely people I'd never seen before. Way too many of them were 65+ and there were way too many adults bringing out their 10 and under children(There were a couple children that had to be 2 years old or younger).

Worst thing were the 65+ that were still using the publicly available exercise equipment. But the single biggest shame was the dude probably in his 50s on one of those slightly elevated bars they have for people to do pushups or whatever they do with them. He broke out into a coughing fit and literally spit on the ground and got some on the bar.

There were too many people that went out and got McDonalds or other fast food and brought them to eat on picnic tables(Seriously, stop touching things eat at home). No large gatherings but lots of people doing things they shouldnt or being in an age group where they should be at home isolating.

For myself I pretty much kept just off the running path and maintained preferably about a 10 foot distance between myself and anyone. Pretty much no risk to me in a large open area with no touching of anything.

Looking into it more it also looks like the main side effect (blindness) is related to long term use, so hopefully that's not a big concern in using it for a week or two to fight covid. Really hope it can get approved soon.

We were briefed at work today that the we (law enforcement), the National Guard, and the military are prepping to possibly enact a nationwide quarantine that would last a week and possibly as long as a month. There are some preperations to make, mostly to get things in place to prevent rioting/looting, but if this happens it will most likely take affect this weekend to ensure nobody leaves their homes starting next Monday. Nothing official obviously and I will keep you guys updated as much as I can. Just start making plans if you need to stock up on supplies or prepare a change in living arrangements.

By the way, in case you're still optimistic about possibly not catching the virus, let me mention that I still see more than zero (which is way more than it should be) people each day who are still wiping their nose with their hands in the middle of a pandemic.

I bring this up because today someone did it right before using a touchpad I had no choice but to use after them. I washed my hands for literally three minutes straight afterwards, and I was fucking pissed.

i really recommend getting one of these seasonal amazon jobs, base pay for the one i'm hiring manager for is $17.25 with differentials added for nights and weekends. they're also paying extra for working overtime (more than the usual time and a half) and the mandatory overtime is actually optional because they are excusing all time off right now, even days they called as "mandatory"

yeah it's seasonal but it's seasonal for a reason, we know this is going to die down and we know a lot of people have other jobs they're going to go back to. take advantage of this while you can, you aren't held to a rate for the first month so you can coast and get a great paycheck then quit once your other job starts up

new shifts and positions get posted friday night/saturday morning if you don't see anything now, direction we have across the network is to keep hiring with no cap as much as we can for as long as we can

iirc LA is serviced primarily by the ONT node which is in moreno valley. don't know how far that is from LA tho, I've met a lot of people from the ONT node that lived in LA proper so it must be commutable
