Bought ERI at $18.14 only for it to drop down below $17 once the market was getting ready to close. Darn. Oh well, won't seem like a huge deal once things bounce back up. Only threw in like $300, too - not looking at this as anything other than some quick cash, but I'm wondering how picky I should be about when to sell.

I fear there will be a drop tomorrow. Perhaps a gain in the immediate minutes / hour of opening, but a drop after that. And it will last for a short while. This is just my gut feeling.

But if you hold onto ERI (as in, months) youll make a profit.

I don't have faith in eri btw. I think their resorts are typically subpar and behind the curve.

Think they are a good shorter term bet though. Wouldn't hold onto them for years. Take their gains then find someone else.

Yeah no way am I holding on to ERI for years, lol. Only stock I have right now that I'd keep for that long is the 20 shares of Disney I wiggled into while things were really bad for them.

Disney is at 70% of what it was a few months ago, whereas ERI is at like 25-35%. You could double or triple your money with ERI and stocks like it, but with DIS you are at best looking at like 30% gains. Am I missing something? I know Disney is more established but thats also why the stock is more expansive and drop off has been less. I doubt itll surpass its previous value by a whole lot but what do I know.

You are missing that the economy isn't going to magically return to where it was at prior. Disney is likely to make that 30% missing up faster than ERI will make its missing 70% up by a significant amount of time.

I am hoping for a crash the end of this week so that I can invest in a much safer stock, like VZ or something, and get the small gain from that. I might take a timeout from these casino / travel ones. Ill think about it.

ERI is a super levered play. They announced a plan to buyout CZR last summer (yes, a smaller company buying a bigger company) mostly by borrowing money to do it. Not sure if it's going to go through or not. CZR is trading way below the price ERI is supposed to pay for CZR stock so the market seems to think there's a good chance the deal falls through.

Supposing it goes through, you then have a casino company with a large number of B-tier casinos, almost all in the United States. And a crazy amount of debt. So it's a high risk high reward play. The total value of all their properties without the debt is many times the market cap now and many times the market cap from February even. But if the buyout of CZR happens and the recovery is slow, bankruptcy is a real possibility for the merged ERI/CZR.

I see ERI dipped really low but looking at after market action it is already back up to 18.75. I am destined to make a bad pick at some point maybe this is it.

You overestimate the strength of the brand a bit but you wont -lose- money on it. Its just not going to be as big of a gainer as you think.

Possibly, keep in mind I bought my shares way lower than this I was just talking about my advice to moonroof.

Robinhood has after market action displayed for me to answer that question.

I put a lot of money into airlines and cruise lines yesterday so I feel good about that, I won't even think about that money for a long while.

Im very curious to see how tomorrow goes. I suspect gains in the AM but a red day overall. No idea whether the casino/travel stocks will continue to be immune to the regular trends.

the government is making people nervous by not closing the deal here. Definitely going to see some losses tomorrow.

Massive uptick in unemployment rate is expected to hurt todays market. Im betting it will carry into tomorrow. I have no idea when the next correction will be.

Yeah that makes sense. I am not really into day trading too much so I can't give any precise advice on when that would be.

What do you guys make of MFO? Ten years consistency at around $25. Currently at $14. We missed the main gain but it seems its pretty reliable for another 100% gain over some time.

I've always been skeptical of day trading but y'all make it seem like shooting fish in a barrel over here
