More like smart enough not to vote in people who may very well cause irreparable harm to the US. Sanders has UHC but it's not worth the risk to the country, besides chances are that it won't pass because only Harris wanted private insurance to coexist with it (the only way it will pass and thrive in the US). So basically the chances of me getting what I want from Sanders is almost 0%. If you aren't voting establishment in 2020, you are gambling with your vote and most likely will be disappointed or worse is the long run if Sanders is elected.

As upset as I would be if and when they fuck over Bernie... I will do the same. Will I be mad at the establishment democrats? Fuck yeah. Will I work towards a US that has the programs that make European nations so awesome? Yes. But Im not going to sit out this election year.

Literally every Democratic candidate we had this year (even that crazy author lady) would be a better president than Trump.

But don't think it's easy to win against him. He's the incumbent. That's a huge edge. Only times in the past several decades that an incumbent president lost, it was due to an economic catastrophe (hence why Trump will do everything in his power to force the Fed to lower rates to 0% just to stave off the building crash till after the election) or a third party candidate spoiling the election for him (I'll always adore you, Ross Perot).
We should assume Trump is the favorite to win regardless of what the polls say (#Remember2016), and turn out in fucking force!
Cause...it's not just about the presidency. This is a Census year. Redistricting will be occurring after this election. Republicans won big in 2010, they won in 2000, they won in 1990... See a pattern here?
They also are masters of the gerrymander now, so even if they barely win statewide by like 50% - 49%, expect the state and House of Reps to be more like 70% Republican reps.
Not to mention the obligatory reminder about how McConnell has stacked the judiciary w/ right wing judges, who will continue to fuck us over for the next 30-50 years. Oh, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg can't stay in much longer, so there's that, too...
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION OF OUR LIVES, even aside from Trump!

Data would indicate otherwise. Our system is more expensive and gives us shittier outcomes compared to nations with universal health care systems.
Sanders' system is most closely related to those systems in Britain, Denmark, and Germany.

$800 dollars AND you get to pay a deductible and potentially a lot for meds AND the insurance companies dramatically limit the effectiveness of doctors by ensuring they only have 15 minutes per patient. It's just actually insane to think the american system is working well for anyone except the insurance and pharmaceutical companies.

people go to hospitals in their network but oops the only doctor that could help you is covered by another provider so congratulations you now owe thousands of dollars even though youre insured
