Too cheap to make two threads on this.
We all know that Biden's probably going to win SC. Which will show that he's going to win every southern state. Wonder why that will happen .
Watch me eat my words in a few hours.

How does someone who was in dead last in the first 3 States somehow get 50% of the Vote in South Carolina?

by focusing most of his time/money energy there

theres a reason Biden didnt even stick around for the Nevada results. He knew SC was his Hail Mary and it proved to be the smart move for him.

Looks like going after Steyer at the debate paid off as well

Because those other states lack diversity.

The real embarrassing thing is how much time and energy Steyer has invested in SC and he's getting fucking nothing. He'll probably drop out after tonight.

part of it is that a lot of people in the black community are very wary of trusting anyone they dont know or havent known for very long, and theyve known about Biden for a long time

Biden dumped a lot of his resources into SC, but he's polling pretty badly in ST states. It's unlikely this will change that.

Biden and Bernie were tied at one point in SC after Nevada, so we were wondering if he'd lose at that point, but polling quickly went back in Biden's favor.

If you actually believe that, I have a bridge to sell you. There might be media claims about that, but I'm skeptical of any poll making that claim given Bernie's historic performance vs Biden's.

I really dont think democratic voters would see it that way

depending on their views theyd likely see it as bernie selling out or Biden embracing radical policies

and I cant imagine either one of them willing to entertain the idea of accepting a VP position(in Bidens case, again lol)

I would like to think people would see it as two individuals with some different but similar ideals and beliefs coming together for the greater good. The VP on the ticket I think is going to play a large role because I dont know if just Bernie or just Biden can defeat Trump without another big name. Democrats in general seem a little divided and this could be a way of unifying everyone. Part of the reason Hillary lost is because of this division. I agree that Biden wouldnt want to be VP again though lol.

Bernie offers no real value to Biden and Biden isn't on the same political wavelength as Bernie. If Bernie got the nomination, he might go with somebody like Warren or AOC who are a closer fit to his political views. Biden's VP pick is harder to call, given that he has deeper ties within the Democratic party, a tremendous amount of experience, etc. If he picked a fellow nominee, he'd probably go with a more moderate choice like Mayor Pete or Klobuchar.

GameLord113 posted...

Their ideas and beliefs really aren't that similar. Even in the areas where they coincide, their visions are largely incompatible. And that's only on domestic. Bernie doesn't have a fucking clue on anything when it comes to foreign policy. His foreign policy knowledge is quite possibly much worse than Trump's despite the fact he's been a national-level politician for around 30 years, which is just embarrassing. Biden's decision-making regarding foreign policy may sometimes be suspect, but at least he knows what's going on.

Pete and Amy bowed out before Super Tuesday to try and throw their potential votes to Biden, rather than siphon them away and again split the moderate vote. Actually pretty selfless on their part (maybe hoping for a VP pick up by Biden, though...but I don't know why he'd pick them), though all of it happening together so suddenly on top of as Mead pointed out the complete opposite media narrative between Bernie's win in Nevada and Biden's in SC sure does make it all look sketchy as hell.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if the DNC privately begs Warren to stay in the race as long as possible, just to peel votes from Bernie, and possibly promise her the VP slot in return.
Biden/Warren is honestly a pretty solid ticket*, unites the moderates and the liberals. Plus the identity politics of the first female VP, and she can run after his term. The ideal would be a more liberal VP from a battleground state like Ohio, but...eh.

* Fucks over Bernie to get there, though. Combined w/ her tactically refusing to endorse him in 2016 in order to keep her standing in the party, would kinda make her look like a totally opportunistic jerk.
