Got Provence from the banner who I wanted but I don't know if I can squeeze into my lineups. And then I went for a couple extra rolls to see if I could get Warfarin and got Ifrit instead, wow. I was thinking Silverdaddy would be my next E2 after Eyja but now I'm not so sure. Ifrit does actually seem kind of awkward to use due to her unique range so I'm not 100% sure about replacing Skyfire with her, but I probably should, I guess?

fwiw my all-purpose loadout is like

2 Vanguard
2 Medic (1 ST, 1 AoE)
2 Sniper (1 ST, 1 AoE)
2 Caster (1 ST, 1 AoE)
2 Defender
2 Guard (both ranged, don't have any particularly good melee guards)

Warfarin is in the shop too...not sure if I want to spend 45 yellow certs (have 142 currently) on what is essentially an aesthetic upgrade over Shining but I'm kind of tempted to, Shining's design/voice are pretty zzz to me.

Yeah Myrtle's block count is 0 when using skills, main idea is just to quickly drop a couple other Vanguards/a Guard quickly after tapping her skill.

Siege's simply just best-in-slot for the offensive vanguard role, general consensus being she's not a terribly huge improvement if you already have say Texas, especially since she comes down a bit slower. She can at least hold a lane decently well so you can put a Guard somewhere else.

Nearl's very competent, just that Saria is pretty darn overtuned in comparison - A self-buff passive, a stupidly wide AoE for her S2 heal (which is on a 7 SP counter at M3), plus some SP generation tossed in as a bonus because why not.

Guess that makes sense for Myrtle/Siege, and yeah, Saria seems very strong.

I can get clue 5 a good amount, I think... I use to have trouble with 7 early on. But that for maybe a couple of days at a time. Clue 1 had eluded me for like a week now. And I can't stop getting pissed off at that for some reason...

I haven't actually been paying attention to clues much, I managed to unlock Clue Exchange once for the pinboard mission but last time I tried for more Credit it was telling me I'd hit my limit or something. I've just been focusing on upgrading my Dorms instead for Credit purposes.

I have to go beat 3-4 to upgrade any further. I can probably do it. But I keep getting distracted. Though, I need to do clue exchange to get more bracelets...

Ifrit is absolutely not a Skyfire replacement, yeah.

She is still ridiculously strong and honestly ruins your perspective of the game, because a lot of maps become okay, where can I group enemies in a straight line for Ifrit to dominate?

E2 doesnt seem particularly important for her though? Not unless you want to heavily invest in supporting her with heals. Definitely shoot for E1 though.

Never felt like I had too much trouble with Clues myself, I seem to maybe hit a complete set once or twice a week and mostly rely on dorm credits/clue exchanges pretty much. It doesn't help that the credit store doesn't really give anything terribly interesting and it's mostly just to top up some extra LMD or so.

Ifrit is pretty different from every other AoE caster yeah, though another defining point about her is that she naturally roasts everything at once on her tiles with every attack instead of single-target AoE attacks like every other AoE unit, which is a step up from regular AoE casters because the base DPS of a regular AoE mage is pretty terrible if they aren't hitting clumped groups. She also naturally lowers the overall defenses of all enemy units in her range so if you can take advantage of it she's able to drastically decrease the DPS requirements for your frontline. That said, her best skill is S2, so promoting her to E2 may not be entirely a priority for your needs (The big thing being her increased SP gains and S2 getting an increased flat defense debuff at M3). Even at non-mastery her S2 is strong enough to allow your regular ST snipers do considerable damage to high-defense units. And that's not even including her own naturally high damage output.

While you may feel obliged to try and use as many of her tiles as possible, she still does pretty well even covering only one or two tiles, and sometimes you can just use her to do some snipe cheese. There's apparently a quote from CN server that goes along the lines of 'Burn one tile, nothing is lost. Burn two tiles, great. Burn three tiles, you won the game.'

She does actually excel in Annihilation 3 if you can make a setup that takes advantage of her being at the top front tile flaming the entire front row.

I've had times where I would just be incapable of getting certain clues. Saria being a pretty much guaranteed clue 1 made some instances easier tho

I also rolled a 2nd SilverAsh as well as a 2nd Texas. Those accumulated dp costs might make me a bit less squeamish to try some of the challenges

I've been going through the ch 0-2 challenges myself and the only really difficult ones have been those with increased DP cost or reduced DP regen where if you don't bring two dirt-cheap units to cover 2 lanes ASAP you fail immediately

and yeah, Ifrit does feel kind of busted on maps where you can actually use her effectively. I do remember seeing the Anni 3 setup for her so maybe I'll give that a shot.

The main annoying about story challenge maps is how it takes 3 practice plans just to try them out (Meaning only 10 tries daily) which seems unnecessary since they already have the half-San penalty already which incentives people to only do them with a strong team, though there's also zero penalty for using a friend unit (There's no Auto mode for challenge maps). At least the new set of 4 Hard maps introduced from Chapter 5 onwards only cost 1 Plan/10 San.

That said yeah the first really difficult challenge map would probably be 3-8 for a newer player? The average player can probably complete up to Chapter 4 challenges with just E1 units, though 4-10 might be a bit of an issue without E2 DPS.

Yeah, the Sanity cost is kind of silly. It is kind of weird running into stamina gates constantly, compared to how Granblue floods you with more stamina pots than you can ever use to the point where it's just a couple extra buttons you have to press now and then.

2-9's challenge I still can't seem to complete atm, there are 4 land entrances to plug up and the stage starts by sending a bunch of extremely beefy drones at you, which an E1 lv50, sk7 Platinum can't handle on her own

Couldn't resist getting Warfarin so now I need to farm stuff to upgrade her and her skills. Speaking of which, do outfits change voice lines or just appearance?

Just appearance, voice lines should be unchanged.

2-9C you'll need at least two snipers guarding each side yeah, casters are a bit more expensive so you might want to shuffle your team a bit to get them out in time.

whoo, with Platinum I finally got...356 kills on Anni 3, as opposed to the 350 I had previously. It's progress! Actually, it was close but I made it to the 350 rush with no leaks this time which is something I couldn't manage before so I am actually happy about that.

Might have gone better if it weren't for Ifrit being murdered almost instantly because I didn't initially realize there was a crossbow at the top of the screen...looks like you're supposed to bring Lancet and then use her to keep Ifrit from dying horribly. Whoops. I should probably level/skill Ifrit more too but I'm very low on resources after getting 3 new relevant units in Platinum/Ifrit/Warfarin.

Even with Ifrit, I'm not completely sure I can kill the Hammer Bros before they start stunning. I could get Lappland to E2 but she can't cover the entire map..hm.

I don't bring Lancet myself, I have a healer pointed at Ifrit though (With Saria standing nearby), as per my setup: https://s5.gifyu.com/images/Anni3.jpg

A note about Lappland, she'll need to be E2 so her silence debuff lasts consistently throughout the stuns, otherwise there are gaps in where her talent is active. Also Ifrit can store 3 charges of her S2 at Level 7 so that's also a bit of a priority so she can burst down Hammerbros better.

I honestly don't get how clue exchange works, other than the obvious stuff like when it says you have new clues and visiting friends for credit. I just make sure to do everything without actually knowing if I need to lol. Like I don't know when I have clues to give to others. Sometimes I have, and sometimes I don't. I also wish I knew sooner that I could give clues to people even if they don't need it lol.

Although I thought they took Kal'tsit out of the game permanently because she was too OP?

Also, fuck the fast expiration of the stamina stuff. I had to use 9 of the big stamina items in 2 days :<

Kal'tsit was never in the public release of the game, only the players who signed up for the CN beta test had access to her. A lot of units were also stronger in the beta test, ie Skyfire's regular attack being her S2 meteors as also seen in this Kal'tsit video.

Symphogear XDU currently has two story events and four event gacha banners (one of which is a re-run) going right now, which is pretty insane compared to other gacha games. However, the fact that this game re-runs banners and events so many times balances it out, so there's definitely going to be another crack at all of these banners in the not too distant future. I think I actually like this better than the "one event at a time, but if it's limited, you better pull/whale for it now or it won't come back for a long time, if ever" setup that most gacha games go with.

If anyone else here is still playing XDU, what do you think of this?

I just wish there was even one medic who could do damage. Like how Silence's skill says the drone self-destructs when the time expires. Maybe have it do AOE damage at the end in exchange for some nerf like increased DP or SP, less or slower healing, or have it take deployment or something?

Pity rate hits, and Siege came out of Hellagur's banner. A surprise but it's not unwelcomed, I'd take the hot girl JPEG over badass grandpa JPEG any days.

I've never hated clickbaity YouTubers more than when I got into 7DS Grand Cross. They're causing so much of the community to act like spoiled 10 year olds with their "MUST PULL OP UNIT COMING UP" and "DATAMINE LEAKS FOR BROKEN CHAR THIS WEEK??" People literally want to review bomb the game because Escanor was "delayed" a week even though he was never announced in the first place.

I've done Magia Record twice already, plus Symphogear XDU and Revue Starlight ReLIVE once (the first three generals weren't themed at all) so I wanted to go for a new one this time. Most of the discussion lately has been towards Arknights, so I'm leaning that direction.

Speaking of Magia Record... the Magia Clash event (AKA the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha collaboration event) is being re-run on the JP server for the first time starting today, including Hayate finally getting her 5-star uncap. That means there's also hope that it'll eventually be re-run on EN as well, so people who weren't able to pull/max Nanoha and Fate or missed the first event to get their welfare Hayate can get another chance at it.

When I was working at my other job, I could only look at my phone a little at a time. So, I would constantly lose my place. Having only 10 post per page made it easier to keep track of where I was. Also, things would load slower. So, a page with multiple gifs or something would take forever to either load, or load the gifs up. So, I just kept it at 10 pages. And because the pages load up fast, its not really too much slower. Its faster for me since the pages dont take forever to load and I can remember exactly where I was. So, yeah... Why do you guys like 50 per page, if you dont mind me asking?

5-3 in Arknights was pretty nasty. Ended up having to level Melantha to almost max so she could solo one of the Casters, then build up a halfassed team around each exit point (including Lancet, who dies almost immediately to any of the Casters) since you can't really use any Snipers or Casters. Not sure I'm huge on the whole "you have basically no slots to deploy ranged units" thing but oh well. To be fair, I have more options for ground-based ranged units than most people given that I have Lappland/Silverash/Liskarm.

I think I might take a break from the game once I've completed chapter 5 and Annihilation 3, I feel like I've done most of what's there to do aside from just grinding out E2 and skill upgrade materials forever.

Incidentally, do you have to reset Specialization levels on one skill when you Specialize another? Ingame it makes it sound like you have to, but I think I remember reading otherwise somewhere.

I think Shotgunnova and I are the only ones playing Azur Lane, so there probably isnt any point having an Azur Lane title. I might be one of the only gacha folks who picked two decent games and never bothered with any others, though. Might change that, though, since Overlord's Mass for the Dead recently released, and people know how much I love me some Overlord.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I should bring that up or not. Arknights does have enough discussion to sustain its own general, and if the Arknights players did decide to go that route, I'd try to post more often about the games I play (which right now is only Magia Record and Symphogear XDU) to keep the main general from purging. If they want to, then I have no objections.

5-3's a bit of a doozy yeah, but it got easier on Challenge once I noticed I could use quick-redeploy units to push the elite casters off-tile into range of my snipers. Also helps if you got Skadi ofc

Yeah I'm pretty much in that boat, I've finished basically all the content in the game including challenge modes, though I typically prefer to have fone games relegated to a side-game which I occasionally come back to lol

I'm sure I've seen some instances online where people have multiple specializations for their units when talking about them. Either way though, specialization takes a ton of mats so you'd realistically only be maxing one skill, only a scant few units with some odd off-application would require specializing non-main skills (ie Saria's S1 is occasionally preferred in some scant circumstances) Pretty sure the training room descriptor simply refers to the fact that you can only level up one skill at a time.

Yep. The powercreep is pretty insane with this one. It's kind of unfortunate, just another banner to save for (collabs, limited, Gala unit & dragons). I wish they would've put the gala dragon in with the gala unit banner. It's a nice kick in the balls to the F2P crowd.

I'm hard passing on this Gala. Volk is the hardest fire content out right now and he's been farmed for months without this dragon. It's far better to just pull on FE pt 2.

I plan on doing a small portion of my single vouchers a tenpull voucher, just to see if I strike it lucky. The rest of my vouchers and especially my wyrmite are staying untouched though.
